In today's video we are checking out an affordable wireless in ear monitor system that is on 5.8Ghz (not the dreaded 2.4Ghz). This is the NUX B7PSM portable in ear monitor system. I've been gigging with it over the weekend, and it's a great IEM system!

🔥UPDATE:🔥
So it appears that half the comments say they like the system, and half the comments are saying they are having problems with the system being distorted or too much hiss. I reached out to NUX and this was the response I got:
The NUX B-7PSM is a stereo and wireless system, which means that the raw data size is double that of a mono wireless in-ear monitoring system. To ensure a stable connection, we have to compress the raw data to some extent, which results in a loss of sound quality and causes high frequency distortion. This distortion is more noticeable when playing guitar alone and using the system for quiet practice. However, it is still great for live performances and band rehearsals where multiple instruments are mixed together, and the distortion situation is dramatically reduced.
So please keep that in mind. I used these at loud concerts, so that makes sense. I still stand by my review, and I always have these with me as a backup. Recently, we did a one-off gig in Dominican Republic with a fill-in guitar player, and he didn't know we needed ears. So I let him borrow these. I asked how they worked for him and he said they were great and he wanted to buy a pair for himself. Just wanted to let you know I'm getting mixed reviews on these, but they are working well for me. - Видеоклипы
Hey guys, thanks for watching. Here are some common questions I'm getting in the comments as well as an update!
1) Yes, it is stereo. You'll need a splitter cable to get 2 inputs from your mixer in order to use it truly in stereo, but the system IS stereo.
2) You can use multiple systems at once. Turn on the first one, let it pair, wait a few seconds, then turn on the next one and it will find the next frequency. I don't recommend using a LOT of cheap wireless though. Watch this video to find out why: ruclips.net/video/Xgw96rY4TAc/видео.html
3) The winner of the drawing has been notified. Thanks for entering! More coming soon :)

This IS part of the risk of buying cheaper wireless stuff. It will work for some, but not for others.
Hi Scott! Thank you so much for all your content and reviews! I'm hoping you can maybe help me, I just bought this system and I tried plugging it into the headphone out of both my Katana Air and HX Stomp and I'm getting this horrible fizzy noise like it's distortion from the source being too loud. No matter where I put the volume knob on either of those it sounds off. I tested it by plugging into my Macbook's headphone out and listening to some music and it worked, although if I listened to rock/metal sometimes it distorted again during the louder guitar parts. Do you have any tips for this? I'd hate to have wasted money on it just for it to be unusable. :(
If it’s working on one system (your Mac) but then not on your other system (your guitar stuff), then I would problem solve there. You are likely sending too hot of a signal to the IEM system from those devices and it’s causing it to distort. Hope that helps!
@@ScottUhlMusic Thanks for your response! Do you have any tips for making the signal less hot? As I said turning down the volume knob doesn't work. Maybe some kind of converter / cable or routing it through to a mixer / interface?
Try using the send block on the hx stomp, and plug the IEM into the send port on the hx stomp. With the send block you can chose the gain and how much signal is being sent to your ears. 👍
@@ScottUhlMusic Tried it, no dice...fizziness/distortion is still there when I plug it into anything other than a computer headphone out port. Even tried passing through mixers with RCA etc. and nothing worked. I might give an attenuator cable a try or a DI box but I'm not even sure those can solve it. I'm hoping if I invest in something like the Sennheiser XSW it won't have these issues. :( Thank you very much for your time and advice!
As a 78 yr old gigging bassist. I can see where this would benefit me. At this stage...simple = better ! Thanks for the info!
Nux are coming up with some surprisingly good products of late. A serious competitor in guitar accessories. I could do with this system in my small home studio, giving me freedom of movement, where the clutter of cables is an ongoing battle.
It has been really useful finding your channel. You have approached so many budget options for IEM and wireless options. Truly appreciate your perspective.
That is great to see that there are affordable IEMs to buy. That is cool! Thanks presenting equipment that is important for gigging musicians. I have passed on alot of your info to other musicians in my circle!! Keep up the great work!!
