I know it's loud. Don't know if it's loud enough though. I don't know anyone with hearing problems to check this. Anyone here in the comments section has anything to say on this?
This is the best video review I have ever seen in my life. I don't even need an In-Ear System, but I want to buy this now. This is how good this video is.
Oh wow! This is how all reviews should be, covering pretty much every detail you'd expect and even ones that you don't even expect. I know this must've taken ages to put together so thank you for the effort
You give a very thorough review of whatever it is you're reviewing. I have used the xvive for guitars but never wireless microphones or in-ear monitor. Thank you for the heads up on all of this
I just bought a set for my first IEM's and already was excited, this review has me even more stoked! I definitely recommended my other band members to buy a set of their own so they have their own mixes live. Thanks man! You're great!
Just saw this detailed review (2 years later), and I must say that if "Review Awards" someday exist, you'll be an indisputable winner !!! That speaks to me all the more that I own a Soundcraft UI24R mixer... And about the fact that it’s only a mono unit, last month I asked on XVive Facebook page if they project a stereo/dual mode model IEM, and their response was : « We have plan for this stereo version »... COMING SOON ?... 😜
Regardless of WiFi signals from other types of devices, 20:25 is a single demonstration of 1 configuration of channels between mic & IEM systems. In my experience, using xVive's mic system & their IEM system at the same time results in at least 1 mic not working, especially if there are multiple systems used with multiple mics. I checked with the vendor, & they explained this is because the Xvive transmitter & receiver antennae are just too close together when they're plugged into the board - & it's silly to plug each one into a different XLR cable just to space them out far enough. While I'm keeping their wireless mic systems, this week I'm returning their IEM system to exchange for a traditional 900 mHz IEM system that has more than twice as many channels to choose from.
just picked up the u4 system. thanks for testing all the worst case scenarios and misuse cases. if it can survive that than using it normally should never be an issue.
Detailed as usual, amazing job by-the-way. You managed to answer all my questions and some that I didn't even know I needed to ask. Thank you for this!
Now this is a review! such detail. I bought one, and I'm pretty impressed, but haven't really had to use it while multiple wireless units were being used so we will see!
Excellent review! I bought one and I'm waiting to recieve it due to international shipping times. But to cope with my anxiety I keep watching reviews haha. Greetings from Uruguay!
Great Review MAX! One band that I manage the audio system for has just bought two U4 IEMs, and the mixer is a Soundcraft UI24R. This was the first issue I was concerned with, the typical 2.4GHZ transmitter. I have been wanting to change the UI24 settings to 5GHZ for many Months, now we will need to. Thank you for this review.
Very informative. Thanks. I’ve been seriously researching this product and this has really answered all of my questions. On another note, your english is very good. Have a great day. 🤘🏻
Wow what a review ! Thank you for all this work I think you can add to the cons list that it does not have an integrated limiter which seems a bit scary Is there any solution about this issue that I might not know about ?
Great attention to detail! I just got the U4/T9 package as a birthday present from my wife. I have not tried it out. I'm hoping the 2.4 GHz issue isn't too problematic. I will try to have the transmitter near me via an XLR cable from the snake return. It's a bit overwhelming.
Excellent review! Great detail. I put a digital system together for my band due to my failure to protect my hearing for most of my life, (tinnitus). I use the u4 system along with custom in-ears. My band is loud and some members are stubborn with stage volume. Last gig I experienced some sort of clipping, highs going in and out, like a dirty volume pott. I am technologically challenged and it’s probably a miracle that as a drummer I even put together this sound system. Can excessive volume on stage make this clipping happen? Again, thanks for the great video.
Well done, and thorough! I just ordered one, should be here tomorrow. Hoping it works as expected but you intrigued me with running the cable to the singer (in my case sax player/singer) location, do you just leave the unit on the floor, or hang it from the mic stand? I use a wireless mic on the sax, and at times have the receiver at my feet, other times it's by the sound board, depends upon the band I am with. Looking forward to testing it out. thanks!
Great review mate. Are you getting the monitor mixes from the app or the mixer? I’m trying to set up a recording and monitoring rig for my lads band, using an Ipad and an 8 input audio interface. I can get the main mix out to headphones easy enough but cant find a way of doing individual mixes. Any ideas?
Thanks. The mixer does that. We're really happy with this particular piece of gear. There are enough aux outputs. We use one of them for subwoofers and the rest are used for monitoring
