    Pretty sure that 1st fish was a meanmouth (smallmouth/spotted bass hybrid) because of the smallmouth stripes on its face plus more agrresive than a spot

    Certified spotted bass catcher here lol.
    Those are 100% spotted bass.
    The juvenile ones are usually pretty skinny like that. I actually cant recall a spot I've caught 12 inches or less that wasn't super skinny like that.

      @@spellfoxx72 would be perfectly legal and possible in a state like Tennessee where fishing tournaments aren’t regulated. I as long as many others run tournaments here with as little as a notebook, pen, scale, and a table.

      I live in Oswego NY and the spillway is not even 1 minute away from my house Lake Ontario feeds into it and their are tons of species.

    Bro, I'm a Maryland fishermen like yourself but gotta say SC is such a great fishing state. So many species. Be cautious because there are alot more poisonous snakes, Wildcats and Boar there.     Since your in South Carolina u gotta hit lake greenwood in the town of greenwood and cedar falls national park in fork shoals. My first channel catfish came out of greenwood it was a nice 5 pounder. And I just went yesterday morning to cedar falls and caught a nice little largie.

    I have a lot of success with many different Black Bass species using the 1" EPF swim; at least three different species. One of my biggest LMB of the year came off the EPF swim.

    We have some awesome fishing here. One of my favorite creeks holds such a variety of fish from brim to bowfin to LGM bass to chain pickerel and even catfish!

    Spotted bass in my area are so active all the time. Have a know how on a river system that feeds into ponds naturally and it pays. Pays to WADE the river system to learn!

      Flatheads and channels will become very active. Bass will be tight to structure and more shallow and possibly more difficult to catch

I would have never jerked a bait as hard as you do, but you taught me that i can jerk it hard too. Lmao. I tried jerking it hard today and actually got a couple good strikes. No fish tho.

    If you're ever down there again, try Paris Mountain State Park (Lake Placid), Lake Hartwell, Lake Robinson (need a boat for the big bass), The ponds between the football training facility and baseball stadiums at Clemson University hold some big bass too.

    This is the Clifton beach on the Pacolet river, you are fishing near Clifton Glendale rd and Goldmine rd, this area has been closed to the public since July for bacterial reasons

    I’m from SW North Carolina and the Googan saucy swimmer in the California claw color or the electric shad. And btw I can confirm those were definitely spotted bass. They fight better than large mouths for their size but not quite as fun as smallies.

    We have a few sub species in the south depending on the water basin. Where I live it's Coosa bass.
