Very interesting build! I've gambled +3 Cold/25DR Circlet some time ago, punched 2 sockets in it and plan to make a Cold version someday. I've even grabbed some items for it, like decent Gerke, Viper, charms (mix of skillers and +mana). The suggested amulet looks like unobtanium for me though.
I think the amulet is easier to get than the circlet, you'll probably get it for free just gambling amulets to use for crafting one day. Both are pretty unobtanium though

This build on P1 difficulty with even mid range gear is awesome. I can be poisoned at 1 health, amp damage curse on me, surrounded by enemies, and it doesn't matter. The only thing that can really kill me is magic dmg type, but I no longer care about curses, poison, or resistances. Feels so amazing to be this tanky! As long as I have mana, basically cannot die. (more or less)

Great guide! Unfortunately I am the kinda guy who respecs into ES, forgets to actually cast ES and then gets one-tapped by a fallen. 😂

This immo sorc is kinda perfect for tankie. But when poison drain your hp to 1 point. If the monster hit you by the poison dmg, you will instant die. For example I found out so far monster can deal poison dmg so far: horror mage (act5 baal way), guardian (act5 hall of pain)
For PvM, if you're not going for a maxed out version of this build, don't underestimate Dwarf Star. 40 life, 15 Fire Absorb,15 MDR and ofc that sweet 100% GF. Nice for Travi/Chaos at least. On a side note, try Flamebellow with high Fire Absorb for the merc if you run Travi. If you're really struggling with the incoming Fire Damage, use Infernostrides on your character as well.
I'm running Sorc and Trav is the worst place for me and the follower. I'll try these tips thank you.
40 life - useless on ES sorc
15 Fire Absorb - doesn't give you mana back and you should not take life damage anyway
15 MDR - good
100% GF - meh, you can't compete with a horking barb anyway, not even close

Seriously though, your videos are quite noticeably a cut above any of the other Diablo channels that I typically come across. They are clearly more thought out, better planned, most definitely more accurate, and the editing is clean and tight. Just like... it should be.

7:34 if you don't have "heart of the oak" you can use suicidal branch, wizadspike, even spectral shard but hoto is better.
I feel like the melee version of this would be substantially different, obviously not just the use of the passion runeword,

i am a bit confused about the pvp blizz build, in the maxroll you have different options for armor vipermage or gald bane, which one should i use ?

Great video as usual. In fact I use an almost identical build in pvm at the moment. 2 different things for my part :
- with the build without the vipermagi, you have only 60fc, it's a bit short. I choose to use a crafted caster amulet +2@ or +2 lightning (you will get automatically the fc you need and mana + mana regen). If possible you seek the DMR/DR in add. If you find a great circlet it work too.
- Idem for the boots, I take a crafted safety boot, you get DMR/DR, you can seek what you want to add
I will test the nova build on my SSF single player sorc, if i should find the needed items :)
You don’t need resist on this build btw. Mdr/pdr is applied before resistance so the resistance does not make a change to surviving with 1 life or not
If you cant go below the 1 hp except in a few cases why do you then need max Block?
@Cooley, how does it do on travinical? You mentioned fire can melt this sorc but I assume with MDR it's immune to hydras and DR -> immune to council melee. I'm wondering if it's possible to create a gold find sorc, instead of the barb. So this sorc would be tanking (lol) and merc would do most of the killing.
Sorc can't hork. Not worth it.
Hi. How much nova damage you make? I have a 5.5k dmg and it feels slow in higher player count compared to my jav zone.
Which immortal sorc is better? Nova or Frozen orb variant?
Ya I made a immortal nova sorceress with Silkweave boots tho, and a crafters amulet 2 lighting skills , rejuvenate mana 6% , 17 to str and mana 8% damage taken goes to mana and poison res 20% could not have gotten a better roll on it in my opinion so I have to use it lol ..got one soj and one Manald heal ring and string of ears for the belt , helms a low rolled griffens eye not the best for build but helps the lighting damage socketed with a mal as well . And everything else is same stuff your rocking. She does die here and there but it is very rare. She is a tank for sure .

GG coooly I personally prefer the ord sorc for immortal with a guardian angel armor to help vs those pesky ele dmg builds and with max block
Energy shield doesn't benefit from resists.

