This was one of the more respectable horror movies that I've seen recently. Definitely not a waste of time.

Loving the comments here. Psst, hey dumbasses, this is directed by Mike Flanagan. The guy who did Oculus, Hush, and is a contender for the new Halloween. He makes great movies. I know, it's weird that such a crappy movie as Ouija is getting a sequel, and it's even weirder that the sequel has a talented director at the helm, but maybe that talented director is a pretty good reason not to just dump all over this. And yes, this trailer does the ol' jump scare thing, but that's how Hollywood edits trailers for horror movies.
Michael Bay was a talented director and look how he drove a franchise into the ground. I get your point though. I love Oculus and Hush, but this just doesn't look good at all.
Wes Craven also made great/shitty films. Fact remains it looks like shit. And Hush sucked way too drawn out should have been a 45min short film.
Austin Green No, he really wasn't. Bay was always a hack. Even the one decent movie to his name is quite stupid. I have faith that Flanagan will deliver with this. I wasn't wowed by the Conjuring 2 trailers either but the film turned out great. I expect the same to be the case here.
Wes Craven gets put on a pedestal a lot but if we're being honest with ourselves, creating Freddy was the high point of his career. Otherwise he was rather middling at best. As for Hush, sorry, pretty sure that movie's brilliant.
CapNCorn The Rock was good. I enjoyed Bad Boys 1&2, Pain & Gain was decent, and I enjoyed 13 Hours. But Transformers are some of the worst movies of the past 10 years. Personally, I was wowed by TC2 trailers and I liked it a bit more than the first one (although The Nun spinoff movie their thinking about sounds like a bad idea). Like I said in a different comment, I'll see this one, but not in theaters. The first one was god-awful, but I had some fun with it. I also expect to have some fun with this one.

I was very pleasantly surprised by this movie. From the trailer I honestly thought it looked really stupid but I watched this a few nights ago and it was really good and scary! Loved it! I would recommend it!
That is exactly what I thought too, a _funny_ horror movie, based on the advertising boards. But the movie is _really_ disturbing.

I love a good horror, my wife doesn't. We watched it together and let's just say she didn't sleep properly sleep for 3 nights. Absolutely terrifying guys. Very well made. Yes it's your typical horror set up with a young family with a member getting possessed but it's so good

I loved Hush and Occulus........... However the very end of that trailer scared me for the wrong reasons (like the image of the girl and the demons inside the ouija thingy and the cheap 3d title zooming inside the frame). Overall it looked like it could be very promising... but I can't shake the feeling of 'gimmicky-ness'. Like cheap cash-grab horror blockbuster :S
Actually this is the prequel to Ouija, as it has origin in the name and takes place in 1965. But your right this does look a lot better than the 2014 film.

I must say, this is one of the best thrillers I have ever watched. If you have not seen it, watch it. You will not be disappointed. One of the best horror movies imo next to the exorcist.

This was a horror film i thoroughly enjoyed. It wasn’t scary in the sense of nightmares, but a good little jump scare here and there. Has comedy, which lightens the load of the potential of how scary this movie would be. At least for me, it was a good giggle film but enough terror.

I watch a lot of horror movies and it's hard to find descent ones nowadays. Overall this is a good movie. The acting and production are spot on. Is it super scary? No. but it's well done and kept me interested the whole time. With it being a time period, they were able to take an old idea and make it seem fresh. I recommend it!
