Literally from the first three notes of the "What's That Riff", I was like, "come on, guys...it's the intro of "Love Song" by Tesla!" That song was huge. Clearly Rick wasn't into radio rock in the late 80s-early 90s...still loved this video and his very cool studio! Thanks for making it, Gerald.

Interesting to see this behind the scenes view of Rick's setup. I worked in the 80s-90s as both a pro musician and pro photographer (even some video), but mostly the two were separate careers. It's cool to see how the two blend together in terms of gear, especially lighting controls.

This is such a great video, because Rick and Gerald are both on my Top Subscribed List and I am waiting every time either of them put out a new video (in fact I often keep their videos up and repeat watch them). Even though I was in Video/Audio production for years, I had never noticed how much respectful efforts that Rick had put into his studio (I had seen Geralds because of his move recently into the new space), What was great is how much I appreciated Rick allowing Gerald to come in and show these great spaces off ! You have a couple of really classy people here.

So cool! I think Rick has such a great "RUclips vibe" - intimate, casual, but it always sounds and looks great without trying to overdo the production value. His videos always feel like he's having a chat with us, and the lighting/audio are just subtle and... perfect. Thanks for doing this!

Good one! I'm glad you picked Beato. I wondered what his studio is like.
I remember when I started in Television, working for WUTR in Utica, NY. Everything was massive and expensive (working with Betacam SP). You can now outfit an entire studio like this with multiple cameras and lights for what it probably took to buy one camera back then (and it looks way better). The industry has come so far!

Interesting to hear you talking about the colour of light. Without thinking any more of it, I always felt it was a very warm, welcoming environment because of the lighting.

Absolutely fantastic. I'm not into technical aspects of these things, these RUclips videos but I'm a musician and Rick is king as far as music goes. So I really thank you for this different approach to the technical aspects of the creative process with Rick's studio. You really treated him and the matter with big respect and a very delicate sense of humor. For that I'm going to dig into your channel. you seem like a very nice smart dude. The locked off shot is giving me green screen vibes even in this video! Even when Patrick enters the frame, it looks like he's in front of a green screen. Something to do with the lighting I suppose.
