@@EDUAROSOLAS You didn't hear me dismiss anything. The Old testament laws were valid and established to prepare for the Messiah, whose presence would begin a new covenant. The OT itself foretells the expiration of that dispensation (Jeremiah 31: 31-34, Ezekiel 36: 24-28). I do not see where God was any less Holy than He's always been. The only real OT atrocity I see is wicked human beings rebelling and despising their creator after He revealed to them their best path to eternal existence. If you are trying to suggest slavery as "God's huge mistake", then you would be the one guilty of dismissing the OT. The whole system reveals itself in Exodus to resemble what in modern times is called indentured servanthood; it was a voluntary, temporary path to land-ownership for the poor, with strict laws against abuse, and provisions for voluntary permanence due to many servants developing favorable relationships with their employer. Compare that to the secular welfare disaster of today that panders to poor folks until election day, gives little incentive to work,, then leaves them with a mere grocery check for the rest of their lives. I think you got the OT confused with the humanisticly-developed secular Euro-colonial slavery system, which was involuntary, abusive, and violated every precept that was the OT social structure.

Ramsey has no accountability; he is an entertainer, not a fiduciary. He spouted off a few months ago that an 8% withdrawal rate is reasonable. However as someone who always claims the moral High Ground he had an obligation to tell people that if they're going to follow what he said that day, they need to be expecting to fail around 45% of the time on a typical 30-year retirement based on historical evidence. But Dave isn’t a fiduciary, he’s an entertainer, so what the hey. I know you can say well history is no no indication of the future; but it's all we've got and to ignore it is as stupid as people who ignore National History or political history. (Not to mention Dave cites the market history regularly) So, he could have put it another way and said "if you took this advice over the previous 68 completed 30-year rolling time horizons, YOU WOULD HAVE FAILED 45% OF THE TIME." That's objective, that's factual, and most importantly, that's critical for moral High Ground Dave to have done. In statistics a p-value 95% confidence interval is somewhat standard. For medical studies often 99% confidence interval is warranted. NEVER is a p-value 55% confidence interval tolerated...except when "shoot-from-the-hip" ENTERTAINER Dave Ramsey decides it meets his purpose. If Ramsey stuck to his high moral principles, he'd fire himself, but those high morals are only in play when it serves his agenda. He was so outraged that George Kamel put out that 3% withdrawal rate "trash"…but but he's still on the show. Why? Does Dave agree with propagating trash? If anything, Kamel is reasonable and Ramsey's assertion is "trash." At a minimum, he could own what he did and address it...but not Dave, it would bruise his fragile ego. According to Ramsey, he's made many dumb mistakes; however, the last one he made was in the 1980s. So, let's say Billy Bob listens into good old Dave’s show and Billy Bob he knows a little but not much, so he goes to the expert Dave Ramsey. Billy Bob retires January of 2000. He follows Dave Ramsey's advice that he heard because of the guy talks to millions of people he must know. Billy Bob has a million dollar portfolio so he takes out 80,000 in that first year and then adjust for inflation every year beyond that. Billy Bob goes broke in the year 2009 - now Billy Bob is sleeping on a park bench. But let's just entertain some more Dave Ramsey wisdom where he says if you're smart like me, you'll get 12% on your Investments not 10 like the market. Okay so we'll take the same scenario and we'll pretend that Billy Bob is as smart as Dave Ramsey (and the only person in the world smarter than both of them is Warren Buffett) so we're going to bump him up 2% every year over what the market returned. Dave said you can get 12 so if you bump up every year by 2% you're as good as Dave Ramsey. Well it's 2010 instead of 2009 that Billy Bob is broke. You think Billy Bob's going to praise Dave Ramsey now that he only has to sleep on the park bench for 19 years instead of 20? Now, I'm not saying everything that Ramsey says is incorrect. A lot of his advice is reasonable...and it better be pretty good if you're talking to millions of people. However, when he screws up he screws up big time. He always claims the moral high ground; as such he had the obligation to let his millions of people know that in that case, in a typical retirement of 30 years, you will end up broke nearly half of the time, and in some cases within a decade. If anyone really believes he had no duty to say something to that effect, s/he needs to stop worshiping at the alter of Ramsey.

An agreement signed willingly doesn't mean it is a violation of Federal law but may mean you are surrendering certain rights you might have under Federal law otherwise. Many people sign away their right to find remedy in court by agreeing to an arbitration clause. Some things like worker classification are pretty tight in that even if the employee and employer agree the employee is an exempt salary or contractors position the law prevents that agreement. Firing someone for sex before marriage is hardly a detriment to anyone's place of work. It's not immoral, it's discrimination. And we have actual US Labor laws to protect against that, FYI...
His teachings on money are not biblical. They are mostly helpful reasonable, but they could as well be recommended by an atheist. He himself is a Christian and he sells his courses via the churches. Plus he is a control freak.

BINGO
This was two years ago.
Its unprofesionall
Ramsey is an asshole and has no right to fire someone over this unless she signed something
she is and doing this interview just made her look even more stupid and classless

And it's ironic that you mention the gender disparity here because Dave Ramsey had to fire a male employee for cheating on his wife. So your logic doesn't hold up.

Her point was that since men can’t get pregnant, they can have all the premarital sex they want and probably get away with it, because it would be harder for anyone to find out. But if a woman has premarital sex and gets pregnant, her employer will know because she is literally visibly pregnant.
This rule is discriminatory against women even though it didn’t intend to be. In practice, women are at a much higher risk of getting in trouble for breaking the rule than men are.
@@saxaphone9496 She means that since men can't get pregnant, it won't be as obvious. That is easily avoidable and would be a very stupid thing to do. As long as he kept quiet about it, he wouldn't be punished because Dave wouldn't find out.

Dave Ramsey can argue that the woman got fired for violating company policy that she agreed to. However, when there's a conflict between company policy vs. federal law, federal law always takes precedent. What will probably happen is the woman won't be hired back but may get some maternity leave compensation since federal law states that a woman has a right to it.

If so how do they monitor the sexual activities of the employees? We will see how this plays out. There is a YT video that covers legality and he did not handle a male employee in the same way.
Probably because firing for pregnancy is against federal law apparently whereas firing for stepping out of the moral code agreement might not be illegal. If she is naturally pregnant (not in vitro) and is not married, then the pregnancy proves she had premarital sex.

Why do these women go work for a group of people they know operate a certain way and then years late sue them after being on their payroll? Why not just don't work for such organizations?

Then don’t sign a morals clause and work somewhere else.
The basis of his business is biblical teaching on life and finances. He falls more in the category of missions. Firing someone for sex before marriage is hardly a detriment to anyone's place of work. It's not immoral, it's discrimination. And we have actual US Labor laws to protect against that, FYI...
Biblical teaching includes FORGIVENESS. Many "good church people" are GUILTY of fueling the abortion industry through LACK OF COMPASSION.
His teachings on money are not biblical. They are mostly helpful reasonable, but they could as well be recommended by an atheist. He himself is a Christian and he sells his courses via the churches. Plus he is a control freak.

The fact that Dave Ramsey doesn’t act Christian (or Christ-like) himself is what has me laughing.