Why not 1 point in frozen armor for the defense and slow attacker?
what other shield can you put if I don't have the Gerke's Sanctuary shield yet.
How do you tank normal Poison damage(not rabies) - poison doesn't go thru ES as I know, or there is something I'm missing ?
Could you please explain, cuz my other sorc get rekt by Assassin with venom/shadow/shurineins - rely on poison heavy as my mana stays almost full, but HP says "goodbye".
Anyone know any substitutes for these unobtanium items like the amulet and circlet?
I built a few of these on legacy. I was pretty successful with an immortal/melee sorc. Pump warmth/enchant/fire mastery(plus es, telekinesis, light mastry etc...), use Nightsmoke, Nats armor, dream helm, passion pb, Civerb's Icon set item (40% mana regen). Single target melee toons are kinda lame, but she does 24k-ish zeal dmg
Played and clocked back wen it first came out. Got enigma etc. Stopped playing as the stash was just to small for me to deal with. I was collecting everything. Game seems to be still pumping along

Unfortunately not. The stash is twice as big as back then in D2 but: You get 3 shared stashes and each char has 1 solo stash.
why hoto over eschutas for PVM nova and PVP firewall? is it just the 15% mana increase? bc i thought res was irrelevant for this build. what am i missing?
lets say I want to farm Nith for dkey early ladder on a Firewall/ES tanky sorc, do I need more PDR or MDR ?
I go hybrid with all in Vita and FrostBurn with Maxblock on a Gerke or Messer (wondering if I should go MAL or SOL in socket for purely Nith farming) (no anture peace, but I stya in a corner and only kill ennemy far away for no corpse epxlosion)
also any other gear suggestion for chepa ladder start gear for this strategy?
uusally go : Smoke, Lore, Spirit Sword, Mosser/Gerke, Frostburn, resists/life/mana for ring, ammy, belt and boot

Thinking about respecing my dual dream ladder sorc. If I use demon limb I can forget about enchant and beef up my ES. But is it worth it in dual dream with lightning sunder? Hmm...

Gladiators Bane is such a fun, under utilized armor. No, you don't get teleport, no you don't get plus skills. What you do get though... 🤘

2 questions: i notice mana consumed per damage is 75% at lvl 42 telekinesis
Isnt it at 75% at lvl 20 too? So wasting 20 skill point?
And 2nd question, is it a good idea to play this on HC or you do die there and there to some specefic scenario?
It's 95% at that lvl. Def worth it and imperative for the build.

when trying to build an immortal sorc, do you start from lvl 1 or do you add points into vita and other skills only to respec later on ?
dedicated ES sorc isnt great when you dont have gear to accomodate it (or the skill points). this is definitely a respec build. definitely dont build as immortal from level 1.
I ran that firewall build back in the day and people in pubs always thought I was cheating hahaha
How come it's not BM to use mana pots with an ES sorc? I still have a hard time understanding which game mechanics are BM and which ones aren't.
So what if i use Griffon and cresent Moon. Maybe Treks for boots for Poison res?

Lovely! Is there a reliable build for ES / ENCHANT sorceress? I kinda gravitate around the idea of super tanky melee sorc. Like "I'm a tanky bich that's gonna kick your butt with my melee weapon" 😂

I'm strictly a zon player, but I wanted to make some of my buff chars viable for fun. I've been working on a bowasorc on legacy with similar concepts. But because she doesn't really need many +sorc skills when fighting, I went with Wizard Spike and swappable String of Ears ( let me know what you think of this change ) instead. I have 120 mana 75 PLR and 120/25PDR amulet for swap. This sorc also doubles down as my max enchant sorc ( with swapping ) for buffing my zons against bmers which is her primary role. 95% ES, 65IAS BP 63FCR and 60FHR BPs, 175PLR capable with my 50% PLR circ. Gbane of course. Also 3 slots are taken up by 15ias/15@ sadly. Opinions? :)

Yes. Because that curse actually uses your life... When you get too low, she'll just say "Not Enough Mana"... Even though she has 5k
Why not run crescent moon for the mdr and -35% lightning ress? should definently beat hoto since allress is A waste of time on A es sorc?
My heart would give out if my char was roaming the world with an empty globe since I play on HC.
ES orb immortal sorc with 37x bmanas, some prebuff bo barb, and town aura paladin for the cherry on top to be a true troll in pubs.
i saw a light one back in the day that wore a infinty and did this the person was on non-lad east was named dk-maria i think she had a build that had like 11k mana with barbs bo i think it was 14k mana. this person almost never died.

I'm mostly a filthy casual at d2r but am dipping my feet in actual end game better gear and found my first SOJ ever yesterday, but I was wondering..... Could you not just supplement in % damage taken goes to mana also instead of damage reduced numbers to achieve the same/similar effect?

what if you use ith to add damage taken goes to mana or another item? does that stack with energy shield?
That effect works to replenish your mana when you take health damage (you can read its effect as "% of health damage taken becomes mana"). It's something you would use on a Barbarian because you have a lot of health and very little mana. On an energy shield sorc it's the exact opposite, so it's not really going to help you.
The aim of the build is to make zero damage go to life, so it wouldn't work (as it works with damage going to life, not damage going to ES).
Could you use stormshield instead of gerkes?
You could but SS does not have plain MDR/PDR which is actually the core mechanic of the build. SS has physical resistance in percentage, and hence will not provide full mitigation of damage that goes to your life orb, which is generally bad when you have under 500 life and run around with 1 life left after taking some poison damage.
'sides, SS has less block than Gerke's, which is best in slot and is so much easier to find.
