Honestly though, I can remember the news program for kids in my country reporting on how big this song (and well, especially the remix) was and it showed huge masses in countries dancing to it, and even some parliaments in countries that at that time were at war and were not doing well, but were probably desperate for something different than discussing politics during wartime.
It is hard to grasp what the magnitude of this song was prior to having sites like RUclips that gave people themselves any idea instead of having to rely on news programs.
