Pretty sure that 1st fish was a meanmouth (smallmouth/spotted bass hybrid) because of the smallmouth stripes on its face plus more agrresive than a spot
Certified spotted bass catcher here lol. Those are 100% spotted bass. The juvenile ones are usually pretty skinny like that. I actually cant recall a spot I've caught 12 inches or less that wasn't super skinny like that.
Good video. That water fall definitely increased in flow with the rain. Good to see the great baby care from the new mommy. Congratulations to both of you.

You talking about being a Master jerker had me rolling. Good luck and a shout out to all the Maryland fishermen.
An in-line spinner would be great at that spot too! I always throw a spinner like the Mepps Aglia at new bodies of water especially when there's current! 👊 🎣
Where do you get your live bait? (like minnows and salties and stuff) I've been trying to find a place but they are all in the exact opposite direction from my house of were I wanted to use minnows.
Since your in South Carolina u gotta hit lake greenwood in the town of greenwood and cedar falls national park in fork shoals. My first channel catfish came out of greenwood it was a nice 5 pounder. And I just went yesterday morning to cedar falls and caught a nice little largie.
I have a lot of success with many different Black Bass species using the 1" EPF swim; at least three different species. One of my biggest LMB of the year came off the EPF swim.
We have some awesome fishing here. One of my favorite creeks holds such a variety of fish from brim to bowfin to LGM bass to chain pickerel and even catfish!

Hey Mike just wanted to say your videos are awesome been watching since the beginning love it. That fish that you caught that looked like a spotted bass. It was actually a mean mouth bass you were right it’s a smallmouth/largemouth hybrid
Just placed my first order on Karls tackle using your link and code. Got a Stutter Step, a couple of Googan frogs, A Googan Crankbait, and a Googan Jerkbait. These will be my first Googan baits and I cant wait to try them out. Ive also never used a Jerkbait.

I’m from SW North Carolina and the Googan saucy swimmer in the California claw color or the electric shad. And btw I can confirm those were definitely spotted bass. They fight better than large mouths for their size but not quite as fun as smallies.
