My husband and I are now learning to ride to spend time together and tour our country Trinidad and Tobago. He's a Retired Soldier so he wishes to congratulate you on your service to the NYPD. Your videos are very informative and inspiring. We enjoy your videos and will use them when we attend training. Continue your great work of giving back, you will be eternally blessed. Love from Trinidad and Tobago🇹🇹🇹🇹
As I'm watching the close out of this video I'm thinking, how is he getting these overhead shots ? A drone ? Can't be, imagine going down the road (and passing a cop) with a drone flying 3 feet over your head. No way ! Aha! At about 19:00 I see it. The shadow of the selfie stick! Another example of your efforts to show braking techniques. We are grateful.

So informative. I'm back into riding after 17 years away from cycles. I'm now 75, completed the MSF course last year, and discovered my balance and skill level had diminished considerably over the years. I'm learning more and practicing more all the time. Your videos, knowledge, and presentation are AWESOME. Life is a learning process throughout, and MC riding is serious business. Thank you for your police service. I am an Army Veteran, and worked for DOD weapon system testing for 30+ years. Cycle riding is so relaxing in my retirement years, but continue to hone my skills each time I don the helmet.

Enjoyed it! That video you made with Tom, the rider from Texas was awesome! When he fell the first time i was feeling for him but he didn’t give up and you didn’t let him. To find out he has cancer is awful, he’s the kind of guy you root for always! A friend and i are looking to ride down to GA one weekend and join the class, we’re coming from SC. My hope is to ride and handle my SG at least half as good as you LT. You do it so effortlessly. This Jersey PreLoader has a long, long way to go! Stay safe my brother.
Thanks Milton! As soon as that snow melts, we'll get to work!👍🏾 Because the beauty is what you hope for is easily attainable via practice!👍🏾😊 You got this brother!!!
I just took the HD class and your videos provided so much vital information to assist me. I really appreciate your generosity in providing your wisdom and experience to all of us eager to learn.
Hey LT, so glad to see the channel growing! I love the part with you riding with your 360 camera, and the added bubbles describing your actions. Another educational tool. Continued success and I hope to see you soon!
Hi Robert I am going back out on the street but with a much larger bike, your slow riding techniques are amazing. I have just made a folder on my desk top with some of your videos for me to practice and execute. Thank you very much
I want to improve my riding so I've subscribed & hit the notification. Done my basic riding training in London - here we call it CBT Compulsury Basic Training. I'm allowed to ride up to 125cc so after I've passed my CBT in 19th April, right away I bought a manual 125cc Keeway Superlight, insured & taxed it. Two weeks on the road now - I've had near misses probably due to lack of experience but so far my confidance is growing daily as I ride to work almost daily. I've bought myself cones & will start going to a quiet parking lot to practice. Thanks Officer Simmons for inspiring a random guy like me accross the world who previously had no interest in motorcycle to now be a motorcyclist :)
Hey Franck. Thank you for watching and subscribing!👍🏾😁 I’m happy that my channel has been helpful to you! That makes all the time and effort that I put into this so worthwhile!
One thing i picked up on from the practice video at the end was the use of the front brake, and how i have been using it too much below 20-15 mph and how little i have been using my rear brakes appropriately. Thanks for another great video!
That parking lot looked like something outta The Walking Dead! Definitely useful to do u turn if walkers coming 😂 Always useful Robert, and always makes me itching to practice!
Thank you so much Robert for sharing your knowledge to keep us safe. Just yesterday a driver pulled out in front of me. Thankfully I had kept both brakes covered, thanks to awareness, new tires, and ABS brakes I came to quick stop less than an inch from her from door. Looking me straight in the eye she grinned, never slowed down and went on down the road.
I want to say Thank you for sharing your videos. Riding motorcycles all my life I realized after watching your videos that my slow speed maneuvers just sucked. So went out found a parking lot and after just a few times out I’m doing left and right u-turns two up (rights were a nono for me before now) figure eights and controlled stops and starts are so much better. Realized through your videos that the clutch now keeps my feet on the bike! I never realized that preload and clutch pulled me out of a feeling like it was falling over. Thank you again and look forward to doing more slow speed training and being the boss of my motorcycle!
Robert, I made an observation at around the 13:45 to the 13:51 mark, as you are approaching, your lights are not very bright. You did blend into the background; I thought I’d mention it. Keep up the good work.
