@@spiralbones omg i didnt know this was a movie. Thx man
Alright alright alright here's your pound of flesh!
@@spiralbones omg an actor pretending?
Who Warren Moon. 🌚
This movie I’ve not seen. But I imagine it is amazing.
Cool how he says pound instead of some amount of grams. The character comes from America so this makes total sense. Little details like these are why this film is so good.
pounds was used as measurement unit in uk before eurofication, pound is also the UK equivalent of USD. So saying penny short or gram shy of pound is play on both the weight unit and the money.
William Shakespeare's play The Merchant of Venice, in which the moneylender Shylock demands a pound of flesh from the merchant
At first I was like “dang man you’re taking this whole thing a little far for not getting emotional” and then I heard the part about his wife, and I was like “oh Frick, this guys getting off easy.“
Spoiler alert: he does not get off easy.
That wasn’t her blood in that shot just to be clear, the editing was deceptive
the cut to her isn’t showing her dead, it’s the blood from her rapist
@@TheClassicalKids thats how the film was edited
@@lb2kxx pretty sure that was spliced together by the creator of this video. But either way, if you haven’t seen the movie, it looks like she’s laying there dying rather than just getting rescued from an attempted rape.. like my mans first39 said, oh frick that guys getting off easy
One of the best performance by Matthew - absolutele class
underrated film - and AMAZING netflix show

"I want a pound of flesh" -The fucking Lion
Since no one else has said it - these lines are actually from The Merchant of Venice by William Shakespeare. Shylock, the og villian that gave this proposition was eventually bamboozled and lost everything. This included his religion, his business, and his daughter.
Is he a villain though? Antonio had insulted and assaulted him, and also Shylocks daughter converting to Christianity also stole her fathers riches.
@@danepher I think the Subtle point of Shakespeare's play wasn't 'lol, Jew' - It was that they're _all_ assholes and revenge fucks over everybody.

We know. Everyone knows where pound of flesh is from. But not a single drop of blood
@@jeffkerr807you assume far too much, especially for the younger generations. While many ma have heard the reference, I would bet the majority who have don’t know what the reference is from. You’re also not accounting for the global population.
One of my favorite movies. The Gentlemen is soo awesome. Everyone in it brought the fire.
This movie was outstanding, how did I miss this movie. Already in my top 50, and I own over 750 DVDs, old school baby.
Cool iam glad to hear that iam not alone in buying movie's iam about 3000 deep still collecting and this was another awesome movie by GUY RITCHIE
@@johnabbey5427 Oh yes, I still buy occasionally if I find one that I can't live without, especially in anime when it is harder to find it streaming, but with all the streaming it gets harder to purchase because I am out of space
nobody gives a shit how many dvds you own lmfao
As a rule I watch anything by Guy Ritchie, especially if it's a gangster film. He hits more than misses, and most of his films are listed in my top favs. If you haven't already, I recommend Wrath of Man with Jason Statham. It came out during the height of covid lock downs and didn't get the promotion and viewings it should. Excellent film.
Now this Man knows how to portray Strength, Iron Will, and Utter Ruthlessness. My respect to Matthew McConaughey.
Matthew is such a legend ✊🏻
If he isn't a legend now, he will be!
Such a great movie! Guy Ritchie never disappoints!
I've watched this movie 4-5 times, every time I go to look for something to watch it comes up,why not.
I was just wondering what to watch
That is how I feel with most of Guy's films. Love it.
I think I wanna buy a Lincoln now
Mathew, "Mathew!! "Good to see you!, "you're one of my favorite Actors, "you are appreciated, "God's Speed!!
Matthew is a Excellent actor exceptional instruments. He is a true Christian follower and he takes up his cross daily. Praise God that we have someone who stands for God and does not Compromise and stand on God. All glory and praise to the heist two hours soon coming king questions as our Lord amen
I love this so much… the first “my wife” was classic, the second, cinematically epic!
