    For me the issue was getting over the fact that yes you can and must throttle and brake at the same time. This is counterintuitive for most people as you do not do this in a car. I like your videos a lot and realize that this skill as well as other skills requires regular practice. Thanks!

    This is a cool exercise, and it also helps to "trust and believe" that the bike absolutely will-not-fall as long as it's moving! Even if it's moving slow. I still will have to put my foot down occasionally when the brain forgets and goes into fear mode, but that's ok! As long as those times become less and less frequent.

    I'm never in a hurry to get to a red light. I practice slow riding every time I am on the road in traffic. Not as good as a well trained motor officer, but not a foot dragger either. I one time saw a Fairfax Va Motor officer do the slow ride while playing Led Zeppelin's Stairway to Heaven. Older guy, gray hair handlebar mustache. He did that ride in like 4 minutes plus. Using the centrifugal force of the HD V-twin engine, foot brake, throttle and the friction zone better than I have ever seen it done. Amazing.

    Thank you for putting this out there. Been riding for 30 years and didn't ever think about any of this stuff. I make every error you talk about. Is staying in friction zone hard on the clutch? Seems like these techniques "slip" the clutch a lot for power control. I have always been all in or all out on the clutch. I am not afraid of getting physically hurt doing these drills but I am afraid of being financially hurt if I drop my bike or tear up the clutch.

    • @BeTheBossOfYourMotorcycle
      @BeTheBossOfYourMotorcycle  Год назад

      Your motorcycle has a wet clutch. It’s designed to be ridden in the friction zone. It should also be noted that a clutch is a maintenance item on your motorcycle.

    whats the deference from reving and pre loading and keeping bit loaded

      Good question Kev. Reving is also known as blipping the throttle. Preloading is also reving, but it's keeping the throttle steady consistently.👍🏾

    Wouldn't riding in the friction zone burn up the clutch?

      If you’re motorcycle has a wet clutch, it’s designed to be operated in the friction zone.

      You won’t if you do it properly. Don’t have your RPM’s excessively high and it shouldn’t be done for long periods at a time.
