I disassembled it, and found that if I potted some "shim washers" behind that anti-backlash magnet assembly, it got the magnets closer to the spool without rubbing, and I could get better control with about a 6 to 7 out out 10-Max setting. I also noticed that the handle shaft had some internal end play, maybe only 2 or 3 thousands of an inch, but it's still noticeable. If the anti-backlash and shaft tolerances were "tightened up" this would be a fantastic value. I've only used it for 4 days of fishing in a month's time, but I plan on keeping it.

2:13 the rod he is using is a Duckett Ghost rod. that is one of my ALL TIME favorite rods. They quit making them and replaced it with the Silverado model, which makes me kinds sad. I like the Ghost. I have a Ghost and a Green Ghost(which is a ghost blank with larger eyelets, and different grips)

Back when I used to catfish, I made "doughballs" with flour, garlic and bacon grease. I used a treble hook for the bait, but I would take a old pair of my wifes pantyhose and cut them into 3 inch squares and wrap the entire bait with it. It really helped keep the bait longer !