Thank you, Officer Robert! That's a well made video and of course kudos to your wife too! I have subbed your channel sometime back and I love the idea of "Preload". That's helping me a lot when I make those turns. I have learned a lot from Officer Jerry Motorman's videos and good to see the content you post. I ride a CVO Electra Glide and could use these lessons to keep the shiny side up. I do make it a point to get some practice in a parking lot every time I go out for a ride. Keep up the good work! Cheers
Rob, the description verbiage is awesome, it exceeds even my expectations. Now I can go to a parking lot, open up the video, drop into the description box and then run through the exercises. Thank you so much for doing that!
Thanks, Robert, for the great info and demonstrations!Damnation, you represent the motorcycle police community (motormen) very well in your actions, mental approach, positive attitude...and, of course, slow speed maneuvers! Keep up the great work!
You make those U-turns look easy. I'll be there one day soon. Great camera views at the end. Always looking forward to your next video. Keep them rolling!!
1st, that camera is awesome. I almost thought it was a drone flying over you. 2nd, please understand this man is as good as it gets. This is probably more than 20 years of real world experience in the busy city of NYC! He didn't practice for a couple hours and go to a busy parking lot making u-turns with cars and traffic around. An empty parking lot is the best place to practice these drills, I did it myself this weekend and it helped a lot. I took my hard bags off (in case I dropped it) and just 30 minutes of practicing u-turns made a difference. I plan on trying to tighten it up again this weekend.
Thank you very much Jason!👍🏾 Keep practicing and remember it doesn’t have to be extremely tight. As long as you can make a u-turn with CONFIDENCE, the main goal has been met!😊
Hi, thank you for the great support. I will try to implement the lesson with my new Road King 2021. Many thanks and greetings from Rawai Phuket Thailand
It’s my pleasure. 😊 Thank you for watching and hopefully you’re subscribed!👍🏾😊 I’m happy that my channel has been helpful to you! That makes all the time and effort that I put into this so worthwhile!
Great info sir! I've recently been trying to master the iron cross at a local motorcycle police course. It's very challenging but it's amazing how much head and eyes help. Keep up the good work!
Hello Robert ; here in france the weather has been rainy since several months , i am hurry to see the sun ,to try your techniques ; thak you for your work , it is précious !!!!!!!
Unfortunately stuck in with a foot of snow outside. This weekend's storm up here is still ongoing. Got to even go dig out the vehicle to go anywhere too haha. Maybe be able to get the bike out again in a week. The patio outside the garage is mostly shaded so it takes longer to melt.
Hey Rob I asked you in another video about the minimum amount of cones I need to start practicing. You asked me what I wanted to do and replied with some details of my riding history and what I wanted to do. I know you are a busy man and I love that you pay it forward. Maybe you didn't see my response. Cheers Peter
@@BeTheBossOfYourMotorcycle I used to work out of Brunswick, GA about 45 minutes south of Pooler on I-95... Loved riding those Georgia roads... if you get a chance hit HWY 17 south stop at "skippers" in Derian, GA you wont be disappointed!..
Another fantastic video Robert. Love the ending ride with captions. Confirms I'm using front brake and then rear brake correctly at stops. Keep it pre-loaded!

Another great video brother, keep them coming. Your editing skills and effects are really getting good as well. Nothing but respect for you from the snowed in northeast!
Great video, I'm retired LEO from the MP251 on the NYS T-way area, it always makes me laugh to see the duck walk ppl do at events like Bike Week and other events. After retirement I drove big truck to NYC, but never rode bike in the city. I hope to do the Blue Knights ride of the five boroughs some day. Also I see you got the hell out of NYC, smart move the way stuff is going on now. Be safe and take care, and watch out for the cager's! I sold my 09 Road Glide few years ago and got a 2021 Can Am Spyder RT Limited, easy making U turns now.
A new admirer from the UK. Having moved on from my FatBob to BMW R18 Classic I am most definitely in need of your advice. Looking forward to getting onboard.
What a great video. I really enjoyed the end where you were just riding around and broke down different things you were doing and why you did them. I got my motorcycle license back in late 2016 but I never bought a motorcycle. I’m planning on finally getting one soon and your channel will help me tremendously since I will definitely need to practice the basics. I’ll most likely take a class again, and I’ll be practicing quite a bit in the parking lot of a school that’s just down the street from me.

