This is where my grandson proposed to his girlfriend (now fiancée). They were halfway across and had a car to themselves. The view in the background was incredible.
All Australians, when I was out in Whislter BC they were also there working everywhere, a waitress from Ontario told me "they chase winter like we chase summer" Most are just workcamping
🇨🇦 I just had to stop after your first minute in and commend you on your proper grammar ! It shows so much wisdom 😊 “ Jimmy and I “ it’s refreshing to hear. Now back to the video 😂
Hey guys, you’re playing in my backyard. I grew up in Calgary and have been everywhere you have seen recently. I’m 62 year old now, and am really enjoying seeing all this again through the eyes of youth. Hope your trip continues to entertain you both. I love my country…..I’m so glad you’re enjoying it. Cheers!
You will have to come to the East Coast next time. The Atlantic Provinces offer different but just as incredible landscapes and outdoor activities. There’s tons of hiking, you can explore the Bay of Fundy, go whale watching, deep sea fishing, play in the Atlantic Ocean, see icebergs in Newfoundland, drive the Cape Breton Highlands in Nova Scotia, hike the Fundy Trail and visit the sea caves in New Brunswick, enjoy beautiful beaches and traditional lobster dinners on Prince Edward Island…I could go on for days. We also have innumerable festivals celebrating our diverse populations and you’ll meet some of the kindest folks on the planet. Have I sold you on it yet?
I have visited the Icefields many times. The first time was when I was a child in the early 1960's when the glacier was almost all the way down toward the road. Back then we traveled in half tracks vehicles that looked like army tanks. They would stop over the large crevasses and we could look down 50 to 100 feet into the glacier. The Glacier is much smaller now.
It is one awesome short time on that glacier, and the water is so damn nice to drink hehe. Enjoy the town of Jasper, I know I did, don't forget visit the Christmas all year round store opposite the train station, it is a fun shop hehe
Just re-watched all your content from the start. All caught up...again. 😂 I sure enjoy your journey. I'm so proud of you two. You remind me a lot of my husband and I. We have been great friends for 25 years. You have such a bright future. Lots of love from an Oklahoma momma. ❤
What a wonderful program!! Sure enjoyed your time on the glacier--it's amazing to see how much it has receded since my visit. Enjoy yourselves, stay safe and looking forward to your next video.
HI JIMMY & NATALIE 👋 I AGREE DON'T KNOW HOW LONG THE GLACIERS WILL BE AROUND ! BREATHTAKING BEAUTY COLORS VIEWS SCENERY LANDSCAPE WEATHER VIDEO FOOTAGE 📹 HAPPY YOU BOTH TRIED THE GLACIERS WATER 💧 WON'T BE ABLE TO GET IT ANY FRESHER OR OLDER DRINK ! DID YOU ASK WHEN IS THE BEST SEASON TO COME THERE 🤔 BE SAFE ! HAVE FUN ! ENJOYED 🍨 🍨 🍨 🍨 🍨 🍨 🍨 🍨 🍨 🍨 GOD BLESS YOU BOTH ALWAYS ON YOUR ADVENTURES 🙏 THANK YOU 🙏
"Screws fall out all the time. The world's an imperfect place" - John Bender, The Breakfast Club. LOL Very cool on the glacier! Even cooler dipping your faces in the runoff river. How could you remember a straw but not a cup? HAha Another cool video!! Until next week...
Thanks for the video Jimmy and Natalie.. so glad you enjoyed Alberta. We are here for the rest of our lives now and can't think of a better place to be ❤🇨🇦❤️
We went up to the Summit last year with my 3 year old, and I wore my 10 month old on my back. It was so rewarding to get to the top, good for you! Your last few videos (I know I'm behind) have made me tear up so much because it was the best summer of my life visiting the same areas. The Icefields Parkway is to die for, and I dream of the day when I can visit again. Thank you, once again, for your incredible videography to capture the beauty of the mountains. We also liked Morraine Lake better, and there weren't red chairs at the summit last year either!! lol
I am not sure what your plans are for returning, but I have a few recommendations. 1. Continue driving through to BC and check out Vancouver and Victoria areas. Then continue down through the USA (Glacial National Park on the USA side is beautiful, too). 2. If you go back down through AB, don't forget to hit up Drumheller.
I would second on the adoption of you kids your terrific M y wife and i missed doing the tram a few years ago and now we have physical difficulties to be able to do it ThankYou You kids are great!!!!
OMG Natalie you were so cute when you said theres cake at the bottom lol. The glaciers are pretty cool. I took my family there a few years ago. We only live north of Edmonton but we dont get out to the mountains as much as I would like. Theres nothing like waking up in the morning and enjoying a cup of coffee with that view!!
When i was a kid, 60's and 70's, when we were skating we would pick a hole in the ice with our skates and drink the water. We just put our lips to the water and sucked lol. So good and cold.
Another great video! And did this bring back memories for me! I did your itinerary back in 1981. The difference was the skywalk was not built yet and the red chair concept did not yet exist. But I want to make a comment about the glacier. I was shocked to see how much the glacier has receded since I was there 42 years ago! For those who refuse to believe in climate change, they need to come to the Athabasca Glacier.
Wow. Those all-terrain buses looks so cool, and walking on a glacier is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Thank you for sharing. I hope to someday visit Canada too.
I live in Ontario, Canada and in 2019 I went on the Rocky Mountaineer to Banff, Jasper etc with my mom. We were supposed to go on the glacier tour but the weather was too bad 😢 I'm glad you were able to go and enjoy our beautiful country 🇨🇦
You should also be aware that the glacier is a triple point. That is water flows from it to the Pacific Ocean, the Arctic Ocean and the Atlantic Ocean via Hudson Bay.
When I was there in 2017 we met a guy who told us that glacier used to come to highway and was 30 ft high. Sad that it’s disappearing! Glad you’re enjoying this beautiful country of ours. I do hope you get to see some of BC too.
