The Balrog, or Regen Poison Paladin, is one of the most impressive builds I've ever played in Diablo 2: Resurrected. Its prowess in duels (PvP), albeit Bad-Mannered, is impressive!

without D2R and Coooley i would have never seen the dueling side of diablo since i dont duel but dang that build was fire 🔥
Way back in the day, SSoG made an invincible paladin stacking these auras as well as DR% and PDR. He called it the 'Abbot' paladin because he rocked a heavy hitting elite Insight staff. Guide is still out there if you search for it. Now with Cure, it's even more viable -- easy to run all 3 healing auras at once. Pair it with Charge or Vengeance and it could be pretty deadly too, although kinda slow clear for PvE
He also had a Griswold variant to it from what I recall for PVM, popped sol runes into all the sockets and made the damage reduction so high that you replenished more life than you took. I remember just going AFK in the cow level to eat dinner and everything was fine when I got back. Legend in theorycrafting.

The reason why venom fucks it up is due to psn skill overwriting duration.
So if u have 451psn damage over 12 seconds on a item, then that sc has a dps of 451/12 = 37,58 per second.
Now 37,8*0,4 = 15 damage over 0,4 seconds.
So stay away from item psn when dealing with venom, or stay away from. Venom when dealing with item psn.
But then there is combining psn skills.
Psn dagger + venom
Plague javelin + venom with direct hit
Poison jav + venom with direct hit
Rabies did not combine in d2lod, i have not tested in d2r.
So combining skills can be epic!
Level 8 psn dagger last for 4,8 seconds.
Let say u have that on a knife assa, and ur venom damage is 3000.
3000/0,4=7500 dps
7500 * (4,8+0,4) = 14175 without thinking of a single psn % bonus.
If we casted venom with Grief from cube on psn nec with a 18 second combined psn duration, and then was wearing bramble + trangs and jmod with 4 facets:
(315*1,95)/0,4*18*1,95 = 53k dmg boost from venom alone.
Due to 95% bonus when casting venom, then 95% bonus when hitting with venom.
Now add on the poison damage in psn dagger and bonuses from % psn gear and syntenergies.
Then add on -100plr in hell, and you have -30 enemy psn res + the negative from lr + facet in helm if u want.
This also affect the same ammount in Plr to help vs Plr stack.

Just thinking, does that build stack? I mean if you use prayer cure insight merc, and have plague (with meditate/prayer on switch) as well, do you get 4-5 times the heal? or only the highest aura will apply?

You should check out my "Partydin" build for PVE. Its absolutely insane and keeps the entire party alive while also being able to deal damage as a support character. Its expencive but good lord is it a powerhouse.
I made a support pally before. Maxed prayer, vigor, salv, holy bolt, and cleansing. Insight on switch, cta scepter main hand with pally spirit.

before respecing as hammerdin for pvp, Balrog used a prayer/foh/holybolt/convict spec for leveling.
every team loved him, and never died in pvm once the plague was on him.
the rep is amazing, and foh is very strong for pvm currently.
could heal with cleanse+medi, but usually on convict main for teammates to melt everything.
Reminds me of the old hybrid pop zons from back pre 1.10 with stacking poison charms.

You should try barb with 2 deathweb, dream barb helm and 37x 451. 15% -15 psn rbf in barb helm with 3 bo 3 ww is nice too + widowmaker. My favourite Bm Build ^^

Max Prayer hammerdins running around with Meditation is very common in Asia and it's considered GM as well and allowed in lots or tournaments here
for team play it be bm as heck......heal pally sit town while a es sorc rip mega-regen XD..258 replenish life + over the top mana regen(1350%..or 1025% if the pally is build to also fight on its own)...maxroll code to view 1001065h.....smite//charge seemed the best option to make it versatile.....spirit+bk ring vs caster....exile+ravenfrost vs melee......also the might aura is equate to 30% ED gain, while fana is 17%...might would be use with charge to fight casters, meanwhile meditation would be use for super regen vs melee...other alternatives to consider in this template....cutting out trang gloves//bk rings to net more resists...or even the seraph amulet
err forgot to be precise..i said 30% for might cause Charge also gain 20% from synergy and that make a more important difference vs casters, while in melee fight you should not be getting much while shredding opponents

The reason venom "glitches" your poison damage is because it makes your poison apply over venoms very short duration. All your 451 charms are now basically 30 damage charms.
This is correct ^ however you can also use this the other way around with venom applying 20+ times its damage on an assa with poison dagger charges (can hit up to 130k poison dagger on a sin)

In PVE you can make the paladin immortal with plague and the correct iDR and mDR gear.
Venom changes the poison duration to 10 frames, so the 1k damage should be something like 2.5k/sec if you keep firing. In theory all the other sources are stacked on top of venom but hey.
How does this build work in PVM and where is the build guide?
wait, basically you can play a struck build with poison nova + 1 piece of aura = slowly kill + 1 tick last hit. That's brilliance!

451 psn dmg in 12sec = 15 psn dmg in 0.4sec (truncated duration)
This is why your psn dmg is decreased with venom. Venom is actually only good if you can extend your poison duration with another skill such as poison dagger or poison javelin.
Very good point. Max did this once in LoD and it 1-lifed people in a split second.

Venom is good only if you striking a lot in a second. For example for PvM bowazon, or dragon talon assassin.

If I recall correct, there's no bug with Venom. First all poison damage that you have is added and calculated by a formula to determine the poison damage per tick and the length of a poison. Don't quite remember the frames count, but poison tiks 2 or 3 times per second. Venom adds it's damage to these calculations, but reduces poison length to venom's 0.4 seconds. And it means that instead of dealing 2 ticks per second for say 12 seconds of poison damage, you end just dealing a damage of single tick of this poison.
I dunno why people complain. He's using the mechanics of the game to help him win. It is nice when new stuff is created and you don't have everyone with the same builds.

Hey bro I had an idea for a hybrid zon cubed cta with 6 shaeled bow and then standard java zon wep/shield on swop. Essentially a java zon but only torch anni and the rest psn scs with trangs gloves? Obviously items for this build may very but it was a build I attempted when I was 14 maybe younger and I never had the wealth to pull it off alas I'm 33 now. Obviously would only need 1 hard point into guided arrow your just using the arrows for psn procs.
I preemptively like your videos, because I know quality when I see it consistently enough. Like here.

Hey I don't wanna be "that guy" but I AM subscribed and that like button has been DEMOLISHED! GG on this build and honestly I'd like to see attempts to push it even further into the realm of broken af in team duels, pair this up with a tanky windy druid and a ww sin and it is going to get NARSTY!!! I haven't seen much in the way of 3v3 teams and the like so I think it's definitely interesting to see what all it could pair up with nicely.

Each different psn damage over time has an actual different affect due to the timing of applied ie if u p danger than nova the nova over rights the p danger duration changing the damage ps. I cant remember the formula but there a way to do it right and a way to do it wrong. Similar to the order of putting in damage jewel's on a lld.

Poison small charm damage is different from SKILLS that do poison damage. Trang bonus increases poison SKILL damage.
