- Finally, after years of searching, I found the budgie I was looking for! He has an almost black face and anthracite coloring, but he is actually a beautiful gray budgie. However, he is wild and untamed. Here we go again with the budgie cage setup and day-to-day taming.

I will suggest "Cirrus" after the high flying whispy cloud formation, as when I saw his colouration I was immediately reminded of fluffy Silvery clouds in a peaceful sky.

i have 2 grey budgies except their markings are brown instead of black there male and female and their names are dusky and coco 🕊
'Cloud' can a name for him. He looks like a calm before chaos rain cloud

I'm a breeder of a variety of birds, and I've been training birds for years. I have a very different approach than seen on this video that takes a lot less time. I've had wild birds that wanted nothing to do with me going from hand to hand sometimes in less than 15 minutes on the first day of training. I pick them up with a towel or glove to keep from getting bit. I sometimes I
just pick them up with my bare hands. This I wouldn't recommend unless you are experienced with avoiding them bitting you. Birds that are somewhat tame, young, or more laid back may be willing to step on a perch but not your hand until they trust you a little more.
I usually clip the wings of birds in training just enough to slow them down a little without taking their flying ability away. I often use my bathroom as the best place for training since it's the smallest room in the house. I pick them up over and over until they settle down, and then I talk to them, kiss them, and pet them . Once they trust me, I get them to go from finger to finger . I find that if I repeat this process day after day for about 10 mins at a time, I have a tame bird in less than a week. It may take longer with older birds. Younger birds are almost always easier to tame.

Birds hate being picked up though... and also just forcing your love onto them is not good? I agree that a small space will allow the bird to quickly become comfy with you but the best and only way to tame a bird is with food. Once they are tamed with food you can consider other methods of taming but first thing is first, food! Also 10 minutes a day is way too little, you need to spend a decent chunk of time with them multiple times a day because they are social and enjoy your presence whether or not they are tamed.

Mine is named Hootie, my long time favorite that I had was named Dutch. He looked identical to Cookie by the way.

hi, pls would you advise me.? My budgie is about 7 weeks old, has splayed legs but flies. His parents disowned him at 3 weeks old, and other budgies ignore him. I try to intergrade him slowly back with them, keeping very observant, never leaving him alone with them. Because he is lonely, and can hear them in the other room chirping. I want to know do you think its a good idea? or should I leave him in my room alone at the bottom of the cage...he cannot perch at all. @@Aisha-721 yes i no, im also muslim and called all my birds after prayers. Isha, Asr, Zuhr and Fajr. Shawaal is a new addition but he has a dissability stops him from walking or perching- he was born in month of shawaal ;D

Hi, I hope you & your new budgie are doing well l just recently lost my young dark green budgie. It was unexpected & heartbreaking.
Although it has been hard, I have been trying to keep his companion April healthy & happy.
My budgie's name was "Chiki" He was adorable, sweet, funny, curious, & strong. He would greet me every morning with eager little pecks. I really miss that. He was also a swift flyer just like ur little guy.*smiles*

Lovely budgie so pretty , I had lots of budgies just one I just could not really tame but his singing was beautiful and filled the house his name was jade cos he was a beautiful color green , had white And blue and yellow my blue loved his swing I didn’t notice he had worn out the clasp , sadly died at the hand of the swing m I check everything since that was years ago , but they all got bit of my heart ❤️ RIP baby’s I got a parrot now and cocktail , both are hand tame and out all day , my baby died about two year ago a blue crested parrot 🦜 I had him since he was 3 months old and he died of a heart attack age 12 I was gutted totally gutted always with me he was my butty my confidant RIP Rio I miss you awful still cry over him I blame myself , why I don’t know , he had everything and looked after like a king , it’s getting better since I had a pineapple couture she so tame but only small not as big as Rio but when I could not get one like him , I seen her and she held onto me and would not let me go , 😃so I guess she picked me lol love them so much and my yellow white cocktail

I had a gray budgie at one point whom was a male and I named him silver I tamed him simply by keeping a treat in my hand but that was the only reason he came. he then later died for no reason that I know of. (he is the bird on the right of my RUclips profile)

Today, one rainbow budgie somehow came into my garden and sat on top of the cage where my other budgies lived. I got scared but and gave the budgie to eat and drink and it didn’t seem much scared…from outside the cage it pretty much got friendly with my budgies. After trying for a long time, finally got it inside the cage. It seemed to be very dirty and thin, maybe bds it didn’t get to eat much and I don’t live in Australia so it seemed the budgie was a pet of any other person living in my area. I’m not sure what should I do but I’m trying to take care of it and hope it gets used new surrounding. I have only one question, I don’t understand that if the bird is a male or a female, I tried to look at the nose but it just keeps on moving, as far as I saw it’s kind of white and blue mixed…how do I know it’s a male of female? Or should I just wait to clearly see the nose?
also I had a pair of male budgies (accidentally) before and now I have 3 in the cage, is that ok? Or should I get another one?

Hello ayaan, as a fellow Indian and a budgie owner here are some tips,
You can use any spray bottle you find online or in some travel packs or cosmetic stores etc.
And if your budgies don’t eat fruits, maybe they are scared of its size, so try giving them pieces that are the size of their seeds, you can also try so with veggies
