The S24U is the best phone I have owned! I can't get enough of it. I do have an iPhone 15PM and I have always had flagships but this time round I think Samsung have nailed it. I also have the Galaxy 6 Watch, Tab S9 Ultra and Galaxy Book 3 Pro and the ecosystem is fantastic. Oh and I just had to buy that gorgeous Pitaka case too so thanks Alex....much appreciated.
@@AlexGTech I had a look at the book 4 the other day but I can't justify the cost right now and the book 3 is ferocious enough for me. Now if I win the lottery then Samsung will have my money lol
Got the S24U. Traded in the Fold 4 while keeping the 13PM. Honestly, can't wait for the day the fold has in-built Spen coz external Spen is such a hassle. Wow, production of these videos is on another level, bravo Alex ! As long as there are many workarounds (like that 8K video recording and then pulling picture from it, instead of simple point and shoot experience), I could not care less about Samsung phones. They'll have to change their tactics soon if they want to stay relevant in this price range - competition (even for 2-3 times less money) is strong these days !
Thank you for the compliment! And yes, I don't really think it's acceptable to have these workarounds for too long. I accept that software won't be perfect from the get go (no one can do that) but some of these flaws should have been ironed out by now.
@@AlexGTech I totally agree. At this price point, basics should work without any problem. I can understand few bugs here and there that will be eliminated with software updates, but that shutter lag/motion blur thing has been present on every Samsung phone I used in last 7 years. And many people I know who were die hard Samsung phones just gave up on their flagships because of camera experience.
yeah, real shame. When they nail it, they are the ones to beat, but they need to be more consistent with their software. Part of me thinks that adding that 5X lens screwed up with their camera software. Seeing some weird behaviours when using that lens. @@AlexGTech yeah, I can understand that all those lenses and megapixels are their selling point, but it's beyond my understanding why they are so stubborn not to polish the camera software.
Battery life is definitely subjective. I use QHD display and 120hz, fully vibrant... and still it lasts me all day through work and then at home, watching youtube, calls etc.. I'm in bed with like 30 to 20 percent left.
Absolutely. Phone calls, 8K videos, 120FPS videos and Expert RAW shots, navigation can really skew it. Do one or more of those things for an extended period and the battery will certainly take a hit. I just don't remember the S23U suffering as much
An Xcellent video as always✌️. I'm getting better battery time on my S24U than I did on my S23U, and I do use it the exact same way 👉🤳👈. Face unlock is still 💩, no matter how excellent I always look.
Why they don't fix face unlock? I have s23u and it's awful, my wife has xiaomi 12t pro and face unlock is incredible (super fast and works flawlessly every time).
The best phone I've ever owned, in terms of what I expected Vs what I got, wa the OnePlus 7 Pro. The screen was incredible, no camera cutout, it was brilliant. Can't say I'm not enjoying the S24U, it's so much better than last year when I had an iPhone 14PM. Hated it.
The video was well thought out and detailed, which I appreciated. However, I wasn't particularly impressed with the S24 Ultra. Ever since I tried the Vivo X100 Pro, other phones just can't compare, especially in portrait photography-it's on another level.
Hey Dariusz! Yes, the X100 Pro is on my list! I'm hearing great things. Most of the issues I have with the S24U seem to be related to that new 5X lens. Not sure what they've done but it seems to have messed with white balance when switching lenses and lots of noise in Expert RAW which is a shame... am kinda hoping it's fixable but like you said not impressed given how much these things cost 👊🏼

Hi, thanks to you I have switched from an iPhone to the s23 ultra last year, and I am loving it, however, the camera is supper sluggish and when I take a picture it literally kills all the other processes in the background. Hey Mate, Thank you for your honest reviews as always. This is what I love about your channel, no fluff. Just good honest down to earth stuff. I still have an old S21 which was a cracking phone, I am currently using an iPhone but going to switch soon, and may just see if I can get the S23 instead now
I switched from iPhone to S23 plus last year, realised it don’t need to have everything the same brand and rock some Apple products still (iPad and Apple TV which I doubt I will ever get rid of). I always planned to upgrade to an ultra so when s24 range came out I took the plunge. Unfortunately, even though it is an amazing device, it just could not get on with its size, shape and weight, and returned it within my returns period. I was hooked onto the S24 range though and when I researched the improvements on the s24 plus I decided to trade in my 23plus and upgrade. I am glad I did. I know everyone goes on about the chipset but for me it isn’t an issue and the phone works beautifully. I just wish there had been more reviews for the plus version, we don’t all want a brick in our pocket however amazing it is.
