Such wise words. I keep telling my high handicaper golfer friends to aim to play bogey golf, that usually means 90...or better, sometimes worst, but the idiots keep thinking it's cool to wack it long. And they end up around 100. I improved my game as I got older by using better course management. OMP is the perfect example of what many of us should do to enjoy more fun AND better scores. Great tips OMP, wish we could play a round together someday. Cheers!

When I retired and started playing golf in earnest four years ago, I stumbled upon your videos and have watched ever since. Most importantly, I learned much just from watching OMP and his magnificent approach to play. OMP's tips have lowered my score by 10 strokes at least in the last three years. I use his "traffic light" system every round. And I've learned to play it safe, and not take the million-to-one miracle shots from the woods. OMP also taught me to take more club than you might need and swing easy. Don't over play your abilities. And another great lesson from OMP: Never listen to your partners! Just hit the damn ball and get on with it! Great job, OMP!! And great job Liam and the rest of the Chorlton-cum-Hardy gang!

Before my back injury last year....I was still playing once or twice a month....and I learned from watching OMP not to try to hit my driver off the tee. I started teeing off with my 7 wood ( A vintage 1994 Callaway Heaven 7 wood ) and my handicap dropped from an 18 to a 14 within 3 months! I used to be a really big hitter off the tee when I was in my 30's and carrying a 3. But 300+ yard drives are not something I can do anymore....but a 170 yard 5 wood or 140 yard 7 wood is easy for me! My chipping and putting has always been the best part of my game....and the last Senior day I played in I shot an 80....and with my 14 handicap, I won the 65 - 69 year old class with a net 66. I OMPed myself around the course...and pitched in twice for birdies on two of the Par 3's.
Now...if the doctor's can fix my 2 discs in my lumbar area...I'll be a happy man!

I have a 17-degree Apex UW, I hit 220-240.... I don't need driver, when I have wedge into every par-four on the front with it, and every par-4 on the back except 17 (that's 446 yards),

Top tips OMP, I'm a +1 handicap and I play the same way. I use a driver off the deck especially in the wind as it automatically keeps the ball low. Sometimes if I can't reach a par 5 in two then a couple of nibblers and a love shack and it's sorted. Nibbler is my 23 degree rescue club, so called, because it nibbles away at the hole and love shack is my B52 i.e. 52 degree wedge. Love the videos.....keep it going

Pat's philosophy is so simple and effective, but us 90+ shooters invariably don't copy him. I had seen Pat before explain this and I followed it. My handicap came down and I was getting sub 90s. Then I had a break and I am back to the driver off every tee....Hmm. This video has come just right for me. Thank you Pat for your very wise words (but I wonder if Liam will still take a driver off that hole.....).

Love all u guys over the pond. Pat is amazing. If he chips and puts well he's going low but not in trouble strokewise before getting to green. I had too many 6, 7 and occasional 8's to go along with some pars and bogies. Now I am being less aggressive and it is paying off. I have played more rounds without losing balls and taking penalty strokes. I have also changed to single length irons with my most used club an 8 iron and 3 and 5 woods are same length too helping me further with miss hits. I also got a moonwood 9 wood 25 degree loft and same length as my other woods. Scores lowering...Thanks PAT!

Great to hear Pats tips, reminds me of what I was told a long time ago. Keep it on the fairway and you will save a shot a hole.

I’ve heard on the QT, “old man Pat” was on the driving range with John Rahm prior to his last round at Augusta.
