Hi, new subscribers here. Thank you so much for your support and comments. We watched few your videos and we really like your personality and your filming. You are so lucky that you can carry backpack and just go wherever you want. I am recovering from injuries and dreaming about going backpacking again. We use stroller pulled by our doggies to carry our camping stuff so the places we can visit are limited. It's great to watch your videos and keep dreaming. It seems like a great adventure you had.. amazing.
Hi, thanks so much! I’m glad you are recovering well- sorry that you were injured. You are setting a great example for your family! I enjoy your style and videos too 😊 You don’t let anything slow you down- I’m sure you will have great backpacking adventures again before too long - we’re really learning to enjoy every moment and the beautiful places close to home. Yes, keep dreaming and planning 😊😊👍👍
Thank you for watching this trip! It takes some time to get the proper gear together, and practice carrying the bigger backpack…. and it’s really good to go with a friend so show you about setting up the tent, how to cook the food and get water, and how to be safe, like storing food so bears and mice and other animals won’t get it. It’s wonderful to explore - so I hope you can overnight sometime! Nice to chat with you my friend! 😊🤝⛰⛰
Hey, Jennifer😊👍58⏱14:51 That forest is beautiful! I went camping for Boys Scouts and couldn't sleep because I was worried about Bigfoot. My leader said to worry about something else, and somehow Friday the 13th came into my head, and I was afraid of Jason. I must have been an exhausting child.
Ha ha - good to look back now and know that you survived! Thanks for the chuckle 😂. It’s great when we can overcome those childhood worries 😉😊 Happy holidays and have a lovely day! 🎄🎄
Oh man 10:45 I died, I was like "I've been there!". My first & second backpacking trip was Prince Creek drop off then up in the hills for some ways then dropped back down half way & took the rest of the lake shore trail. This place is a hidden gem, I've watched countless hours of backpacking videos & still I feel like this area is at least on the top 3 most beautiful & remote places in the United States, a true backpacking paradise. That ferry dropping you off in the middle of nowhere & then leaving makes this a nearly one of a kind experience, nothing I have done has come close to topping this area. Just something from a fairy tale.
Awesome! I’m happy you love this area too! We had a great trip and I’m hoping to go again this summer! The ferry ride down the lake was a perfect way to end the hike- plus we had great weather. Thanks so much for watching and saying hello! Happy adventures and happy trails! 🥾🥾 😁