I hope battery life will be improved with the next updates because after the 13 pro max this battery is pretty dissapointing. Going back from 7-9 hours of SoT to 4-5 (6 best case scenario) is like a kick in the ballz 😂😐
@@AlexGTech After the update, I find that I only need to charge once per day even at 80% maximum battery protection when Qhd, vividness level 2, dark mode, 25% brightness indoor, normal adaptive 120hz, zero power saving, roughly 2 hrs of gaming, rest of the time social media like X, instagram, facebook, docs editting, tradingview, trading apps, emails, music etc. Daily SoT since update is 9-12hrs.
I have the same issue with my screen Grainy And I wanted to ask you what you mean when you say To reset accessibility settings? Can you help me with that?
was interesting to see this today on a sponsored samsung post Galaxy AI features will be provided for free until at least the end of 2025 on supported Samsung Galaxy devices. The availability of AI features provided by third parties is subject to change.
Main issue for me was the unreliable face unlock and the fingerprint not working well with a tempered glass screen protector. It was annoying to unlock the S24U whereas my Pixel 8 Pro is much more reliable for that.
Oh man I've been so impressed by the reviews on it! Will definitely look into it. Trying time Sony Xperia right now but maybe after that I will give that a go!
I love my Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra in grey titanium. Excellent in every aspect for my needs. And case-wise, I have 2 cases. I use the black Samsung 'Smart View Wallet Case' about 70% of the time. It's very strong, well made and not bulky at all. Close the front flap and your screen is protected very well. Also, when the front flap is closed time/date and current battery percentage information shows up through the upper right-hand punch-out. I also have the ESR clear case for the S24 Ultra which supports MagSafe. A very nice case with no display protection. I don't use screen protectors so I prefer using the Samsung case.
Hi Alex 👋 thanks a lot for addressing my issue😊. I will try your method for reseting it. I literally dont know why I'm facing this but yes i have switched from my S23 ultra to 24 ultra via SMART SWITCH. Maybe due to that the problem is raising ? Idk 😅
Oh no! Sorry to hear... it fixed for a few people so I thought it would work. Definitely recommend checking Reddit on this or raising it with Samsung customer service
Been an iphone user since the iphone 4. Never really toyed with the idea to switch. But now i feel it might be fun and refreshing to swap to this phone. Is it easy to integrate everything? And would people actually recommend it? I don’t use any other devices like laptops/smart watches.
