if it was half the price and not design space dependent, I would jump on board. its a cool option, but for a few dollars more, that 5 in 1 you get a 15" press press and other accessories and can do a different array of sizes even if those others are a little more money. cricut has a theme and it seems like next launch will probably be an even bigger one, and then a smaller one and will require buying entire new machines for all different sizes. hopefully this puts those 5 in 1 machine makers in a spin to make theirs better. very cute mug!

Thank you for the Cricut Mug Press reveal. Love the dedication to research and honesty of the how that research pans out whether it’s good or bad. Thanks.
Angie, do you think Cricut will be able to tell you what temperature the press heats up to? I know it seems like we can use our regular sublimation supplies with the Cricut Mug Press, but without knowing the exact temperature, we won't know whether or not the mugs we print will hold up over time. Sometimes when mugs are pressed at the wrong temperature, they can seem fine at first, but the designs won't last through repeated washes in the dishwasher. I already have a commercial mug press, but the Cricut press is so cute and compact, so I think it could be nice to keep out on my desk for when I want to test a new design. It's way too slow for any kind of actual production, but for making only one or two mugs at a time, the long pressing time could be okay. (And did I mention it's CUTE???) Thanks for an excellent video!
Fantastic video, Angie! I'd been considering whether or not I would use a traditional mug press because I'm terrified of getting burned and, like you, I don't want anything permanently affixed to a work surface--I want to be able to store it within my limited space when not in use. Hey Angie, I’ve been using a mug press now for about 11/12yrs now and it’s nothing like your mug press, I think if that was my press I wouldn’t using it much either. The orange foam but in mine is fixed and I can alter the size of the press with the turn of a knob. As I’ve this one now for the amount of years I’ve mentioned above I have been on the look out for another press and low and behold the wonderful guys at Cricut have came up with one. A lot of what I sell is with ceramic mugs but I do also use a lot of the plastic lightweight polymer mugs for children and outdoor use (my local Girl guides club likes them for camping as they are in breakable). I’m not sure if you have these types of sublimation mugs in the states (although I’m sure you will) I was wondering how the Cricut mug press would cope with these. I’m in the Uk and we unfortunately have to wait a little while longer for them to come across here, but live watching your videos on here and looking forward to seeing you use the mug press, this will give me a good idea as to wait for it to come to the Uk or to go ahead and buy the mug press I’ve had my eye on. My mug press orange thing doesn’t move, so it works better, but I’m looking forward to buy the Cricut one. I have had a lot of mistakes and damage mugs with my older mug press.
@Angie Holden hello and thank you! Would it be possible to give a complete breakdown of prices for all supplies and about total cost to make each of the larger mugs please? This way I would know how much to charge at craft fairs! I’m supper excited!!! You were awesome in the way you presented yourself! I would have been out of breath even with the editorial, lol! Thank you!
That depends on a ton of factors! I would add up whatever you are paying for mugs. Then what are you putting on them? You would need material cost for that. I would also factor in your time and any electricity, etc.
It seems like a wonderful press and I’m probably going to buy it but in all fairness the regular mug press that you used was part of a five and one as you said and those stink to be honest. I have a mug press that I bought that it’s just a mug press, it comes with the mug things that you wrap around them and it’s sturdy you don’t have to hold anything when you move the handle like you showed. I do love my mug press. However I will be also buying the cricut as I feel it will be a great press to teach my daughter on ..looks safe and simple. Thanks for your video .. I will be waiting for more!!
It depends on which 5 in 1 and how much you spend on it as in anything the more you pay the better upgrades including how the mug press is manufactured. =) There are some amazing deals so this new cricut mug press for $199? If you "only" need a "mug" press and nothing else or are only going to make mugs then this may be for you. However, you know what is next...the tumbler press - you may be able to do some type of tumblers on this new press but won't it be only a "portion" of the tumbler hence it will be another machine/press, another $200 or more in the coming months...all the cricut machines, how many heat presses are they up to now? Its the Disney of crafting! lol
I love your videos! I wish the Mug Press was max $129. IF it seems to work for you with tumblers, I may consider it and can't wait for your other videos on this!
That post will go up the 15th. I have been gathering info that people want since last Thursday and had a bunch of stuff overnighted here but some isn't arriving until tomorrow. Then it takes me a while to make, film, edit, etc! Sorry!
