Funny I agree. However that is one thing that I really like about the Dave Ramsey Show. People call and give specific number about their financial situations. If they don't give those numbers, Dave will ask. No harm, it's all anonymous.

That doesn't make it right. I watch Dave's show and follow his financial advice but I cringe every time he calls someone stupid. It's not okay and that is actually "classless". People get desensitized by people's celebrity status. It's wrong for Dave to do it just as it is for anyone else. He fires her for her sin but turns around and sins by cussing. His firing her and canceling her insurance is just as bad as her having pre marital sex. The hypocrisy is incredible. He's gonna lose this one.
You're projecting your own bias into the situation. You weren't raised in "the church." You were raised by people, who are sinners. Your one congregation may not have been doing it right. But if you read the bible, all kinds of congregations had their own problems. This is nothing new. You're literally blaming God for the actions of people in your one congregation. @@44fastgun wait, so youre going to dismiss the the old testament commandments as if God hmself didnt speciically command them hmself? When do you think god became more moral than his behavior in the OT? Keep in mind that according to Christians, Jesus himself commanded the atrocities and disgusting law in the OT, because he is the creator god.
@@EDUAROSOLAS You didn't hear me dismiss anything. The Old testament laws were valid and established to prepare for the Messiah, whose presence would begin a new covenant. The OT itself foretells the expiration of that dispensation (Jeremiah 31: 31-34, Ezekiel 36: 24-28). I do not see where God was any less Holy than He's always been. The only real OT atrocity I see is wicked human beings rebelling and despising their creator after He revealed to them their best path to eternal existence. If you are trying to suggest slavery as "God's huge mistake", then you would be the one guilty of dismissing the OT. The whole system reveals itself in Exodus to resemble what in modern times is called indentured servanthood; it was a voluntary, temporary path to land-ownership for the poor, with strict laws against abuse, and provisions for voluntary permanence due to many servants developing favorable relationships with their employer. Compare that to the secular welfare disaster of today that panders to poor folks until election day, gives little incentive to work,, then leaves them with a mere grocery check for the rest of their lives. I think you got the OT confused with the humanisticly-developed secular Euro-colonial slavery system, which was involuntary, abusive, and violated every precept that was the OT social structure.

It's true Dave wouldn't know 100% if his male unmarried employees are sleeping around, unless clear evidence emerges and given that they can't get pregnant as proof is also another factor, but the women they do impregnate can also come forward with strong evidence they got pregnant by them, but of course there can also be many women in his company that do not get caught having premarital sex because they simply did not get pregnant, unless they have other evidence. As a woman working for a christian company if you know you are already breaching agreement by having premarital sex, and then you get pregnant then of course the evidence is there, and you knew there was a risk of obvious evidence being seen. Woman can get pregant and if they do before marriage they took that risk. I think DR holds unmarried men just as accountable if he find out they were having sex out of marriage, even if they can't pregnant. Evidence is evidence. Now if she wanted a child for her self without being married, she could adopt, or have artificial insemination from a sperm donor or invetro fertilization, I dont think God wants you to have premarital sex just cause you want to raise a kid on your own.
Dig deeper, she is not the only person who has been fired, just the first to stand up to him. She was fired for premarital sex not pregnancy. If so how do they monitor the sexual activities of the employees? We will see how this plays out. There is a YT video that covers legality and he did not handle a male employee in the same way.
Probably because firing for pregnancy is against federal law apparently whereas firing for stepping out of the moral code agreement might not be illegal. If she is naturally pregnant (not in vitro) and is not married, then the pregnancy proves she had premarital sex.
@@powers6253 Did she say how she got pregnant? What if she was raped? There is no law that says a woman must go to Police. It is difficult to prove date rape, and not every woman wants to go to court.

It's not the employers business if people have pre marital sex
As a Christian, when someone is in need, that is not the time to judge. It is the time to be supportive and kind. All of the men in his company can have all of the premarital sex in the world and he would never know. This woman could have had invitro, her birth control failed or just wanted to have a child without marriage. But to take away her source of income and benefits is cold. DR you will see this day again. To much that is given, much is required. And remember, Mary wasn't married.
Couldn't have said it better myself! I find empathy to be lacking in many TV personalities that claim to be Christian.
Because Mary was made pregnant by God, and carried the son of God, and the savior of the world. Totally diffrent.
Jewish marriage was different, and Mary remained a virgin. Best to leave her out of this.

The problem Dave will run into is the picking and choosing of who has to follow the rules. Chris Hogan was allowed to keep his job after multiple affairs if he took counseling. He had a book coming out that would make a lot of money for Dave so he was allowed to stay much longer.
Dave Ramsey can argue that the woman got fired for violating company policy that she agreed to. However, when there's a conflict between company policy vs. federal law, federal law always takes precedent. What will probably happen is the woman won't be hired back but may get some maternity leave compensation since federal law states that a woman has a right to it.
I listen to Dave's show and went through Financial Peace University. I would say I'm "Davish" in re to what I learned in the class, and I have a lot of respect for him. But if Federal Law says you can't fire a person for being pregnant then he may wind up losing this lawsuit. On the other hand it is his business and should be able to run it his way. He already lost an $80,000 lawsuit for firing someone because they're gay. He has this and one other lawsuit pending.
Firing someone for sex before marriage is hardly a detriment to anyone's place of work. It's not immoral, it's discrimination. And we have actual US Labor laws to protect against that, FYI...
Biblical teaching includes FORGIVENESS. Many "good church people" are GUILTY of fueling the abortion industry through LACK OF COMPASSION.

She refused the money he offered her upon separation. Sounds like she's looking for "deep pockets." She claims she didn't know about the policy, yet said she was "terrified" when she told them she was pregnant. Her story is inconsistent.
Not inconsistent. She probably thought they were going to call her stupid and yell at her. Not fire her.

The severance was the empathy

Even if it is in condition of employment. Is it lawful? Can you dismiss someone because they are pregnant in America? Should employment condition be abide by the law?
@Prey R i think thats what happened too. As a christian company if they dont hold people accountable, they arent representing a christian company. People know what they're getting into when they get a job there. With that said I do think people of faith should take a different approach when dealing with these situations. A private school in my area is known to kick girls out who get pregnant. If we want to see the practice of abortion phased out then we need to act like it. What do we think leaving a young girl educationless or jobless is going to do to her decision making when it comes to the choice of ending the pregnancy.
Yeah but his company is not considered a non profit or a faith based organization, he could make it that if he wanted to. He has no legal right to terminate people because of premarital sex, he runs a for-profit corporation.
So you are saying a junior high or high school full of pregnant girls is a good thing. Pro life and good morals go hand in hand.
That's exactly why the anti-abortion movement/"right to life" movement is nothing but hypocrisy and careless, reckless behavior towards women and minorities. If they won't stand up and openly discuss and campaign for Sex ED, financial support for broke mothers, food stamps, counseling, better insurance, better medical care, better and more accessible food and care for their children and families, etc, etc, then they never cared about the babies and their families. They are all only about control, tyranny and oppression. That's all.
That's why abortion matters so much. It gives all of these women in hard times a way to bounce back, a way to course-correct their broken, oppressed lives. To move onto bigger and better without the burden and hardship of a forced pregnancy, brought down on them due to an intentional ignorance of proper and safe sex and education by our system. It gives women more options. It's health care. This is an extremely personal decision that is meant only between a woman, her doctor and her family. Not the government. The government slows things down, the government ruins everything.
@@Vandicoup they got themselves into their situation and how many are happily fulfilled aborters? Would it be great if a dad didn’t want kids so he could take a hammer to their heads?
