I've been quilting about 18 years and the very first class I took taught us corners for binding. It's different from yours but I love the results you achieve and it makes a lot of sense. There is always something to learn.
Bindings have been an obsession of mine since my first quilts and comments from fair judges. This year I used your corner technique and yes Blue ribbons but I can hardly wait to get my comments. Thank you for sharing this with us.
Hi everyone, the attachment is a 1/4" quilting foot with guide. This is included with some machines, and is an additional purchase for others. Contact your manufacturer to find out more information on acquiring one for your specific machine.
Thank you for the tutorial. I wish you would do a tutorial on how to join the ends of the binding when sewing in a circle ie: a circular placemat or mug rug.
Learned something new. I always knew that the corners were too bulky, but never knew what to trim out. But why didn't you show how to sew those binding ends together? It is so simple when you have both tails loose like that. Just press a triangle into the beginning and when you get to the end, cut that off at the base of the triangle. Now it is the exact length to sew a seam just like the seam you used to make your binding strip. You sew on the crease of the triangle. No math. No eyeballing.
Thank you I am a newbie so I will definitely use this technique all he time. I have tried to scour the internet and asked my Brother service centre and no one knows what or where to get your seam guide, please, could you tell me the brand name? Thank you Wendy
Just tried this technique and the results are beautiful. Getting rid of the bulk makes a nice flat corner. Thanks for the tip!

Been doing this for a couple of years now, and it really helps make such a perfect binding, and I no longer dread doing my binding! Thanks Patrick!