Hi there. Love the video. I guess I am a new preloader. So glad I stumbled onto your channel. I have been riding 4 years and still struggling with u-turns and slow maneuvers. Love the 360* camera view. And the riding tips. I am from Southern California so I won’t be able to join the practice. Keep up the great videos. I need the motivation to keep riding my own. Thank you.
Hi Evelyn. Thank you for watching and subscribing!👍🏾 Welcome to the Preloader family!!😁 Also, thank you for the compliments! Do you practice now, outside of riding?
Robert, 30 year OTJ LT here but only riding for 6 months. I hope to join the retired ranks soon and spend as much saddle time as possible exploring the country on my Royal Star Tour Deluxe. Thanks for the awesome videos! You're an excellent instructor, thanks brother.
Bonus Footage: Robert, how in the world do you get those camera shots that are above you like it's a drone? Is it?? Just amazing footage, camera work & editing. Thanks
Ok, Lt. As a side benefit to watching all your videos my wife has surprised me. We have a game room and play daily Billiards, Ping Pong, and Shuffleboard. She is beating me half the time and her form is impeccable. I asked her what changed? She says she is Preloading before each shot with stance, calmness, and focus after watching videos herself! Thank you my brother. p.S. I bought a 2011 Harley Davidson Sportster XL883 with only 561 miles on it.

I just found your channel and I've been watching alot of your videos. I most definitely subscribed . You seem like a really nice guy and I love your attitude about not judging people and leaving your egos at the curb .keep up the good work and I'll keep watching. Have a wonderful day
I like the way you teach also, you explain everything in plain English so you can understand each technique, you do a great job at explaining everything. thanks again
Thank you. I like your videos as always very informative and well put together. Just wanted to add that weather conditions change the braking pattern. In wet conditions braking with the front brake will make the back end slide out. Back brake is better in those conditions. You can fully stop a bike using only the back brake.
G'day Robert , I have recently started watching your channel here in Australia. I enjoy learning new skills from you, thank you for sharing your knowledge . But when I started this video , I noticed you have your touring bike on a jack in the garage . I too use to do this, on a very similar , almost identical looking bike lift jack . Until a few weeks ago when I woke up in the middle of the night to the alarm flashing . I went into the garage to find my Road king special , lying on the floor with my other bike knocked over as well. The jack had collapsed , and and my bike fell on its right side, I was lucky the damages where minor about $650 in parts , a lot of time was spent to replace parts and repair paint etc . But anyway, I thought I would share this with you .
Wow, the edit skills on this were awesome. Appreciate the on road video with comments. I could remember situations where things could have been easier with better skills. Thanks for this...again!
You do such great videos I just got my bike up and running and now it's snowing here in Pennsylvania so I can't get out and practice thank you for all you do Would like to see some videos put out by you that you could buy

I've always been so much more impressed with the skills demonstrated in slow speed MC rodeos than high speed racing, etc. Thanks for making these techniques accessible to the general public in such an approachable way. One question this video raised is how does road crowning change these techniques? Do you build in extra room when judging the space needed for a u-turn due to the two off-camber turns when dealing with significant crowning?