Thanks Allen! This was a wonderful trip! There are a couple other routes across these mountains that also lead to Stehekin! The PCT goes there too. I'm looking forward to lots of fun adventures this summer, I'm sure you are too! Many thanks for your full watch and wonderful support!! ~ Jennifer
Thanks! It’s an impressive area - we really appreciated getting out, esp. with the special challenges of covid closures this year! Great memories 😊😊 👍👍
That didn't start out as a easy trail Jennifer, with all those steep creek crossings. So much beauty, mosquitoes! for every pleasure, there's some pain... Until I started following your channel I never realised just how mountainous Washington was. So cool to see so much wildlife. I've never even heard of a Pika before... Rainbow creek looked and sounded gorgeous. The markings on the grouse, perfect camouflage! Lake Chelan looks so picturesque. I've not played cribbage in years lol Nice trip thanks for taking me along. All the best Steve
Thanks Steve! I always like to hear from you! And I’m happy to introduce you to Washington! We’re named the Evergreen State, and we’ve got a mountain range running down the middle, the Cascade Range, with a few volcanoes even! By the way, how’s your carving going?
@@JenniferLupine Thanks Jennifer, I never knew about the Cascade range, I knew about the Mount St. Helens eruption but apart from that I was completely ignorant of the outstanding beauty of Washington. But thanks to you I'm learning. As for the carving, I'm improving, I've not taken any more chunks out of my hands 🙂 And I've made a few useful items as well as a few ornaments too. I'll put some clips together soon and publish it on here. Have a wonderful week all the best Steve
@@stevesgrowingspace Your carving sounds great! Where do you get wood? I don’t know anything about carving, so am Interested to see what you create! I’m glad you got the hand glove, sounds like a good idea! 😊😊
@@JenniferLupine Just up the road from my place they cut down a massive tree, they took all the big logs away, but left a bunch of small ones, let's just say I liberated a few of them. 🙂 I also have a broken hard wood garden chair that I was taking to the tip and then we got locked down so I'm using the wood from that too. I never knew anything about carving either before my son got me the knives... I still don't use patterns just what comes into my head. I'll get that video done as soon as I have time. It's a good way to keep body and mind active when trapped in isolation... But hopefully our isolation might end soon, my wife has her last radiotherapy treatment tomorrow so hopefully we'll be able to get back to some type of normality after that.
Great hiking, Jennifer! Great views and beautiful flower beds @ 6000' & loved the camp sites and your morning views!! You just breezed it through! Awesome duo!! 😘👏
Thanks! It was pretty special to be able to get out for a few nights during this time 😊 The only difficulty was getting our feet totally wet and needing to dry our shoes. I can’t get enough of wildflowers and mountains! 🤣😊Thanks for your support!
Hi Jennifer. Wow, what amazing beautiful views up there. The amount of rain keeps everything so nice and green. With the heat and lack of rain everything in Texas will be brown soon. That was a great picture opportunity with the the marmots posing for you like that. Your very fortunate especially being able to share this with your daughter. Very nice. Atb, Tony
Thanks Tony! We had some time to sit down and watch the marmots for a few minutes- I’ve never seen 3 together like that before- it was the perfect time of day, about 5:00 pm. Too bad it is getting dry and brown it TX... hopefully there won’t be any wildfires. All the best to you and your family 😊😊🥾🥾
Hi! Thanks! It really was a great trip … I loved Hidden Meadows! I’d enjoy camping there again and getting there just a bit earlier in the wildflower season- that would be amazing! Its a bit of extra effort to get the permits for these sites, but worth it when the trip all comes together! Thanks- hope you’re having a great summer. I still am hoping to get down to the Tillamook area for hiking if not camping too!
A great hike! Great scenery as always in your video's. Loved the three marmots on a rock photo. Glad you were able to make the trip. Thanks for bringing us along.
Hi Kate in Australia! Thanks so much! It was great fun to have a mother / daughter trip. She started backpacking after college and helped me get set up and get started!
You have an awesome channel Jennifer! I'm looking forward to watching more of your content. I love the Northern Cascades but have yet to hike there. I have a feeling I"m going to find a few hikes to put on my list. Those wildflowers were so beautiful - especially the Angelica @1:45. It reminds me of fireworks! It is so special that you are making some amazing memories with your daughter. I'm jealous. My son would rather be playing basketball. LOL!
Hi Maryann😊 Thanks for stopping by and supporting the channel! The North Cascades are great- there’s so much to explore! Let me know if you have any questions.... there is lots of variety from shorter to longer hikes... lots of water, views, trees and flowers! Maybe your son will try a little hiking in the future! How old is he? Cool gear sometimes helps🤣😂 I also have a daughter and son who live on the East Coast.... and we don’t get to see them often. We’ve done a couple group backpack trips which are really special.
I was just rewatching this video tonight because I decided the first time that I must go camp at Hidden Meadow Camp this summer. It just looks like a great place to relax. So many plans for this summer now that I'm retired. A skier desperately waiting for the snow to melt...lol. Thanks for all the great content. My wife and I watch all of your stuff!
Hi Jerry - thanks so much - it’s great to hear from you! Thanks for being a regular viewer! Congratulations on your retirement! 👍👍 I think you’ll love Hidden Meadows Camp. We were there about August 6th, and some of the flowers were a bit past prime... so if you’re interested in wildflowers I would try maybe a week earlier. I can’t wait for the snow to melt either - I’m so excited to get back into the higher elevations. So many mountains to climb - so little time! ⛰🥾🥾
Thank you for taking us along and for making this video, it is getting me through the wet cold winter. I'am here by Enumclaw, they built a new lookout tower on top of Mount peak ($600,000), one mile up and one thousand feet elevation gain, year round hiking. Maybe you can go and make a video.
Hi J Eber! It is a wet cold winter, isn’t it! Thanks for the tip on this new lookout tower- yes, I’d love to hike there and make a video!! Thanks for telling me about it, I’ll add it to my hike list! Stay warm and dry - December 21 is almost here, then we’ll start to get longer daylight again! 😉😁⛰⛰
@@JenniferLupine Thank you . Yes it is and it is hard to get outside when raining. I'm retired and hiking is my new hobby. I did over 20,000 feet of elevation gain this year 7 times to mount peak and two time to mail box peak ,old and new trail. Crystal lake was one of my favorite, next time to I want to go Crystal peak when they open 410 again and the snow melts. Thank you for making these videos it inspires a lot of hikers on cold and wet days. sorry for any bad grammar or bad spelling. Have a great day.

