If a delivery driver actually did that and his employer found out, he was definitely fired for it. His and his employer's insurance does not cover commercial passengers and that is a huge liability issue.

They lose money from letting a non-member buy stuff, but still retained a few pennies of profit from accepting a return and keeping the real member happy enough to renew their card next year).
