Otto and Alicent is greedy. Their are not gonna share power. Otto went as far as trying to marry baby Aegon to Rhaenyra. If Alicent is really smart - she had have Helaena marry Jace and Aegon and Aemond marry the Velaryon girls. That ensure all her fort covered - from the Targaryen to Hightower to Velaryon. Daemon won't be able to do anything cause his not the head of any house. At least Rhaenyra attempted to permanently squash the problem at one point, unlike Alicent. Corlys is right.