Thanks for the review-I’ve been comparing different models, watching reviews for everything on the cheaper end of these setups and this looks like a really good option. It’s between this and the XVive…the case is a real seller, and USB-C helps too. I especially like how you pointed out it’d be good option to just hear yourself directly, even if you can’t get the entire mix. As a brass player that little bit really helps. Chops go out the window quick if you’re playing too loud in effort to hear yourself.
Thanks to NUX for raising the technology bar. And to YOU for continuing to raise the knowledge bar for us. Thanks for helping me get started with MIDI, too.
Thanks!
Thanks for the succinct review! Learning about IEM systems can turn onto such a rabbit hole, so this kind of info and advice is appreciated.
Scott...thanks so much. Your videos are incredible...clear, concise, very well done!
I use Senheizer with my band and Xvive for small acoustic gigs or home practice. I'm constantly impressed with how good the less expensive options are getting.
That’s the right way to do it!
As a drummer and audio engineer, I'm always interested in these kind of wireless IEM options. Have been looking into the XVive system but wasn't convinced since it's still mono. Unbelievable this is a stereo one but still has the compact design. Really appreciate your reviews Scott, very helpful!
The XVive is not reliable at some of my venues…. Def going to look into another system. Used it for both acoustic and electric gui.
With many other music related tasks to work on, which keep me from taking time to research gear such as this, it's so nice to have your videos for reference on what's new, cool, or better, etc. Thanks! This will be a great alternative to lugging my full sized IEM rig to gigs.
I really appreciate all the hard work you put into these videos. Rock on.
I can't believe how many musicians are reluctant to utilize IEM systems. I personally love them!
Best investment a musician can make IMO 🤘
There are two really cool things going on here: one, NuX breaking the mold with the 5.8G at an affordable price. Two, you are reviewing these systems and sharing all your knowledge with the world. As someone who has never gigged, but is interested in transitioning my gear toward a more professional capacity, I find your videos invaluable. I never know where to begin, or even know what to try and, more valuably, what to avoid. Thanks for the help, man 👍🏼
Thanks! Glad to help 🤘
Great and well thought out review. They all are as a matter of fact. Thanks for sharing the knowledge.
Thanks for the review Scott!!! This exactly what I’ve been looking for. Definitely going to have to get my hands on this.
Thanks, Scott - appreciate the detailed review! Have relied on some of your past reviews while sorting out my own IEM setup. Nice to have a solid 5.8 option.
These are even stereo?! Holy crap, we live in an age of absolute technical insanely awesome stuff!!
And time wise, we are still only at the beginning. Love these videos Scott, thank you for your thorough reviews and honest opinions. It really helps!
Are they actually stereo??
@@devoncomposition Yes!! Mind bogling, isn't it? You do need a splitter cable thought, to get from 2 outputs from your mixer to go to the single (stereo) input on the NUX, but yeah, still stereo!
Great video. Informative as ever. NU-X make nice gear at realistic prices. Added these to my ‘wish list’. Keep up the great work Scott! 👍
Thank you for the review. We got notified today that the Digital board we had ordered just can in. Great timing.
Great video! Very informative. Thanks for all the hard work you put into these videos! I’ve learned a lot from watching these.
Your reviews are always useful and valued. Thanks for the insights for the working musicians!
This looks like a great solution. Thanks for all the info and for making the research a lot easier (since you do all the work). I need to get this and then hopefully get the rest of my band on board.
G’day from australia. So glad you are in touch with the tech developments and can review for the rest of us.
Have been using wired in-ear monitors and took a bit to get used to but now love them. Can't wait to try these, now that they are at such an awesome price point! Thanks for sharing!!
I've been following you and looking at all your in ear monitors. This is the one for me. I'm over the loud stage sound. Thanks for the great content.
Pete.
That's actually a really dope system! Wouldn't have learned about it without this video. I've been looking into getting gear for my band to start doing shows independently, but this is something I could probably use immediately!
Thank you for always notifying the rest of us working musicians with the info on truly affordable gear options that make our life better. I've enjoyed watching your informational based videos and your no nonsense down to earth reviews. Keep up the great work.
Thank you 😊
I’ve been the sound guy for my band, and we’ve been looking for a good budget monitoring system like these for some time now. Thanks for making the video! Yours are always super informative.