I am totally knew to this type of monitoring system Thanks for taking your time to make my life so much easier when dealing with the hook up. I'm a solo singer/guitarist, so I think this system will serve my purpose perfectly! I'm using a simple Mackie Pro FX12 Version 2 and an HK Polar 10 column. Where should I connect the transmitter? ........ to the headphone jack or monitor out to get best results. (I'm revealing just how little I know about this new venture.) Thanks again for the awesome video!
Best review i've seen on this! One question: I read it has no built in limiter. How important/dangerous is this issue? (Especially when other wireless devices could cause interferences with the signal.)
Thanks. Right, no limiter. Do you mean the interference may sometimes cause loud pops? It's probably 1 time out of 100 dropouts. So generally if you see the connection is stable and there are no tons of dropouts, it should be fine. Although, once in a while I have experienced loud pops with U3 on stage during the soundcheck. Never during the gig
@@MaxSoloMusic Yes, maybe loud noises due to picking up other signals. Don't have more expensive in ear systems (like Shure) for these kind of reasons the limiter in their receiver packs? Or is the limiter only built into the sending unit? The point is, I am looking for a convenient in ear system to plug into just my bass amp, to hear myself clearly in rehearsals (instead of just using hearing protection) and for smaller gigs. But the fact that there would be no limiter in the line holds me off :/
Sure! Because the output provides a line level audio signal which is much stronger than what a mic produces. So, to avoid clipping the input sensitivity of the transmitter shall be matched with the audio source
Only one question : is it stereo or mono ? Why put headphones if it's mono ? If it's mono it is ridiculous... Do you know the same equipment for stereo sound in the same price ? Many thanks in advance. Phil from Dunkirk
I have a problem with my device , the reciever and transmitter only connect to each other witlhin a distantie of 4 inch further they disconnect. Do you know what the problem may be ....
I would love to use a system like this with my iems, just too bad the system is still very expensive, at Thomann this system is in dkk almost 1800kr but I can get a Bluetooth system that works but is nowhere as good for 150kr
Hi. Excellent review! I do have a question you may be able to answer. I am trying to record vocals and hear myself while singing in the home studio I'm building. I don't have a mixer, but I have a Scarlett Solo audio interface. Could I use the U4 with the Scarlett going through a DAW? Thank you!
Well, if you can connect your headphones to the Scarlett directly, than in case with U4 you'd be plugging the transmitter into it instead. So yeah, it will work. As long as you're monitoring through the DAW there will be some latency
The most important aspect for me is dropouts onstage. The U2 for me was utterly hopeless onstage. We have a few different wireless systems in our band and no matter what channel’s used the U2 dropped signal most of the time. I used it that one time only and sent it back. Xvive admitted to me that that U2 didn’t interact well with other wireless systems in the same room. Pretty useless.
Hi thanks for the explanation, can you please clarify, the mono when listening, is it mono both sides, or listening to your mix or instrument in one side?
I’ve been advised to use earphones with 100 ohm impedance, do you think this receiver can power such high impedance adequately during a rock performance.
Thanks so much, this is awesome. Just to add to the compatibility with the U3 (not 3c) I already own the U3 transmitter and receiver and I wanted to buy the U4 receiver only and use the U3 transmitter. It looks like it's compatible based on what you demonstrate here but I am concerned about the low volume when you used the condenser mic to demonstrate. Basically what I'd like to do is use the U3 transmitter out of an Aux channel in our QSC Touch Mix 16 and send that signal to my U4. It looks like it works but is the volume strong enough? Just wondering what your thoughts are. Thanks again for doing this!
Is this system loud enough for a hearing impaired musician to use?
I know it's loud. Don't know if it's loud enough though. I don't know anyone with hearing problems to check this. Anyone here in the comments section has anything to say on this?
This is the best video review I have ever seen in my life. I don't even need an In-Ear System, but I want to buy this now. This is how good this video is.
This is definitely how a proper review is done!
Oh wow! This is how all reviews should be, covering pretty much every detail you'd expect and even ones that you don't even expect. I know this must've taken ages to put together so thank you for the effort
Again, just like my comment in your other video, this is how a review should be done. Nice!
Your disassembly is what helped me decide on this product! I'm all about servicing and maintaining equipment.
I didn’t skip a single second, amazing review
This is the best description of anything I've seen. You came up with scénarios i was wondering about but thought no one would ever cover,, thank you
What a nice product!! You show it with so much talent!! Video, sound, information, edition... Congrats!
Best review about this unit until now! Top!
You give a very thorough review of whatever it is you're reviewing. I have used the xvive for guitars but never wireless microphones or in-ear monitor. Thank you for the heads up on all of this
Hi! Thank you so much for the great review, you waved my doubt and bought xvive U4R2 because of you. Cheers. - Venzon from Philippines