Great tour!! We are 1 day behind you and we hiked the Icefields twice. Did not take either of the Tours so we go to see what we missed! Well done. Prince George here we come!
My father (born 1925) told me that when he was your age the glacier came out to nearly the highway. I was there in the 1970s and it was about halfway towards the highway from where it appears to be now, close enough that I didn't have to take a bus to get the (much smaller then) glacier bus. Not sure how long it will be before it is gone but in not that long of a time you can see how much it has receded. So glad you got to see it.
Beautiful. You’ve seen more than I, a Canadian, has. Wonderful to see through your eyes. The bus thing with the 5 foot wheels that took you to the glacier actually did have an accident, rolled down the side of the mountain, awhile ago so not always safe. There was death 😢. Glad you guys were safe.
I'm so glad you experienced our glacier, it's wonderful isn't it? The stunted trees that you passed on the way up is actually an ancient forest, stunted from the harsh climate. It's sad that it's melting so fast, in the late 60s or early 70s I remember my parents drove us passed the Glacier and it was right up to the highway. Don't forget to visit Athabasca falls just ouside of jasper, it's magnificent and free. The CN train station in Jasper is in use but is a historic and very beautiful to visit and the old steam train is parked outside; also free to wander in. Jasper also has a museum which is pretty cool. Watch for bear and elk. The elk like to stay in town.
There is also a trail to hike up to the restaurant as well from the bottom. I hiked that trail in 1992 not realizing that there was a restaurant at the top and took the gondola down. It was fun to see the area again!
We were in Iceland and they have a converted missile launcher that can drive on glaciers there. It’s pretty amazing to walk on one and go underneath one.
I enjoy your videos. I’d like to offer a photo/ video trick. When shooting glass and bodies of water I suggest using a polarizing filter to reduce reflections. And you will be pleasantly surprised what it does for blue skies. It doesn’t affect cloudy skies though.
Thats a pretty good hike if one hikes from the bottom near where the tram starts out and up to the top of the tram, then on up to the summit. Way easier than hiking to the top of Half Dome though 😉
Yeah, I just started to need to turn on a light for my 0530 breakfast... still quite a bit of light as the day "should" end though. I also love that several times this video the "tour guide" sounded like they were Aussies... in Canada. Remember Altitude Sickness is a real thing. The higher you go the harder it is to breathe. So hiking at altitude... less simple.
Great video. Many years ago, I spent about 17 months over three deployments in Antarctica flying ski-equipped aircraft. I even landed on a glacier and visited the South Pole numerous times. (Actually in some respects, all of the ice-covered parts, which is most of the continent, is a glacier.) The tricky part is to stay on the flat areas which is generally free of crevasses.🥶 The whole experience was a blast.
Awesome that you thought of the straw to get the glacier water!! Cool to hear a few Aussies up there in the clouds with you, like the icebus driver and the gondola guide. 🏞☺
So glad you did the glacier. That was a highlight for us in 2021. How did we miss that Jasper gondola? Now on our list for our 2024 trip. Loving your Canadian videos, and yes, there should have been red chairs at that spot. 😉
Great Videos and I booked my campsites in Baniff & Jasper for this June. Keep living your Vanlife Dream. I’m stoked for my winter trip to Baja too. Cheers
The glacier is awesome! We surprised our kids and took them on July 22! It was so cool 😉 enjoy the rest of your trip. Mosquito campground is a sweet spot to stay, it was full when we got there, but we're allowed to stay in the parking lot for like $12... hope that helps.
I’m glad you did all of those things, the only one we haven’t done is the Skywalk because it wasn’t built the last time we were there. When we were on the glacier we were lucky enough to see a small avalanche on the cliff to the right when looking up. We had dinner at the restaurant on my birthday and we were at the table behind Jimmy. You’re definitely paying a premium for the view.
About ten years ago my wife and I travelled from Vancouver to Toronto by train and we were able to spend 4 hours in Jasper. Enjoyed every minute, the train trip was pretty good too! The Inuksuk at the summit; there are several stories about what they are for. My favourite is to indicate someone has been there before and the direction (one "arm" is usually longer) to go. I carry a small stone carving of an Inuksuk and tell people who ask: "So I'll know which way to go and that I'm not alone." Glad you're enjoying your travels and Canada.
You both have wholeheartedly embraced our wonderful nation. It's only fair that Canada adopts you as one of its citizens.
That video was so wonderful. Thank you so much. I love your youthful energy and enthusiasm.
You both are so respectful of each others and others, such great US ambassadors. Thanks for being you
This is where my grandson proposed to his girlfriend (now fiancée). They were halfway across and had a car to themselves. The view in the background was incredible.
All Australians, when I was out in Whislter BC they were also there working everywhere, a waitress from Ontario told me "they chase winter like we chase summer" Most are just workcamping
Glad you are trying to find more red chairs.
I'm going to the Icefields and Skywalk this weekend. Can't wait!
🇨🇦 I just had to stop after your first minute in and commend you on your proper grammar ! It shows so much wisdom 😊 “ Jimmy and I “ it’s refreshing to hear. Now back to the video 😂
Ok, I thought I heard Jimmy say Annette Lake so I had to look it up, Jasper is a must, I need to see that lake now. 😉
Me too, I’m 63, I’ve been to Banff in 2017. I’m too old to go back there again, but I love this video.
Oilers are better
Aussies. Taking over Canada one ski resort at a time. 😊
I'm thinking our resorts would all be closed if the Azzies weren't stepping up.
Thanks
That was beautiful thanks for sharing with us. See u next week❤
You two are adorable. So glad I came across your channel.

