i got this game for my 5 year old nephew because im trying to pry him away from those violent war games. he saw the trailer of the game and immediately hated it, he said the game was for babies. then he saw me playing it and having a bunch of fun and he yelled I WANNA PLAY TOO!

i'd like to share a story. When I first played this game way back in 2009, I was so hyped when I unlocked King Boo and Diddy Kong. I didn't even know you could unlock stuff, I made it my mission to unlock all the characters, but as a 5 year old I just couldn't. King Boo on the Offroader became my new go-to combo. I would use it every race for every cup. sometimes it didn't work but it was still fun as hell. I played this game just about everyday until a power surge knocked out my wii in 2013. It broke my heart. But then I found out that wii games could be played on the wii u and Christmas 2014, I got a wii U. I immediately put my mariokart wii disc that i'd saved from 2009 into the wii u and played the game again. It was like old times. I was still a kid at this point, pretty rubbish at the game but just played it for the good time. It wasn't until 2016 when I really started getting good and started winning in 150cc and Mirror. I kept playing the game in the years gone by and in 2020 I finally unlocked Rosalina, the last one left to get. I finally achieved a goal I'd been working towards for 11 years. I shed a tear because to me this isn't just a game, its a part of who I am. 13 years on from that little boy who got a wii in 2009 and I still play undoubtably my favourite game of all time, here in 2022.

oh the nostalgia mario kart 8 is amazing but i wish they didn't remove things from mario kart wii the pow and mega mushroom used to be amazing and the raising your bike was what made me get first almost every time most karts have benefits and others don't the only thing that annoyed me is the characters are so hard to get but it makes the game so much more exciting but nintendo always seems to bring new and interesting things to the table from the soundtracks to the courses i love this series.

I honestly have to say Mariokart Wii is the greatest Mariokart of the entire franchise. It made such a HUGE impact and it's still being played to this day, it had the PERFECT amount of characters; all of which were MARIO related and not non-Mario characters like MK8DX, the wi-fi option was legendary, the hacks and shortcuts were amazing, the tracks were awesome and memorable, the soundtrack was on point, the graphics were pretty good for it's time, it was a well-balanced mix of a simple and difficult game, and the character selections were legendary: Funky Kong, Daisy, Bowser Jr, Diddy Kong, Rosalina, King Boo, Dry Bones, and of course all the staple characters like Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, Wario, Waluigi, Toad, Donkey Kong and Bowser. It's honestly the perfect Mariokart game imo.
I loved playing as funky Kong in the game, I was a master at mario kart wii, made it to 9800 vr. but that's when they shuted down mkw worldwide l. why did they do it? I extremely hope they open it up again and I can make it to 9999vr.
i love the wii sports map in this game where u race over a bridge, and when u play wii sport resort, go on that airplane minigame, and check the bridge you can actually see regular cars riding, or racing idk
I got this game on pevious christmas and was so happy I played it day and night and my mom didnt say one word then it got boring and now I just started playing it and it feels like the first days I got it
ah the abiltiy to lose friends in a day, a nice 5 minute match on Mushroom Gourge and then 30 minutes later... screaming at the TV after you get blue shelled on the last lap on Rainbow Road.
This is the best game I’ve every played. It is my CHILDHOOD! Everyone who says this is the worst Mario Kart (cause those insane ppl exist) , I will throw endless blue shells at ur face.
My favorite game of all time was this. On Friday, I’d come home and play this and when a kart/character/bike was unlocked, I’d know that all of that hard work was worth it. Now, it’s in my garage and I can’t find it which sucks.

I got the Mario Kart edition for my Wii, the only downside it didn't come with Wii sports and I was young at the time and didn't know what it was.