Really appreciate all of your guidance as I'm getting back to gigging after a very long time out. Will check these out for sure!
This brings so much flexibility to one’s rig and options. Thanks for sharing and great review.
I've been looking for a wireless in-ear system, and I had not yet heard of this one. I think it's a front-runner now! Great review!
Damn, Nux have stepped up again. I have the guitar wireless and it never misses a beat, the charge case is invaluable. I'm currently building an IEM rack so I've gotta give these a go! Your videos have definately helped me enter the world's if IEM
WOW! I just found you. I have been waiting for this!! Great Job!!
Man you find the coolest stuff……definitely checking these out. Like you I have been waiting for something like this. Thanks for the review!!
I love my 5.8ghz guitar system. I've been wanting to see this video from you, thanks for it.
You make really good videos! They’re very detailed and full of information. Thanks 😊
Thanks Scott appreciate all the work you put in your vids to educate us!
I always look forward to your videos. Always so informative and entertaining. Really appreciate you reviewing the most affordable stuff, but now you make me spend more $ on great gear than I ever have! Lol!
I've been waiting for this, I already got the guitar unit based upon your review and it works like a charm. Would love one of these!
Hey man, appreciate all the info you’ve shared with us all. Definitely nice to have someone help navigate what can be a pretty confusing part of live sound and performance.
I really appreciate your reviews. They're super in-depth and answer every single question one might have about gear. I always check on your recommendations before buying stuff like this.
Thank you!
I've been waiting for this too! Haven't bought them yet. Good to see they don't disappoint.
I love how you check it for yourself out and actually using it. Your channel is a hugh plus and i hope you can growth faster and test even more things. Thanks for your good work and keep it up. Greetings from Germany.
Thank you!
These are so epic! As a drummer I often don’t need to go wireless but something like this is great for this shows where I stand on other instruments without breaking the bank!
Every video of yours I watch, my band's tech gets elevated. Thanks for that!
Thanks! 🤘🤘
Thanks Scott. I love the NUX kit. I bought the guitar system after watching your review. Great quality, and excellent sound. As you say, the ability to charge in the case is so convenient.
I’ve been using both NUX wireless systems for guitar and dynamic microphone for few years now, and if anyone asks me, no one can beat the versatility and quality of those sets. Can’t wait to try this new set! Thanks for review!
I have been researching in ear systems. This looks to be a great solution at a decent price point. Thank you for the review!
Been watching all your stuff over the last week, Very informative. This does indeed look like a great option for a backup system.
Thanks for watching!
Love this!
The NUX stuff is good. Their acoustic amps are out of this world, and for half the price of an AER amp, they knock them out of the park!
This is so awesome. Thanks for the video 😊 finally 5.8 GHz and then it is sooooo tiny and the chargeable Case....just pure awesomeness. Thanks for your effort - always great to watch your videos
This is awesome! As with all your other reviews, this was great information. You have helped reduce the weight of my ampless rig considerably. Thank you for all you do for us working musicians
Thanks!
Hey Scott. Must be the tenth wireless video from you I've watched and again, really great quality and really useful. Thanks man.
Thank you 😊
Hi Scott. I’ve watched many of your videos, and finally subscribed. Thanks for all your helpful info. Gigging musicians on a budget really appreciate what you do.
Thanks for subscribing! 🤘
Great to know about this ! Thanks for the information man.
I have been on the lookout for some inears and what not the past few months, and this dropped onto my RUclips recommendation page. Instantly subscribed. Thanks for the info on the Nux wireless iem system
Thanks for subscribing!
Thanks so much, Scott has been looking for this for my single and duo gigs. Perfect Thank you again
Hi there Scott! Your Channel is the BEST for learning about how to be prepared for a gig. I have learned so much about It on your Channel. Thanks for every episode!!! I apreciate It a lot. Take care
Thank you! 😊
Yeah Scott! Another great vid!🙏🏽🤙🏾🏝️
These Seem like a cool set of in-ear kit. I may need to get these for church. Thanks for an awesome review!
Scott! Another great run down on some very interesting gear!
