  • Kevin Nash, wrestling's six-time World Heavyweight Champion and twelve-time Tag Team Champion, is inviting YOU to become an insider in the most exclusive band of rebels in the Podcast sphere! Kevin and his crew grabbed the wrestling business by the sack in the 90s and never let go, making his Kliq the most powerful faction in the history of the business, both on camera and off. They spent countless hours together, riffing on the business, the lifestyle, and everything else under the sun, and this podcast is no exception. Kevin left wrestling and built a successful career as an actor and guest on dozens of talk shows. His opinionated nature has made him the most requested guest of shoot interviews and network shows for more than a decade. Now, Kevin and his frequent host Sean Oliver, bring you all that you loved about their shows in this weekly podcast. No guest or topic is off-limits. Are you sweeeeet enough.......to be the next member of the Kliq?

Sean is a really good interviewer. Very humble in that he doesn’t overplay his knowledge, but, asks in a way that a interviewee is willing to expand (he is not “off putting”). These two guys put on an excellent conversational interview.

From my Sophomore through my Senior year of High School I worked in the kitchen as a dishwasher in a high-end Retirement Community. I had a female boss who was maybe about 40 or 45 at the time. She was about a 4/10 and she only rated that high because she had really good hygiene. I used to service her pretty regularly at work (she had a small suite at the place as part of her compensation). I worked 40 hours a week at $7/hour but she adjusted my hours to make it seem I worked 60 hours a week so I got 20 hours of overtime each week. This was '98-'01. I did not mind the relationship with her but I joined the Air Force after I graduated and never saw her again. She never pressured or forced me to do anything. But from like day 1 of me working there she was making friendly/flirtatious comments to me every day. I was 16 initially so it took me a while to figure out why she was being so friendly with me.

Say what you want but Vince developed Nash into a main event player, same for Hall and Austin and Hunter. They were going nowhere in wcw. Goes to show you that what you need the most is someone having confidence in you and not being afraid to give you the ball. Putting the title on Diesel was a major risk, and sometimes that's all the individual needs.

    • @crystalwater505

Vince's idea for Austin was The Ring Master, which flopped horribly. It was Austin's idea to become more of what he was and that's why he got hot. Triple H was still going nowhere in WWF, in fact, he didn't even get noticed until he was in DX, an idea of Shawn's. Also, he wouldn't be as big today if he hadn't had married Steph, let's be honest.
Diesel's title run nearly tanked the company also.

@@crystalwater505 You're not being "honest." HHH had heat as the Blueblood. It just was not a character he liked, nor saw as a lasting one to become a main eventer.
DX was not "Shawn's idea." All FIVE members of the Kliq wanted to live their real life group on TV. Vince kept saying no. Fast forward to Hall and Nash not only being pissed with their Creative, but cash too. So they leave. With the nwo they live out their bond as the outsiders. Hogan was irrelevant at that point, so leeched onto them to get hot again. After financial and ratings distress, Vince FINALLY allows Shawn and Hunter to do their backstage antics on TV through DX.
HHH always had a mind for the business. He was always the responsible and professional Kliq member Vince over time grew to like the most. He volunteered himself to Vince and Creative to pitch ideas for all talent, not just himself, long before Stephanie knew who he was. He absolutely would be a higher up whether he married Stephanie or not. And he already cemented himself as a legend before the nuptials.
It's a 2way street by the way. He can't force himself to marry Stephanie. She had to love him too.
No one becomes an all time wrestling star unless management takes the reigns off and let's them be themselves with the volume turned up. That's everyone. Not just Austin. HHH, Rock, Michaels, et al.

To borrow a phrase often used by two of my favorites, His Lordship Alfred Hayes and The Gorilla - who could have guessed the very thing that would put Vince down for the final three count would be the squared circle? Waka waka waka! 😕

What blows my mind about Nash is that in the 90s and 00s, he was the classic "boy" who used every trick in the book (WITH the book!) to bury everyone and get himself as over as he could, as dirty as he could. And it often wasn't best for business (see: The Streak ending, NWO 99, etc).
And he winds up mellowing out into one of the most level-headed, progressive, kind-hearted people of the wrestling community. Lol, I love the guy.

It was established long ago that he didnt have anything to do with ending goldbergs streak. Yeah he may not have spoke up against it but he didnt influence it either. Were talking about the company that did everything wrong. Its no surprise they did that too. And if the finish had been clean no one would care. Between the crap finish and the finger poke of doom the next night none of it made any sense and thats why he gets heat over it. But goldberg couldnt save wcw alone. They got what was coming.
