  • Because of RE-STOCK changing the part mechanics of the game, I will no longer be using RE-STOCK. Very sad but, I will make it work.
    KSP 2 will be coming out soon where you can paint your own crafts so, all of this will be history anyway soon.

    GAME : Kerbal Space Program VERSION 1.12.5
    MUSIC : Kerbal Space Program Sound Track.
    ---------------------------------------
    FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS :
    1. When do you upload videos? - I make videos as often as I can.
    2. What do you do for a living? - I work a full time construction job plus any overtime I can get.
    3. Where can I download the craft file? - No downloads as of yet. I don't have the time, but these videos are meant for you to be inspired to build your own crafts.
    4. WHY isn't the video in ULTRA REALISTIC SUPER HIGH DEFINITION? Because unlike your rich ass that can afford a KILLER PC, I have to use what little money I have, to make sure that there's a roof over my head and food on the table before I can spend it on things like CPUs and GPUs.
    Thank you.

    THE CHANNEL:
    This channel is about Kerbal Space Program and can consist of SSTO building tutorials and rocket building tutorials. Some times the videos contain bad language and adult humor but on a low level. In these videos no planet is safe as we can explore space together by landing on places like Duna and Jool and build large Duna colonies or orbital space stations. Also, Interplanetary SSTO builds seem to be a hot topic in the KSP community so I will be touching on those as well. I also build SSRT space craft. These are fun to build and easy to fly! Warships or space warships are one of my favorite things to make. Stock weapons can be very challenging and so when building them over time , you get to see the evolution of the designs. Same thing with the Warships. They get better and better with each new design.
    Now , I know it's considered cheating but Kraken drives are a fun way to put things like warp drive ( like in Star Trek ) and or hyper drives ( like in Star Wars ) in your Kerbal space program game. These game mechanic loopholes are fun to figure out as you find out how they work and how to incorporate them into your star ship design.
    Everything from Outposts on far away moons and Mining Stations around asteroids and comets, you name it I've ether built it or it's on my to do list! I still haven't really explored things like building SpaceX starship or any of the NASA spacecraft, and I think that's because it been done to many times. Recreations of spacecraft can be found almost everywhere on RUclips now and so making yet another one seem redundant. Only if the spacecraft recreation is of one that I loved as a kid will I even attempt to build it. Like the Apollo Moon Lander, or the whole Apollo rocket! Now that rocket was cool!
    Many people have ask me if I'm ever going to wear my Mandalorian helmet ever again for my videos. And , yes. when the time is right, and I get a new wabcam, I will be dawning the helmet once more!
    Thank you everyone! ... This is the way.

    remember that Bradley with his 570 kg SSTO 6 years ago played a much older version of KSP. The newer version of KSP has different game and part mechanics now. Sadly his micro SSTO would not work in KSP 1.12.5 I really hope we see him come back soon, it’s been too long. 😢

      I have an idea... if I understand correctly, a stream raid is when a bunch of people from another stream or group drop into a livestream and spam chat. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
      Whenever someone comments on one of my few videos, I get a notification. Let's raid Bradley Whistance's videos and comment "Come back, Shane" or "Shane, come back"

    Air intakes in KSP actually have a tiny bit of hidden air storage inside them. Only a few kilograms, but for tiny crafts like this it really has an effect. By closing the air intake, the game deletes all that storage air, and makes the part mass go down slightly

      It actually stores it regardless if you close it or not. the only ways to dump it that i know of is by draining it with a drain valve or firring an engine that uses air as a fuel with the air intakes closed, or by opening them in a vacuum. infact If you keep enough air intakes closed without using the air inside them you can actually use it to run jet engines on eve and duna.

    Way to go! Not only did you make a super efficient SSTO, but you did it again. This, after disappointment that would crush most mere mortals. @Re-Stock you have let me down for the last time, for the first time; now that we know, we won't be disappointed again and will enjoy you all the more. (The drag profile of those side-mount engines always seemed like too much.) The real achievement here IMO is perseverance to accomplish the same feat after so much resistance.

    Here's a thought. Since you are taking off at the equator, you are, to some extent, using the planet's rotation to give you an extra kick.
    If we consider that 'use something on the ground for an extra kick' to be true, then the same should be said if you accelerate a craft to escape velocity via something else, such as a land speed record breaking vehicle, at the north pole.
    Though the target craft could not be docked to the land vehicle, all it needs to be able to do is survive into orbit and have the ability to maneuver itself once in space

    The stock Twitch is indeed insanely draggy. I like it with KAL overclocking because it's good at Eve sea level, but other than that... well, I'd go for Ants on a vacuum ship... not ship... At that size it's more of a paddleboard. ;)
    Monopropellant engines have incredibly good TWR but abominable sea-level performance and, as everyone knows, poor Isp. The tanks have a worse wet:dry mass ratio, too.
    All that about the nose cone was interesting. I wonder if they positioned the aerodynamic center wrongly.

    Hey, Vaos, I was wondering if you could do a bit of KSP science for me. Would you mind starting up your clean copy of 1.12.5, putting a simple craft into a ~100km orbit (not cheating or anything), recording the Ap and Pe, and letting the game run at normal speed while you're at work or something (it takes a while to notice, and I'm not gonna ask you to babysit the game for that long), and re-recording the Ap and Pe, and see if there's any difference? I think I saw some orbital decay in one of your last livestreams, and its something I've noticed in my game as well, and it would be nice to have some verification that its not just me or my computer.

    • @mechbfp3219
      @mechbfp3219 Год назад

      There is a bug that can cause your PE or AP to get stuck changing. Don’t recall what causes it but it continues changing forever making the game unplayable until you restart the game. However most of the time if the AP or PE changes that is a user error. A Kerbal exiting or entering the craft will cause it’s orbit to shift. Using RCS will definitely cause the orbit to shift.

    did you get it back down? I think that if you are precise and patient technically it could be done only with 180 dv more but I am neither of those. I have been finding that 220 is doable for me despite my piloting skills leaving a lot to be desired. leaves enough to deorbit and do the suicide burn. lots of quicksaves lol

    • @vaos3712
      @vaos3712  Год назад

      Yeah I can see that working, when you reach someone like 60 km turn the vehicle around and drop the top half. I was thinking of a real world craft. The mercury rocket which took the first American in orbit. this craft used a half stage where it dropped its engines. I also seen a concept of a rocket stage where the first half of the rocket would contain a normal first stage next to similar sized fuel tanks and tripped when it ran out while it was finding the main first stage. I have only seen it done in a video in ksp realism overhaul so I don't think you can achieve that at how small the rocket is in stock ksp