I gotta be honest even though I don't regret it it was not easy. I did a couple of videos of the switch and the pain associated with it 😆 but I don't look back. It's still a bit of a mess with my macbook but it's been worth it for the extra stuff on the phone. This video here is a good place to start: ruclips.net/video/_Ac_aChCcg0/видео.htmlsi=1lzI8glMvdpE7J_9
@@AlexGTech thanks bro. Im proud of what you’ve achieved with the channel too. You’re content was good from the start, it was evident you had the talent. But productions got to an amazing level. Soon 100k 🎉
I got mine only this morning. After setting it up and now having it in use, I can definitely say it feels better than my S23 Ultra. It is a bit shorter and wider but I do appreciate the feel. Anyway, it's Samsung so we know what to expect. 😊
I enjoyed your video, and keep up the good work! I have a question. If money wasn't an issue, would you still buy S24 rather than S23 if you didn't already have one? I'm just wondering if it's worth spending those extra hundreds on the newest and greatest. Thanks
From a technological standpoint this phone is amazing. However, from a build quality standpoint it's a nightmare. In my opinion, it's the ugliest phone I've ever seen. The endless right angles adds a lot of bolt to the device and makes it difficult to hold. The curved glass from previous generations is far more ergonomic. Not to mention, curved glass looks far more premium than the flat screen slab Flintstone look. Truthfully, those pointy corners an unimaginative design makes it look like a glass casket. For $1,300-$1,600 you'd think they could design a device that didn't summon up images of a funeral home. Hypothetically, if I were interested in purchasing a modern Samsung device I would skip this and purchase the Samsung Galaxy s24 plus. It's still an unattractive slab but, at least it only costs $1,000. Furthermore, this year it was given some much-needed upgrades in the form of quad HD display, 12 g of RAM and a much larger battery. Unless you really need an s pen and a gimmicky titanium frame this is much more cost-effective. Obviously, that's just my opinion. Others are welcome to theirs.
Or can you upload the same video and picture on both phones to see how they compress.. I have done this few years back and i found iphone have lesser compression then i switched to iphone. Now im eagerly waiting for the test but I don’t have the both phones.
Great video!! but I would like to now the more "out of the box" issues with the phone more than the standard ones, Like some people are really suffering with the Earpiece speaker issues, like the speaker is open and it welcomes the dust to come in and distract the audio quality?? These are the issues people dont talk about??? please do some video on these type of under-rated issues. Thanks and your videos are Awesome!!
Hey, thanks for sharing this. Honestly, this is the first time I've heard of it. I checked Reddit and Twitter, as well as my own comments, but I never saw anything about it. I'll look into it and maybe include it in a future video.
@@SofaKingA This issue is not just limited to the S24 Ultra, but across the S-series phones, there's been a recurring issue over the past few years. Dust accumulation has been a concern, particularly in the earpiece or top speaker area due to which the sound from that speaker is losing its quality. Given its open design, dust easily enters the earpiece speaker, making it difficult to clean or remove
Here’s my experience everyone: First I upgraded from iPhone 12PM to 14PM, BIG DISAPPOINTMENT, the camera on the 14PM was an absolute piece of garbage; unfortunately I couldn’t go back to 12PM because i gave it away. I was looking at the horizon with the Galaxy S24U, I bought it and after using it for a month, i sold the S24U and I purchased a refurbished 12PM. Why? Well i noticed that yes Samsung nailed it with a lot of features and the camera is years ahead of Apple, the Galaxy is a tremendous beast, but 3b things I experienced and I’m not speaking on behalf of anybody, this is me: 1) some apps just work better on iOS, in my experience banking apps. 2) the keyboard + languages i noticed that is more fluent and accurate on iOS. 3) lags a bit, i noticed that while driving, lags switching in between apps, for example i was using google maps and YT Music. 4) my credit card was hacked.
iOS has many issues for me but I can totally see how it can be the best option for some people. Heck, I preferred it for 15 years 🤣 I'm curious though, why didn't you try the 13PM instead of the 14PM? To me the 13PM was much better
@@AlexGTech hahaha totally agreed with you Alex, iOS it does has lots of issues as well, and 1 clear example is also the keyboard, idk if iOS17 screwed it up LOL and base on my experience maybe is because the camera on the 12PM for me was the best, also on the 12PM you have the choice to turn off the HDR in which beginning with the 13 pro series you can’t anymore and that is why i heard lots of people mentioned that the oversharping and overprocessing started with the iPhone 13 Pro line up.
OmG i just reset the accessibility settings and thank you so much. I thought i was trippin and that maybe i was seeing grains where there were none...it all immediately looks so much more crisp 😂.
Mine didn't change at all but my grain wasn't bad to begin with. Not sure how the accessibility settings are linked to display settings tbh, but I tried it anyway.
