tested both the 2024 z900 and the new mt 09 they are both really nice and powerful, but the mt 09 is more comfortable with its sitting position, more tech and very easy to maneuver ( 20 kilos lighter) i was hoping for a better upgrade for the new z900 but kawasaki is too lazy to just threw some tech and call it a day hence i ordered the new mt 09
I'm half surprised any of the other Japanese manufacturers are still in business considering Yamaha is the only one of them that has done any innovation in the past 10 years. Kawasaki plays catch up while Honda and Suzuki are apparently happy where they're at.
This is definitely going to be a hard choice! I am loving the redesign on both of these models. I am wondering with full bolt ons + tune if the Z will not make up the weight difference to HP disadvantage. There is one error I found in the video though that I wanted to point out for our short kings. The seat height is not 830 MM on new model. It is still at 31.9 inches or roughly 810 MM. You can go to Kawasaki main site and lists it there under specs - details.
MT All day. 40lbs is a big difference. Keep that extra cylinder, the CP3 sounds so much better. Buddy of mine has a 24Z900 and although the 25 will have better electronics than the 24 still doesn’t compare to the MT. After riding my 24MT he regretted getting the Z900. It just feels so light at higher speeds but planted at the same time. The z900 just didn’t have that fun factor once I rode it.
The mt is definetly more fun and engaging riding through the city and heavy traffic, but the z900 looks so much better and sexier. And with a full exhaust and tune nothing beats that screaming scratchy 4cil.
@ the looks thing is subjective not everyone will ever agree on one thing but that’s good means we all get choices. I do love the sound of a screaming 4 but same for a triple they are not that far apart once both are tuned and get an exhaust. That’s the great thing about motorcycles, we can all relate and randomly meet at a local bike spot and start talking like we’ve been friends for a long time because of our connection to riding motorcycles.
That’s why I mentioned on my previous comment it’s great that we all have different choices. At the end of the day no bike is perfect. We all do our research good and bad about bikes and decide. I'll probably get flak for this, but if the cb1000 hornet just had cruise control, I'd be sold. I want cruise control so bad. I use it in my car constantly, and I have a throttle lock on my bike... But it just isn't the same. I love everything about the hornet but that
Yeah, that bike gonna be unbeatable. Actually, I really want to get one, especially the SP version. That's gonna kill the market with big naked bikes...
Z for a streetable bike, boat loads more torque. Power to weight ratio, the ZX will be a tad better at the very top screaming RPM, but that only matters with drag races or track. Z will feel much stronger everywhere, much more comfortable as well. Don't forget the IMU and cruise.
Z900 is 470ish pounds compared to 425 for the MT. Different weight classes, and truth be told, 470 pounds is too damn heavy for that class. The Z900 will only cruise on a highway better. It will be worse at everything else, gotta get that weight off if they want to compete.
@@exothermal.sprocketOk enjoy your 50 extra pounds, you are paying extra for it. If I have to explain why 50 pounds is such a significant weight difference for a bike... Kawasaki is 3-4 years behind everybody
@exothermal.sprocket Compared to everything in its class. You want an extra 50 pounds, Kawasaki will have no problem selling it to you. The z900 has been worst in class for years now.
@@ori2425 According to YOU. But who are YOU, and how do you quantify this supposed massive weight penalty? By quantify, I mean explain various ways and means that this is such a horrible thing? Does it make the bike slow? Does it make it threatening to move around a garage, a parking lot? Does the weight become unwieldy to you, are you a small lightweight person? Does the weight cause the road to get damaged? Does the weight make the motorcycle absolutely miserable to steer or navigate down the highway? You have to explain why it's terrible, worst, nasty (whatever words you want to use) and simply comparing it to others is not good enough. It has more power and torque than others, by the way.