Well done Mr and Mrs Preloader! Nice to see the real-world bennies of the parking lot exercises. Hits home!
Thanks Glen!👍🏾😊
I am a beginner old rider and I have been learning a lot with your videos. Bless for you and your family.
Thank you!👍🏾😊
Robert, I made an observation at around the 13:45 to the 13:51 mark, as you are approaching, your lights are not very bright. You did blend into the background; I thought I’d mention it. Keep up the good work.
Thank you very much!
Cheers
Thanks S K! I'm happy that my channel has helped you! I'm even happier that you're getting in some practicing!👍🏾
Rob, the description verbiage is awesome, it exceeds even my expectations. Now I can go to a parking lot, open up the video, drop into the description box and then run through the exercises. Thank you so much for doing that!
Thanks Jeff!👍🏾😊
Very impressive to turn a U turn like that. I keep putting my foot down on right U turn, thanks for the pointers.
Thank you very much! Thank you for watching and hopefully you’re subscribed to my RUclips channel!👍🏾😊 ruclips.net/user/BeTheBossOfYourMotorcycle

Great video!!! I enjoyed the 360 view and real-life exercises. AWESOME!! Stay safe, Ride safe.👍🏿💯
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!😊👍🏾
Thanks, Robert, for the great info and demonstrations!Damnation, you represent the motorcycle police community (motormen) very well in your actions, mental approach, positive attitude...and, of course, slow speed maneuvers! Keep up the great work!
Thank you very much Dave! 👍🏾😊
You make those U-turns look easy. I'll be there one day soon. Great camera views at the end. Always looking forward to your next video. Keep them rolling!!
Hey Brian. Thanks brother!👍🏾😊
I absolutely loved the bonus footage! Awesome viewpoints and explanations. Thank you.
Thanks Shelton! My pleasure.👍🏾😊
You are a great instructor. If i lived near you id be there learnin. Great job sir. Thanks for giving like you do. Your blessings are so obvious.
Thanks Kevin!👍🏾😊

Great info sir! I've recently been trying to master the iron cross at a local motorcycle police course. It's very challenging but it's amazing how much head and eyes help. Keep up the good work!
Thanks Wilson! Yes that iron cross is tough. Squeeze that clutch all the way in during transitions. That will help.👍🏾
Hello Robert ; here in france the weather has been rainy since several months , i am hurry to see the sun ,to try your techniques ; thak you for your work , it is précious !!!!!!!
Thanks Hans! It’s rainy here today as well.
Man I don’t miss that.
Really cool bonus footage, Robert Simmons, thank you for your time and dedication! Preloaders unite!👍🏾✌👍
Thanks Jolkrae! My pleasure.👍🏾😊
Such great and valuable instruction. And that bonus footage at the end - you are the BOSS of that editing software, too!
Thanks Jim!😊👍🏾
Excellent my brother! simply the best.

Mr Simmons I dont see a battery tender for your bike and video was outstanding dont have a 2 wheeler but I can still learn.
Hey Hector. The tender is on the wall right where I park the bike.👍🏾😊

Hey Pete. What did you want to set up?

Thanks Joe! Yeah I know you guys are dealing with some tough weather up there.
Another great video brother, keep them coming. Your editing skills and effects are really getting good as well. Nothing but respect for you from the snowed in northeast!
Much appreciated Dwayne!👍🏾😊
Great video, I'm retired LEO from the MP251 on the NYS T-way area, it always makes me laugh to see the duck walk ppl do at events like Bike Week and other events. After retirement I drove big truck to NYC, but never rode bike in the city. I hope to do the Blue Knights ride of the five boroughs some day. Also I see you got the hell out of NYC, smart move the way stuff is going on now. Be safe and take care, and watch out for the cager's! I sold my 09 Road Glide few years ago and got a 2021 Can Am Spyder RT Limited, easy making U turns now.
Thank you! Also thank you for your service and congratulations on your retirement!👍🏾
I really liked the angle from above, Was watching feet and hand motions is the turns and stopping, very good visual perspective. Thanks

Hi there. Love the video. I guess I am a new preloader. So glad I stumbled onto your channel. I have been riding 4 years and still struggling with u-turns and slow maneuvers.

Thank you for watching and hopefully you’re subscribed!👍🏾😊 Yes that’s why I always made sure it was secured in the safety rather than the jack actually holding it up. Thanks for sharing.

It’s my pleasure. 😊 It doesn’t really change much for me. I just lean a little less.