Thanks for the video!! Great answers and always enjoy your work! I changed from the S21 Ultra and I'm an Spen junky so I love how I got a bigger phone that is actually slimmer than my old one in a case that supported the S-Pen. I haven't noticed the screen being any better after the recent update but it is so much brighter than my S21U so it is still a huge improvement. I loved how the camera on my S21 made outdoor shots look great even without editing, but I haven't been able to take enough photos to compare but looking forward to trying it out.

When it nails the picture it's really unbeatable
I hope battery life will be improved with the next updates because after the 13 pro max this battery is pretty dissapointing. Going back from 7-9 hours of SoT to 4-5 (6 best case scenario) is like a kick in the ballz 😂😐
Mine still maintained between 9-10hrs even after XB5 update
Yup! That's exactly what I'm experiencing right now...
My battery life is amazing. I get 9 hours of SOT easy. I've got everything turned on max.
@@spookyariel1Same! The update is amazing!
Many thanks Alex.
I have s10e and i want to upgrade to s24u but i saw alot alot of comments and reviews saying the screen and colors are bad
I have the same issue with my screen Grainy And I wanted to ask you what you mean when you say To reset accessibility settings? Can you help me with that?
Alex, we love you - keep it up man ❤
Like it so much i watch his both channels, in english and in portuguese.
The man himself!! We love you too mate, good to see you here 👊
Let's go!!!
You gotta say iphone 2:37. Jajajaja. They are both different.
😆
Grain is hardware and cant be fixed.
You dont have to try reseting anything. It wont work.
Wait, really? Do you have a source for that info?
@@AlexGTechReddit, yeah it's hardware related is the consensus.
So it unfixable? Is it a deal breaker?? Cuz I'm planning to buy an s24 ultra
Built in qi?
was interesting to see this today on a sponsored samsung post Galaxy AI features will be provided for free until at least the end of 2025 on supported Samsung Galaxy devices. The availability of AI features provided by third parties is subject to change.
Yes, I wonder how far AI will be by then. Probably won't matter too much given how fast others are moving in this space
Do you think the s24 ultra is easier to hold than the s23 ultra ?
Main issue for me was the unreliable face unlock and the fingerprint not working well with a tempered glass screen protector. It was annoying to unlock the S24U whereas my Pixel 8 Pro is much more reliable for that.
Agree on face detection. Ended up turning it off as it was annoying me
This video is 🔥
Thank you very much ☺️
S24 Ultra is the Rolls-Royce of phones. It's over the top but I love it
Well said! Not quite perfection yet but damn close to it!
@AlexGTech Right! Something about this phone, man. I'm torn between this and s24 plus. Always had plus phones so might get the ultra for once
This is such a great video. So informative and delivered with a lot of calm and grace. Love it
Thank you so much mate!!
I like your videos can you do a review on the x100 pro bc if you likes cameras that phone will blow your socks off
Oh man I've been so impressed by the reviews on it!
Nice! Tried the Sammy cases for the first time with the Fold 5 and was really impressed actually
Great review!
Cheers Mario!
Hi Alex 👋 thanks a lot for addressing my issue😊. I will try your method for reseting it. I literally dont know why I'm facing this but yes i have switched from my S23 ultra to 24 ultra via SMART SWITCH. Maybe due to that the problem is raising ? Idk 😅
My pleasure! I hope it helps you. Another viewer here said it helped her so I'm hoping that fixes it for you
Hello how do I make the reset please?
❤❤❤❤❤
👊🏼
Instantly noticed your new Smart ring. Look forward to a video about that and your new Smart watch.
Really enjoying it! A much nicer way to track sleep and the watch is a beast!! Thanks mate!
