    I totally disagree with the previous comment - your instructions were very clear and precise and I liked that you gave options of how to use the different rulers. The fabric colours are hardly rocket science to follow, but extremely effective nonetheless, so do not be discouraged by adverse comments. Most of us really appreciate your time and effort in giving us your ideas and skills and I, for one, like your style! I tend to work in much the same way as you, using fabrics in whatever pleasing way I can in an improv manner and the quilt was amazing. Well done indeed☺️😊

    This was very clearly explained. Once upon a time I made a small quilt using Missouri Star's "Rhombus" template, with a similar design, but the blocks are not hollow on that one. The pattern called for assembling the blocks in columns which was a new concept for me, but it turned out pretty nice. The big blocks on your quilt really make a statement, so I think I'd like to try it.

    • @bitspiecesquilting
      @bitspiecesquilting  Год назад

      Hi Beth - good to hear from you. I haven't tried the rhombus shape before - I'll have to take a look. I hope you will give this one a try. Columns, rather than rows, is a bit of a leap, but once you get started, it makes sense. Hope all is well with you.

    I just found your channel. Love the giant hollow cube. I made it for a new granddaughter. It was so fun to make. Would have been easier if you had given the width of the background strip but I got it close enough and it turned out beautiful but not quite flat. I'll email you a picture, I'm so proud of it. Thanks.

      Thank-you so much for sending the photo of your quilt! It looks great! I love the border you added - it looks like a ribbon around the blocks. And the background is a great colour. I double checked the pattern and the width of the background strip is in the cutting directions - 9 3/8. I'm glad you were able to make it work - it really is beautiful!

It talks about two different pattern options (Square Dance and Stars on Parade - both on my website). There is also the table runner pattern called The Bonus Project (ruclips.net/video/BPSU2oF7v-A/видео.html). I hope you will check them out!

    This is a very nice block! Since we're looking for a new great-grandchild before the end of the year, think this will be very nice for him/her (gender not known). The only problem I see in making this quilt is laying it out on the floor; I'm too old & stiff to get up & down. Thanks for very nice tutorial.

    • @bitspiecesquilting
      @bitspiecesquilting  Год назад +1

      Hi Joy - thanks for your note, and congratulations on the great-grandchild! Hopefully the pattern instructions are clear enough that you don't have to lay it out on the floor - I was just using the floor as my "design wall" while designing the quilt. Best wishes!

    This is beautiful! ❤ if you ever start feeling that it’s hard to hold your long ruler without slipping, my husband bought me a clamp that works perfect and it’s not so much pressure on my shoulder and hand to press down on the ruler.

    I'm trying to make this quilt but I've run into some issues... I got the blocks done just fine. Now I'm onto the borders and you say in the written part to sew them together in columns but nothing lines up and I feel like I messed up somewhere between the video and written parts. Don't know if you can help, but I would appreciate any input.
    I am going to leave my comment up and also add that I've figured it out. I had sewn the blocks together, therefore no columns! I will separate the blocks in the middle and then be able to sew columns, I hope.
