    Wow! I have been playing piano for 55 years so I picked this up reasonably easy. This is in my opinion a perfect breakdown of the way Elton plays, thank you so much. You are by far the best teacher on RUclips. Please carry on your lessons. They are probably very helpful for all levels. 👍👍🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹

    I've found these tutorials to be exactly what I'm looking for. Not just the notes, but the rhythm and small fills that allow me to start with just the basic version then gradually introduce interesting elements into my playing. Currently my 'go to' channel for piano lessons. Thanks for all your hard work Pierre.

    Nicely done Pierrie! I used to play this on the church piano when no one was around. Got caught kicking the bench out backwards one Monday evening. As an aside, the organ outro was played on a Farfisa transistor organ with a bit of fuzz pedal classic!

    Accurate lesson.
    One more move he does on the C chord before chorus is pivoting between a C 2nd inv. doubled at the octave and an Am7 (really C6). He also makes ample use of broken chords to keep the groove flowing.

      Great tip! No two performances are identical, but it always grooves like crazy.

    Helllo thanks Pierre for the nice tutorial kudos for including the organ part..,impressive ! I am going nuts tryin*to find an accurate chord based piano sheet music that has the lyrics for this song. Something that includes his cool rhythms of the chorus like you showed us. Any suggestions ?

      Thanks for watching! I have an "All Blues" tutorial, but haven't made one that goes in-depth in terms of comping an improvisation. There are so many videos that I want to make! Is that sort of what you're looking for?

      I'm incorporating more play-throughs of sections for those who learn fast, but I'd rather "over-teach" and have people skip around than confuse beginners. Thanks for watching!

    Oh, my gosh I was just following along when a spider crawled onto the piano.
    I jumped up and tried to flick it off but it snuck in between a black key and a white key.
    I'm so freakin' out right now i have to wear some gloves and Pledge the hell out of it before I can put my fingers on it again.
    Oh, the horrors!!

    Is there a rule as to what inversion to play in the right hand or is the rule; "do what your ear tells you"?

    • @pierrejpiscitelli
      @pierrejpiscitelli  Месяц назад +1

      Follow your ears, which we call using good “voice leading.” Don’t use inversions that jump around illogically or make your life harder!