Thank you for demonstrating the cricut mug press because I just watched someone else video and did not recommend it. It is a little pricey tho. Thank you again Angie BTW I love you your unicorn tape dispenser. Lisa Trevizo
Angie, first I'd like to say THANKS for your honest, concise videos! They are so good! I was wondering if you can add ink to the bottom of the mug? I just thought it would be fun to add a business label or maybe even a surprise on the bottom. I haven't seen anyone else say anything about it, so I'm assuming not, but wanted to ask. Thanks again!
The cricut mug press and love it. I also have an Vevor 11 in 1 heat press. It has assorted size mug press cuffs thes one is for 20-30 oz tumblers. I keep ruining my tumblers, I don’t know how tight it supposed to be closed and how long should it be in the press? I either get ghosting (blurred image) or it didn’t sublimate in some areas. Could you do a video how to sublimate a 30/20 oz tumbler ?
Thank you Angie for the awesome video! I was on the fence about purchasing it because it is so much money and I live on a budget but I actually found one for a very reasonable price so I went ahead and got it 😁 I'm super excited to receive it and use it, now to go watch all your other videos about what more you can do with it 😊
I think I will have to buy this too! I have all things Cricut so I will probably have to give this a try also! It will be fun to personalize mugs for presents!
Maybe I missed it but if I'm understanding it right you can't use dollar tree mugs correct just sublimation mugs? Thank you for your time..have a blessed day
Great video! Quick question: do mugs using the cricut mug press (which can clock in a 6 minute heat time) NEED to be in the press for the whole time? The sublimation paper im using says 3-4 minutes...figured id ask before i experiment lol
You made this so easy for me to make my decision to get one. I usually use 651 vinyl for my mugs, but there is only so much you can do design wise, here the possibilities are endless for designs... I could not get the bigger mug presses due to space, so this is amazing for me. I don't want to bother with bigger bottles and stuff so simply mugs are good enough for me. Thanks for yet another super informative video...oh and can you reuse the heat tape? THANKS!
This is a nice mug press. I wonder how I can make my own designs to put on a transfer that will work on the press. I appreciate this video, and got a better idea of the mug press itself. I got an email from Michael's intoducing theis mug press, the large press (for shirts, extra). Thank you for making this video. I bookmarked it.
Before your video I was like oh it’s so expensive! I think a normal mugpress it’s better !! But when you pointed the safety and how easy it’s to work with a Cricut yeah for the price, it’s fair ! It’s going to my wishlist ❤️❤️
this review is awesome... very thorough, informative and i really appreciate the comparison to a regular mug press, which happens to be the one i have... also, i high key LOVE the cubby storage/organization system you have going on...
What ideas do you have about preprinted sublimation papers with this new machine. If there are any out there, where can they be purchased? For those of us without sublimation printers.
Is there a way to fix a mug after your design has already been pressed onto it? Unfortunately there are no infusible sheets in white...but hoping you have figured out something so there is no wasted mug.
Is it possible to do a sublimination print on the Epson ET 4700 and use the Cricut Mug Press to heat press it. Also, is it possible to use other brand mugs beside Cricut brand in their press. Great video...thank you!
Yes you can do sublimation video coming soon. And I am going to try various mugs, etc in a video next week. But yes I have used other mugs already and they work!

Thank you for explaining this new product so nicely! Yikes...I want to make ALL the things...lol! I am looking forward to your subsequent videos!
You can do it!
@@AngieHolden I better make a list of Cricut products for my Birthday, anniversary, Christmas, etc...lol!
I would seriously love to know the brand. I may be doing some more comparisons and I want brands that don't stink!
@@AngieHolden it’s smart controller “ BOSSTOP” I love it!
Thank you! Seriously!
Its the Disney of crafting! lol
Angie, you are SO excellent at explaining how to's THANK YOU!! (Can we use sub ink?)
Yes you can! Video coming soon!
@@AngieHolden yes that’s my question aswell can we use picture on this heat mug press with sub ink
Looking forward to ALL your upcoming videos!!
I love your videos! I wish the Mug Press was max $129. IF it seems to work for you with tumblers, I may consider it and can't wait for your other videos on this!
We can cross our fingers for a sale!
Thank you for the comparison and review on the mug press. I want one and Cricut looks like they have a great product.
Yes they do!
Can you try tumbler, curved mug, and other blanks in it before the 11?
That post will go up the 15th. I have been gathering info that people want since last Thursday and had a bunch of stuff overnighted here but some isn't arriving until tomorrow. Then it takes me a while to make, film, edit, etc! Sorry!
