@@klausschlobluvsmesometwood4679 The entire fleet of 86 jet just underwent upgrades with 36 undergoing even more upgrades. They actually shot down a balloon, the guns just dont bring them down right away.
I'd assume that L3 did the 94 birds that got HEP-1 mods and are currently working on the batch of 36 lowest-hour Hornets that are getting HEP-2 upgrades. HEP-2 was scheduled to IOC in '23. Pretty deadly bird. AESA radar allows full range AIM-120D3+ envelope AIM-9X Block-II make the Hornet a potent Air-AIr threat and with the new AGM-158C JSOW Joint Stand Off Weapon with its "break down the door, enter, then detonate" 2 stage BROACH warhead. Same warhead tech displayed against Russian navy-Storm Shadow. Precision guidance and up to 130 kms of standoff range. Impressive capability for Canada.
@@hoghogwild Hi there. APG 83's for Canadians Hormets? It is at least 2 millions per radar. I'm curious, where did you see that? That's a huge upgrade/expense for a 40 years old fighter.....
Awesome, i was wondering where our 4 operational Hornets were...
Thanks for your service eh Canada 🇨🇦
You are ignorant of the facts about the balloon. Don’t waste our time with your stupid remarks.

@@klausschlobluvsmesometwood4679 These jets did great service in 2009 when the USA F-15s were grounded from NORAD duties.
smooth landing
Beautiful and awesome takeoff on these RCAF F/A-18C Hornet 😎
Thanks Douglas - much appreciated :)
@@TransportMemories much welcome my friend, cheers 😎👍
RCAF CF-18A++. We never got any C's or D's. All A's and B's.
@@hoghogwild ooo thanks buddy for sharing and just learned something new hehe 😃
Nice 🇨🇦🇬🇧
Cheers - they were nice to see over here in the UK :)
The last plane to take off with the tail design I think that’s the squadron Leader
No this one was 2021 demo team aircraft thats why it was painted .
Thoses fighters are very well maintained and constantly upgraded to the NATO standards by L3 Harris in Montreal.
Can't get parts for them anymore. They are obsolete.
@@jody-ne7xs There's parts all over the place.
@@jody-ne7xs They get the parts at Best Buy.

Who else also heard 2 rollingggg, dcs wingman 😂
I kinda thought so.
Those RCAF planes are ancient. Using RAAF spare parts after Australia got rid of their similar aged F18’s
not quite only a few
Same as the Finns, Swiss and the Spanish.
Pretty sure the aussies are still running there's as well

They have 24 left.
We bought 25 lower hour RAAF airframes, 17 to fly, 8 for parts/training. These jets will be flying through 2032. Fifty years of service for the type.
Using ex RAAF airframes to keep going We've nearly got all our F35s now 😂
Our dont start arriving until 2026, with the last of 88 coming in 2032.
How sad
40 year old jets that need 30 hours of maintenance every time they go wheel up.
You make it sound as though that's a massive amount of maintenance.