Resetting the Accesibility settings didnit resolve my grain issue .tey are still there
Oh no! Sorry to hear... it fixed for a few people so I thought it would work. Definitely recommend checking Reddit on this or raising it with Samsung customer service
I use Pitaka cases they are very grippy, slick and super strong 💪 and very well designed. I am also looking forward to Fellowship of the Ring 😂
My precious 😆 🤣
@@AlexGTech hahaha very good 😆🤣
Getting completely amazing battery life. Lasting me a day and a half at least
Awesome!! I am hoping it was just early day issues for me
Esse video vai ser postado no canal brasileiro?
Does ur s24u suffer from banding on display
No, but I've heard people with issues on Twitter. Have you tried the trick I shared at 7:10?
Soon 100k 🎉
Do u use the pitaka thin case alot and is it worth the price
I use it all the time love how the phone retains is original look and still stops the scratches
I got mine only this morning. After setting it up and now having it in use, I can definitely say it feels better than my S23 Ultra. It is a bit shorter and wider but I do appreciate the feel. Anyway, it's Samsung so we know what to expect. 😊
Amazing!! Congrats on getting it today, and glad to hear you're enjoying it! 😊
@@AlexGTech thanks buddy. Keep up the awesome work. 👏💕
I enjoyed your video, and keep up the good work! I have a question. If money wasn't an issue, would you still buy S24 rather than S23 if you didn't already have one? I'm just wondering if it's worth spending those extra hundreds on the newest and greatest. Thanks
In that scenario, I would still buy the s24 ultra, but if budget was limited, the s23 ultra is definitely the best option
But the issues @@AlexGTech
Hadn't thought of it like that, but I've been quite vocal about this design too, not my favourite...
@@AlexGTech what the heck were they thinking? LOL
Don't tell me you got hands on the galaxy ring😏
🤐 only kidding... it's a good one though, more about it soon!
You're the best! Thanks for responding to my comment about Instagram optimisation! Really appreciated ❤️
oh brilliant!! I need to do more testing in HDR and compare them both on Stories and Posts, but so far it's been pretty good
Or can you upload the same video and picture on both phones to see how they compress..
I have done this few years back and i found iphone have lesser compression then i switched to iphone. Now im eagerly waiting for the test but I don’t have the both phones.
Thank you Alex! You are helping to guide me in navigating my phone
My pleasure 🙏🏼
Alex ive both s24ultra and s23ultra I'm returning s24ultra I don't see any reason to get rid of my s23ultra.
don't blame you, that S23U still rocks!
Why returning when it last longer?
Is there a reason why I need to shell out 1200 quid for a phone that's 95% identical,?
How do i reset the accessibility settings to default? 😮
Go to General Management-> Reset -> Reset all settings Then "Reset accessibility settings" in the same menu.
Oura ring Alex? Had one for a few years now, it really is a brilliant sleep tracker, looks awesome too.
Hi Paul! It's a similar one, from Ultrahuman, really happy with it. Video soon 🙏🏼

Go to apps and delete the cache and see if that works...
What @lbeetech said 👊
Thank you, @ibeetech. I will see if it works. 🙏💪
@@AlexGTech Great Thanks!!
I'm on reddit all day and haven't heard about this issue at all.

@@AlexGTech hahaha totally agreed with you Alex, iOS it does has lots of issues as well, and 1 clear example is also the keyboard, idk if iOS17 screwed it up LOL and base on my experience maybe is because the camera on the 12PM for me was the best, also on the 12PM you have the choice to turn off the HDR in which beginning with the 13 pro series you can’t anymore and that is why i heard lots of people mentioned that the oversharping and overprocessing started with the iPhone 13 Pro line up.
that makes sense! I gave my 12PM to my wife and recently offered the 14PM to her and she was like nah... 😅
Amazing, glad it helped! 👊🏼
Another quality content. Glad the increase of subs. One of the honest reviewers out here.
I appreciate that, so cool to hear! Thanks so much 🙏🏼
Thanks for the video!!
Agree, side by side you can really tell the S21U display is nowhere near as bright. And the S21U display is no slouch!
And thank you 😊
Alex, what about the grainy display issue?
