Once you start hiking, before long the exercise starts releasing endorphins which in itself feels great and if you're in halfways decent shape, it maybe be a stiff but of exercise but not so much as to take the fun out of it. Especially if you know how to pace yourself so you can walk for hours. That is the real key to it.

I'm in Colorado on a trip with my college, and we planned on going up to the summit of Flat Top Mountain, which was roughly 11,800 ft. Total elevation gain was around 2,200ish ft., and it was a solid 7 and a half hour hike. I kinda wanted to give up roughly three miles on the trail, never been on snow like that (of which, I am amazed by what you do now that I have that experience in mind), but I wanted to experience at least a little of what you do, so I pushed myself to the summit, and had the greatest view of my life. Miss the theme song. Catchy tune and I would annoy my coworkers by singling it over and over. That song gets stuck in your head,
