@@JoeStanek-vu7rl no, they are not. The term “cross plane” refers to an engine that has a 90 degree phase in rotation between crank rotations making the crank profile appear to look like a cross “+”. “Standard” triples have a 120 degree throw. Give them what is technically a “Y” plane crank. The new tiger triple is considered crossplane because it fire is a 90,90,180 degree interval. Making it a “T” shape. 3/4 of a crossplane. Just like a 90 degree twin is considered crossplane because it half of one. So no, triples are not “inherently” crossplane
I've always been a Yamaha guy. During covid, it was very difficult to find new Yamahas and Hondas in my area. I gave in and bought my first ever Kawasaki (z900). Actually, it is a very nice bike. It's a well rounded configuration with plenty of power and the low speed handling, from my personal experience, is probably one of the best of all the bikes I've owned. Does not feel top heavy at all. The seat does kind if pitch me forward a little, but for short commutes it is not an issue. Many z900 owners have bumped up 1 tooth on the drive sprocket and have stated that this makes it even better in the lower gears. I will be doing the drive sprocket change this summer. Overall, this has been an awesome bike and am happy with the purchase.

Power to weight ratios become less noticeable when the rider’s weight is added to the equation. If you weight 200 lbs and you’re adding that weight to a bigger, stronger bike, it’s less of a loss of the ratio.
I’ve ridden heavier bikes (up to 1300CC) with more power, and the light weight of the MT09 has the best perceived acceleration of anything I’ve ever ridden even though it has less power. Never measured actual speed or acceleration though.
z900 is a really nice bike but i’ll take the 2024 MT-09 every day. That triple cylinder engine with quickshifter have one of the best exhaust sounds you can find in a motorcycle. Z900 is totally outdated bike
The z900 is too outdated . They should change it but not like the Mt 09 only version 2 was the best the rest was so fugly

no ride by wire is a deal breaker for z900
Cable is better
Better? I don't know about that. More direct and natural? Yes. @@radicalkonrad765
Cable feels 10x better