Thank you for demonstrating the cricut mug press because I just watched someone else video and did not recommend it. It is a little pricey tho. Thank you again Angie BTW I love you your unicorn tape dispenser. Lisa Trevizo
Glad it was helpful!
I have had people ask but I have not tried it!
@@AngieHolden thank you! Maybe I’ll give it a try. Just got my mug press in!
Try this tumbler press video: ruclips.net/video/tQCrYfJttws/видео.html
Appreciate and love this detailed tutorial! Excited to purchase mine.
Hope you enjoy it!
Can’t wait for further videos about this mug press... gotta get one.
Right? So exciting!
Best video for this product. Can you use regular ceramic mugs or do they need to be sublimation mugs? Can drinking glasses be used?
Sublimation mugs or blanks only. I haven't seen any clear glass sublimation blanks but if someone can point me to them I can buy and see what happens!
Thank you Angie for the awesome video! I was on the fence about purchasing it because it is so much money and I live on a budget but I actually found one for a very reasonable price so I went ahead and got it 😁 I'm super excited to receive it and use it, now to go watch all your other videos about what more you can do with it 😊
Hope you enjoy it!
I think I will have to buy this too! I have all things Cricut so I will probably have to give this a try also! It will be fun to personalize mugs for presents!
Have fun!
Maybe I missed it but if I'm understanding it right you can't use dollar tree mugs correct just sublimation mugs? Thank you for your time..have a blessed day
That is correct!
Can you do a comparison with a Pneumatic Mug press?
I have that on my list!
This is exciting! My husband just told me that I don't need it but I dooooo!
Tell him I said you do! HA HA HA!
Great video! Quick question: do mugs using the cricut mug press (which can clock in a 6 minute heat time) NEED to be in the press for the whole time? The sublimation paper im using says 3-4 minutes...figured id ask before i experiment lol
I would leave them in the entire time! The paper times and temperatures are general guidelines.
This is SO exciting!!! Thank you, Cricut!!!💚💚💚💚
So glad!
can you use sublimation paper also and thank you for teaching
Yes you can!
Oh my gosh!! This is exciting!!!
I know!!
THANKS!
If the heat tape is still sticky, I reuse it! Thanks for the great comment!
I’m so excited! Can’t wait to get mine.
I hope you love it!
Great video! Awesome tape dispenser! Thank you!
Thank you! Cheers!
I love your bag in the background, "ARMED AND CRAFTY" That is so cool! you ought to give us a tour of your craft cavern! :-)
Sure! Try this link: ruclips.net/video/jPIaemuJ_BI/видео.html
Thank you for your video! Very clear! 🎉🎉🎉
I'm glad it was helpful!
You are so welcome!
I’m looking forward to your up coming videos 🌸
Me too!!
Thank you so much for the comprehensive overview and demo. Looking forward to the upcoming videos and purchasing a mug press when available!
Awesome, thank you!
Before your video I was like oh it’s so expensive! I think a normal mugpress it’s better !! But when you pointed the safety and how easy it’s to work with a Cricut yeah for the price, it’s fair ! It’s going to my wishlist ❤️❤️
So true!
I keep wondering if these mugs will be dishwasher safe? That’s kind of important to know. Thanks!
They are!
this review is awesome... very thorough, informative and i really appreciate the comparison to a regular mug press, which happens to be the one i have... also, i high key LOVE the cubby storage/organization system you have going on...
Thank you! You can get a tour of my craft room here if you want: ruclips.net/video/jPIaemuJ_BI/видео.html
What ideas do you have about preprinted sublimation papers with this new machine. If there are any out there, where can they be purchased? For those of us without sublimation printers.
I have purchased some from Etsy several times with no issue.
Is there a way to fix a mug after your design has already been pressed onto it? Unfortunately there are no infusible sheets in white...but hoping you have figured out something so there is no wasted mug.
You can really just go over with something dark.
@@AngieHoldenThanks for your response and I will look forward to watching your sublimation video.
Just wondered how much it retails for?
$ 199 for the press
Love your T-shirt that you're wearing today!!! I would love the details, if possible? Great video! Thx!!
Yes! Check out This is Tisa on Etsy and get yourself one!
Awesome! Thanks for making us this video!
Glad you liked it!
Really informative video, just wondering if using a tumbler and considering it doesn't close completely, will it leave a small area not being heated?
There will always be an area that you can't cover with this press. It is NOT a full wrap press.