I appreciate your review. I bought a U4 sight unseen and after your review i feel confident it will meet my needs

I just got this unit. Other members of the band are using them. Haved used it yet.
Great review ... great honesty ... Very good Max!
Great review, I have the UI24 and U4, I've found a 1.5 metre patch is best to avoid wifi blocking the UI24
Amazing review as always. Do u have anything similar to recommend that's stereo and has similar size?
Excellent video. Your information I accurate and there is no unnecessary talking. Keep up the great work.
thank you for your detailed review Max, helpful
The best reviewer ever.
This is the most indepth and honest review. Thanks 😊

We've got the same mixer (Ui24r), it's a beast of a mixer! :P
Great review, very exhaustive!!
Отличный обзор, только почему не проверил расстояние, на котором он может работать? Видел в отзывах люди писали, что работает максимум на 9 метров.

Where's your video with stereo IEM setup you mentioned? Can't see it anywhere in your channel.
So if I get it right. Using 6 of them fot a Band of 6 people wouldn't be that great?
Respect fot the review, you answered all the questions I had.
very useful video and i thank you for it. it gives me confidence that this system would be perfect for me as a single performer.
Glad it was helpful!
Good video! Justo lo que buscaba, lo explicaste todo! Thank you!
Brilliant explaining.
Do you recommend for singers to hear ourselves, and some of the backing track , how can I make this happen. Thanks
Thanks for a great review. Can you explain why you set the transmitter to LINE when plugging into the AUX output at 6:58?
Sure! Because the output provides a line level audio signal which is much stronger than what a mic produces. So, to avoid clipping the input sensitivity of the transmitter shall be matched with the audio source
@@MaxSoloMusic So the AUX setting is used when the input signal is coming from a low level output such as a headphone jack, correct?
amazing video you are the best
excellent review. concise. thorough and straight forward. thank you!

If it's mono it is ridiculous...

Бро спасибо за обзор, приходилось ли тебе их сравнить с дорогими Синхайзер или Шур? Насколько большая разница? И как себя ведёт xvive на сцене?
This was absolutely excellent, thank you very very very much!
Can you use the transmitter from the xvive mic kit with this receiver??
Excellent review. WAAAAY better than i would be able to do 😊 Thanks very much!
Excellent review!! Thanks man.
Thank you so much 🙏❤
Great. Thanks
This was such a great review!
Will I get the same mono signal in both ears or just one since it’s mono?
Thank you Max! Great review!