What food did you pack for this trip? I notoriously over-pack -- food being the heaviest part. I need to do better food planning as a result. Also, for the creek crossings you had to do, were the creeks very deep?
Hi, thanks for watching and for the questions! I hope you can hike in this area! No, when we went the creek crossings weren’t bad at all - and one had a bridge. There were some down trees to climb over but they weren’t too bad. We usually bring Mountain House dehydrated food or another similar brand- plus dry mashed potatoes and dehydrated frozen vegetables… plus a few lightweight snacks. There’s a great bakery if you hike all the way to Stehekin - amazing food! We loved this trip and trail… thanks! 🏔️🏔️🏔️
@@JenniferLupine I do love this area. I went from Cascade Pass to Stehekin some years ago. I have been wanting to start from Rainy Pass for a long time since then and will finally get to do so this year. Yes, the bakery there is definitely awesome. I had a slice of quiche and a slice of blackberry pie there for breakfast the day after we arrived at the Forrest Service campground. I'm looking forward to do that again! The dehydrated mashed potatoes + veggies is a great idea. I have a dehydrator and will prepare some of those ahead of time. Thanks again for your great video and for your reply to my note.

Hi Suri! I think you would really enjoy backpacking- especially since you have done some major hikes! It took us a little time to get all the gear we needed, but a few trips to REI and shopping around should get you set 😊 it’s good to go with someone who has experience first time, to show some of the ins and outs, like getting water, cooking, and storing food safely. This is a stretch of the PCT I have been looking into the next time I'm overthere to visit. I like the alternative route you took. Do you need a permit to go? Thanks for sharing 😁 I enjoyed watching! 😁 Have a great day!
Hi Kaatje 😊 Sounds great! Yes, I think so. We needed a permit for the 3 camp sites that we stayed at. You get permits for free at the Marblemount Ranger Station, in person, either the day before, or the day you start. It makes for some uncertainty in trip planning. We went mid-week so it wasn’t too bad. Due to Covid this year they added an online list of the sites that are reserved and the ones that are open for easier planning. Do you have access to the maps? Let me know if I can help. 😊😊
@@JenniferLupine For the moment I won't plan a thing and I don't think travelling to the US is going to be an option next year. 😒 But it was sure fun to see the area. @@StepsbyKaatje Unfortunately there is no shuttle- that’s one of the challenges on this hike.Yes, it’s probably a good idea to wait until all the Covid concerns are over, although they are working on a vaccine, I think it’s going to take a bit more patience.
Beautiful! Wonderful critter pictures! Thanks! 🌈
Thanks Rimona! We had a great adventure on this trip! Love the North Cascades 😄👌☀️☀️
@@JenniferLupine Me too!
Enjoyed to watch this video to the end. I love hiking but can only do day-hiking. Dreamed to do overnight hiking in the future
@@JenniferLupine thank you for your advice, I will try my best to realize when keep safe👍
@@hikingontario You too 😊
Hey, Jennifer😊👍58⏱14:51
That forest is beautiful!
Wow Jennifer that lake Chelan view with the beautiful mountains in the background was absolutely stunning. Agree with you how inspirational it is early in the morning being out. We love waking up in the outdoors. Loved that. Catch you on the next adventure . Have a good day 🙂🙂

What a fantastic hike and campsites with perfect views... Great video..
I've not played cribbage in years lol
Nice trip thanks for taking me along.
All the best

Thanks Steve! I always like to hear from you! And I’m happy to introduce you to Washington! We’re named the Evergreen State, and we’ve got a mountain range running down the middle, the Cascade Range, with a few volcanoes even! By the way, how’s your carving going?
@@JenniferLupine Thanks Jennifer, I never knew about the Cascade range, I knew about the Mount St. Helens eruption but apart from that I was completely ignorant of the outstanding beauty of Washington.
But thanks to you I'm learning.
As for the carving, I'm improving, I've not taken any more chunks out of my hands 🙂
And I've made a few useful items as well as a few ornaments too.
I'll put some clips together soon and publish it on here.
Have a wonderful week

@@stevesgrowingspace Your carving sounds great! Where do you get wood? I don’t know anything about carving, so am Interested to see what you create! I’m glad you got the hand glove, sounds like a good idea! 😊😊
@@JenniferLupine Just up the road from my place they cut down a massive tree, they took all the big logs away, but left a bunch of small ones, let's just say I liberated a few of them. 🙂
I also have a broken hard wood garden chair that I was taking to the tip and then we got locked down so I'm using the wood from that too.

Looked like a great backpacking trip. Hidden meadows looked incredible! Such a beautiful area, looked like your views were worth the effort!
Hi!
Thanks for stopping by Jim! I’ve never seen 3 marmots together- that was pretty interesting! Hope you and Moe are doing well! Have a great weekend! 🥾🥾

How old is he? Cool gear sometimes helps🤣😂

I think you’ll love Hidden Meadows Camp. We were there about August 6th, and some of the flowers were a bit past prime... so if you’re interested in wildflowers I would try maybe a week earlier.

Hiking near Mount Rainer and Enumclaw is amazing! We started hiking quite a bit about around 10-12 years ago. I try to get in a nice hike at least once a week.