I have been thnking about going wireless in ears (again) for a while, and this looks perfect for what I need. I have just stumbled on your channel, now am subscribed, and really REALLY like your fast, in depth (and working musician who can use good but affordable gear) reviews. Glad I found your channel. I bet there are a lot more tips you have that will work for me. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for the sub and for the kind words. Glad you like the channel! 🤘🤘
Great vid. Thanks for the info. Easy to understand and great practical information!
I've literally been waiting for this feature set for years!
Just what my vocalist and I are looking for. Thanks for the review. Cheers from Perth, Western Australia.
Oh wow, this would be a great addition to our new IEM rack! Especially the portable aspect is a huge plus as we do not have room left.
Thank you for the great review! Would be exciting to get these to play with! Very exciting!
Great video! This is just what I’ve been looking for
Thanks Scott. love the new look of your video. You have a very helpful channel and interesting content.
Thanks! This new camera upgrade has been extremely helpful!
It always amazes me how more and more accessible tech is becoming. Not too long ago, an in ear setup was for the big names when they toured - same with cutting the cord from guitar to amp. Of course, now amps aren't needed on the stage, nor are the wedge monitors! I have some sennheiser iem's that fit snugly, so all I need now to complete the picture is the transmitter and receiver. I get a lot out of your content, in particular the HX stomp and HX fx videos. I had no idea just how much of a deep dive I can go with them! So thank you for all the advice. Cheers dude!
Thanks! Glad you have found the videos helpful 🤘
Great video as always. Ive been looking forward to something like this for my rig
Thanks!
Great review! Exactly what I was looking for! Thanks!
Great Video, Scott! Keep it up👍🏻
I will defiantly check this system out.
At last an affordable solution for our little band (Springers) in Spain. I’m going down (from UK) on Sunday and will show your review to the rest of the guys. Many thanks Scott! 👍
Charging case in a system like that is the coolest thing ever. Deffenitly going on my buy list once I feel comfotrable enough with my skills to gig :)
Nice review. I am about to embark on wireless IEM for the first time. Ordering the headphones to get started!
Yup, perfect back up system for my Shure rig and just love it that its stereo as well. Thx for the review!
Wish I would have known about these a month ago. Thanks for the great videos!
Man thats really cool and it's what I needed the whole time!
Thanks for the video! The charging case on the Nux guitar system is awesome. That is definitely not an overrated feature.
Scott, I've just found your channel not so long ago and I've learned a lot from you already. Thanks! 🙂
Thank you!
This is the first video I’ve seen of yours great job!…also been looking for something like this for awhile now definitely gonna check them out…🔥
More gold! Thank you for the great review Scott. This is a great price point for all you get too. \m/
Just getting my group into in ears. Have already had issues with getting stepped on. This unit sounds great. Thanks for the review.
this is such a cool and affordable IEM solution. Thanks for sharing!
This is awesome! I wish I could have one of these. Awesome content by the way, thank you!
Useful review, thanks for the detailed look at this IEM system--definitely highly considering upgrading to a set!
Glad it was helpful!
I have been looking for a good but cheap IEMS, your videos help me find the best one. Thanks man!
Glad to help!
Great video. I've been looking at wireless systems for church but having so many different wireless units made me nervous about trying one. This unit may be the ticket!
Oh my! Such a great solution for what I need and is very affordable! Didn't know this option exists! Definitely looking forward to owning one😊
Another great informative video. Thank you!
I’ve been waiting for something like this. Thanks for reviewing “cheap” wireless systems! Really helps a ton for broke-asses like myself! Keep up the good work! 👍
Thanks 🤘
Nice work again mate. Solid videos no BS.
Appreciate your work and being straight forward.
Thank you!
Thanks for the info. Been looking for a recommendation on in ears.
Love this, I’ve been looking to get into IEMs. I think I’m going to start with this.
Great review. Definitely fills a niche. I will probably pick up a set for the same reasons... Thumbs up!!
Awesome review, I've been curious about real world experience with these so this is really helpful.
I look forward to try this system myself in some time. It seems like a great device. Great review
This is a great little system to keep in my pedalboard case for venues that don't have wireless IEMs!