That was sooo much fun! So many laughs. You two are great tour guides!
The first time we were to that glacier about 1975, the toe of the glacier was at the road.
It is one awesome short time on that glacier, and the water is so damn nice to drink hehe.
Enjoy the town of Jasper, I know I did, don't forget visit the Christmas all year round store opposite the train station, it is a fun shop hehe
Oh wow! What a great adventure! Thanks for taking us along.

So very cool. Nice video and great music too.
So Happy you did the glacier and enjoyed it. Who knows how much of the glacier will be gone if and when you come back. Thanks for taking us along.
I enjoy how you video your adventures, great job you two.

What incredible country!. I'm glad you're' sharing these with us.
Glacier fun! However, again, Nathalie with the backpack on the really steep hike.

the wear and tear of walking and driving on the glacier melts them even faster. sad to see its a busy tourist attraction.
Wow! What a cool experience on that glacier! And the mode of transportation was pretty cool too!😎

Thanks!
Another two gallons in your tank, travel happy Pancakers. 🥞
I think they are heading towards Alaska.😮

I’ve been few years and waiting for my hubby’s passport so that I can take him there. I did go to Banff in June 2023 and went skywalk. It was fun

I’m loving these Canada 🇨🇦 videos. I’ve never been that far north.
These have been fun videos. A first hand look at places on my bucket list.

I was there nearly 60 years ago and it was mucho grande and toured on bombardier track machines. Limit 6
Love you Both! Thanks for the sticker!!!!❤

Incredible! What a hike Sorry no Red Chairs What a View! Happy Travels All The Best! Be Well Be Safe & Stay Blessed.
Two of my favorite RUclipsrs are in the same area chrome from van city van life has been in the same area that you guys are in
We were in Iceland and they have a converted missile launcher that can drive on glaciers there. It’s pretty amazing to walk on one and go underneath one.
Enjoy watching your travels...
Amazing landscape
Very cool. Especially as Chrome from Vancity Vanlife was just there as well 😂

😮wow. Great show... thanks 😊
As always, enjoyed your video and excursion. 💙💜

Hope your having a great time.. come to BC
I would love to do that but im so afraid of heights that it'll never happen, thanks for showing us the sights!

I have heard they were food caches in case someone needed it. Also way markers.
Thanks for the tour!
You two are always entertaining.
What a beautiful sight. Always love your adventures ❤
