1Rod1ReelFishing I was changing from a spinnerbait to a rattletrap. I put the rattletrap on the deck of the boat for one more cast. My Dad got a bite so I turned and looked, he set the hook so I was going to get the net and I stepped on the rattletrap. Long story short, the treble hook went through my toe 😂😂
Also one time I was fishing a local pond and got attacked by 5 birds.....in ONE day!!

Catfish swam against my line and tangled up because he broke off someone's walleye rig, which then caught my sinker and hook. Landed the guy, he was a decent 8 lbs

Also, I was fishing from a boat and snagged a star fish. We threw it back. We moved around a few spots and then came back to the same spot, following a school of black rockfish. I dropped down and caught the exact same star fish. It had a hook mark in the exact spot I hooked it before and it looked identical.

A few years ago I was up in Canada fishing on flower lake. We were fishing for big brook trout and lake trout. I had caught a few on that trip but they were pretty small. Finally in the last day were were heading back to the truck on a boat. So I thought I would just take a couple casts and after a few I got I big bite from a big brook trout. I was fishing in a tiny little rod and during the fight it went under the boat and broke my pole. I looked at my dad and he yelled keep reeling. So I kept reeling and surprisingly landed that fish. It was a 5lb brook trout. My grandfather had it mounted.

This happened to my daughter and I. She had a fish break her off. She was using a small bobber and worms. Bobber goes down, she sets the hook and snap. Broke off. Half hour later we see the bobber moving around on the other side of the pond. We go over there and see the bobber breaking the surface and going back down. Like the movie Jaws...…….The next time I see the bobber surface I throw a plastic lizard bait toward it. The bobber goes down and fish ON. I land the fish and we get the bobber and the hook back. CRAZY

Fishing in Canada this July at Lac du Fils I broke off twice trolling for pike. One reason at 14 feet and once at 23. Last day of the trip we were throw spoons and jerkbaits on a grassy flat in 4-7 feet of water. Last cast before turning around to troll, I hooked into a 39 5/8 inch pike once more. 27 hooks in one mouth. 2 bandit walleye trolling baits recovered, a 39 5/8 Pb northern on a 6thsense provoke and one hell of a story.

I know of a young kid who caught a 6 pound largie, crazy part was there was a hook already in its mouth from someone else's line. What was even crazier than that, is that the kids hook had slid through the eye of the hook that was already stuck in the fishes mouth, and that's how he made contact and was able to reel it in.

I then kept throwing it in because the smallmouth was on lockdown and I then caught him again and it was 5lbs. In the same day I got a huge backlash and my swimbaits was still in the water when I was untangling it and as I was my rod tip just started bending and I started to hand line it in and it ended up being a 4.5 craziest fishing day of my life. I was in Port Aransas, TX fishing from a pier with my brother when I was a kid. A guy that was also fishing from the pier asked us to watch his rod while he ran to his hotel. I wasn’t paying really close attention to his rod (pause), but I saw it fly into the ocean. We told him what happened when he came back. Either the next day or 2 days later my brother caught a stingray. That stingray had extra line coming out of its mouth so we pulled it up and at the end was a rod. Unfortunately we never saw that guy again. I think that old rod and reel is still in my dad’s shed.

Me and my mom went out trout fishing at Pinewood reservoir here in Colorado. Normally, I don't talk about the lake, but this one has an inlet that brings water from the western slope of Colorado. This usually creates a lot of current, so its where we fish. Anyway, she hooked one, but while she was fighting it, she got distracted by something and the fish took the whole rod out of her hand! I felt so bad. Her fish, and more importantly her rod/reel went back into the lake. So, I sat there and casted a few times while we talked it over. I decided that I would catch 1 more and call it a day, because I don't want to be out there fishing while my mom is sitting there doing nothing. I hooked into one, reeled it in, and once I got it to shore I saw another hook in its mouth just like you did! I un-hooked the fish, then tied the line to mine, because my mom was using bright orange mono, and I was sure it was hers. I started reeling in, and holy crap! It was hers! To this day, we still talk about the odds that I would hook into the same fish, and recognize her line, and end up pulling in her entire rod/reel.

When I was younger My dad and I were fishing a local catfish tournament. Something hit his line that was wedged against a cleat on the dock. It hit on the perfect angle that it whipped the back end of the rod around and pulled it right in the water.
20 mins later he was reeling in another and all of a sudden we saw about a foot of a rod stick up out of the water. My dad dove in and grabbed the rod. Low and behold it was his rod the damn catfish was still hooked on the other end. Didnt win the tournament but sure made a great story.... RIP DAD

I was fishing a small creek with a tube jig targeting bass and perch. I broke off on a small fish and thought nothing of it, and left the spot to fish up the creek a little further. Upon coming back to the spot where I broke off a little later, I noticed a beached perch just hanging out on the small rocks where I was fishing, and I kid you not, the perch had the hook with the tube jig on it in its mouth. I took the hook out and released the fish back into the creek.

Thanks for the great video! I have a tiny pond near my house and I was broke off. He’s still in there with my lure! Would be great to get it back. Cost me like $8.00 LOL

@1:21 "I know they're hitting moving baits out here"... I mean i caught my first bass on a bobber, split shot sinker, J hook, and two pieces of corn but... how often do you you fish for largemouth bass with a non moving bait and expect to be successful?

I was fishing with a buddy one time on the river for flatheads. He stuck his rod on a forked stick but forgot to turn his clicker on. The next week, we went back to the same spot. He hooked a 23 lb flathead, got it in and it had line sticking out of it. Pulled the line in and there was his rod. One of the wildest things I’ve ever seen.

James Mauch of course I love fishing itself but Mike made it so much better! His adventure and getting into really hard fishing spots inspired me to experiment it myself!

I was fishing the salmon river in Pulaski NY and I broke off on a king salmon with my fly rod. It broke at my running line and took my leader, fly, and a good chunk of my running line. After fishing for about 10 minutes I hooked a fish but it wasn't the fish I hooked it was my backing so I let up pressure then clipped my new leader off and blood knotted the backing to my line and landed the fish.
