Saltwater Fishing Binge Day 1. Flounder, Bluefish and a LARGE BASS

- That time of year. Ocean temps warming up and fishing turning on. This was day one of a multi-day fishing binge trying to catch whatever fish I could. Started out doing some light tackle Jigging for Flounder, quarter ounce jigs and gulp in the shallows yielded a few Fluke and a bunch of bluefish bites, after that made a move and found just one Bluefish at dusk before fishing through the night and getting skunked. There were miracles in the waves though as my buddy Lou (RIP LOU I LOVED YOU) got a nice big Rogue 47" Bass.

It's annoying sometimes but I just carry every bit of tackle I own in one giant backpack. It keeps me sane.
and then when you're bass fishing you only use one bait while carrying a 25 pound bad for miles hahaha
@@lukec.8941 pretty much lol. Usually I'll pull the bass box out of the backpack and just carry that in a little daypack, but it *always* goes back into the backpack when I'm done.
Even if I can't get near the water on a particular day, my truck is jammed with tackle, sanity counts,tight lines.

Grew up in RI fishing bass and blues but have been in CA for 40+ years. Your vids almost make me want to head east for a bass blitz. Maybe this fall. But I can’t let it interfere with the local tuna fishing.

I kayak fished about a mile from where u were, on canary creek area and oyster rocks rd, was a grind for a single flounder bite
damn like I said in the vid thats my first time catching a flounder back there. usually I get discouraged real quick by dirty water and heavy boat traffic but that day things worked out.
Iv'e been smoking the bluefish this spring on Sp's....the last week has really been good! This week looks like it should be awesome with full moon and onshore flow from storm...going out now and braving the 30mph winds!

So I'm a freshwater angler just beginning to saltwater fish. This weekend I'll be going down the the jersey shore for big bluefish. What lures or tips would you recommend/give to me? Any help would be appreciated!
Cut up pieces of bunker. If you cut the anal fin chunk out it has much more fat oil in it then the other pieces. I gather all those pieces out of the bait bucket on party boats and out fish the guys around me. They try but can not figure out why. Lol
I mush it up as much as possible. You will see the oil slick when you put it in the water..
Alan Bai saltwater is way better in my opinion but make sure your gear can handle that salt.

i like it. mainly use it for winter freshwater stuff but seemed like itd be good for very light saltwater jigging and it held up to those smallish fish just fine. lakers and walleye is what I really bought it for
