@@Millwall77 Problem was in the 80's they didn't know much about CTE and concussion, and the after effects so in turn they pretty much screwed themselves, that's unfortunately the risks they took

Charles Austin did not get 26 million because the WWF appealed the judgment. The case was settled for 10 million dollars.
In the original judgment Marty Jannetty was also supposed to pay 500,000. I do not know if he did so or if his part of the suit fell under the umbrella of the larger WWF settlement.

That guy wasn’t old. He was actually really young and new to the business and working as a Saturday morning jobber. I think WWE really wanted to keep that case quiet so they paid him extra not to talk about it. There was no way to keep Owens death quiet.

Unfortunately, anyone who has ever sued the WWE will probably never get inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. Over 60 wrestlers (and/or their families) were part of the failed concussion lawsuit that was settled in 2018.
