I once had Wyndham lure me into buying a time share through offering a free few days at their hotel. All while charging hundreds of dollars to buy this time share... it didn’t make any sense so I walked out and left. The whole thing was so shady, worse than the salesman at a car dealership.

We almost fell for one of those "free" weekends at a Time-Share when we were in our late 20's. So thankful that we decided to pass. Unfortunately, we have friends that have two time shares.
My neighbor bought a timeshare in Mexico. She tried to foist a week on me, posing it as, “You could take your mom over Thanksgiving!” I take it they got stuck with that week. Pretty nervy trying to recover the money by getting it from me. We have a traditional Thanksgiving, and my mom is not the type to enjoy Mexico.
Timeshare: That's when you own the right to use a certain property for a week or other number of days but as an OWNER instead of a visitor. What most people who sign up seem to forget is, homeownership is not free. There are expenses - like a new roof and replacing the plumbing and the water heater as needed. Well the timeshare people charge WAAAAY too much money for WAAAAY too little of the actual usage to the point where you - along with all the other co-owners of the place - end up paying 20 times or more of the value of the building you bought access to. And even worse, you only get to access it for the week or so you agreed to but you're paying 20 times cost of owning all 52 weeks.
