My thoughts on the new Parfums De Marly Oriana Fragrance. Have you tried it yet? It smells delicious but there are some minor things that I would have preferred it featured. Blind buy for me and an absolute love! No performance issues here 💗. It isn’t beast mode no, but it lasts on my skin for hours and on clothing it lasts until the garment is washed. I throughly enjoy wearing it and I get compliments. I find it quite different to LDBS and I’m happy to have both (although I prefer LDBS extreme to the OG LDBS).
This is what i get from it also… I applied 6am this morning it is now 8pm still on me… Oriano lasts longer than valaya or delina on me
I think Oriana is just a teaser, it looks like they are waiting for the Oriana Exclusif.💥💥
Also, I don't think being "beast mode" is always a must.
I prefer having a scent close to my skin because to me, it is something private/personal. I love long-lasting, close-to-the-skin fragrances...
If it is too loud, it becomes too much for me, and for others.
I don't want to look like I am seeking attention, so being too loud is not a plus, in my opinion.
I completely agree!!!! My personal smell is just that, personal!! If you smell me, I prefer it to be because I invited you into my personal space, not because I just entered the room.
Noo ..I disagree only bc perfumes are expensive. Just spray less. I'd much rather have something perform beastly and just spray less. Bc its expensive. I find alot of people that complain that something is too loud its bc they spray too much. Perfumes are too expensive and prices are rising. So I expect that performance. ..just spray less..

@bosnian ball I ordered the discovery set as well and I’m not too impressed. They smell nice enough, but they’re pretty in a generic kind of way.

I got compliments when I wore this even after being outside in the sun and having worn it for like 6 hours. This perfume wears on me very well and I’m grateful because this is the most expensive perfume I’ve ever owned lol
I have had this for about two weeks and I am absolutely in love with it! To me, it’s like a cross between the bright citrus of Byredo Sundazed and the sweetness of Kilian Love Don’t Shy, but more creamy, plus a muskiness that is distinctly Parfums De Marly. I personally get pretty good performance, or at least better than what others seem to be experiencing, but I am someone that appreciates fragrances that aren’t too loud and is satisfied with 5-6 hours of wear.

So glad you said this. I’ve just ordered it. All my old favourite perfumes seem to have changed ingredients and are more fresh. I’m dying to get a sensual, lingering musk! Can’t wait to get it!
I wondered that, if it’s performance is in line with designer fragrances that would be considered “moderate projection and lasts still projects at 4 hrs” because that’s about where I’m comfortable. I don’t need beast mode or lasts 12 hrs, but I feel everyone will expect that after Delina.
@@just.jaimie. It definitely seems that the direct comparisons between Oriana and Delina (or even LDBS) are swaying people’s opinions about the performance. In the context of perfumes in general, I think a lot more people would rate Oriana as moderate or even good performance.
I love the smell of Oriana. But you’re right, the performance is pretty weak. So I will spray the heck out of it at least every two hours. At that rate, it may actually be a fragrance where I will empty the bottle. Would I buy it again? I don’t know. I’m getting kind of tired of spending a lot of money on fragrances that don’t perform well.

I did a random blind buy with this and absolutely love it. For me it is long lasting, although I prefer my fragrance to be more intimately noticed. The dry down is a subtle sweet marshmallow and I love it, excited to wear for fall.

I’m new to the fragrance community so I never got to try the original LDBS, and even though I absolutely adore LDBS (it’s my favorite scent) it always leaves me wanting! Like every time I wear it. It’s my favorite fragrance but I never seem to be able to get enough, and I end up dousing myself with the Be Layered and Dossiers versions to help out.
I’m definitely getting PDM Oriana. Im sure I’ll like it, and I’ll be thrilled if it has even a TAD more silage than you-know-who.
Also, have you tried the new Kilian Princess in the 50 ml square bottle yet? Some people say it hasn’t changed, others swear it did. I decided to play it safe (since it’s new to me) and overpaid for the original 100 ml on Mercari. What the heck, it’ll last me forever

Instant purchase as soon as I read the notes. They had me at the bottle. Adore orange blossom, so it is a beautiful fragrance to me.

I was distinctly underwhelmed when I first sprayed it. But that wonderful dry down. What a twist! I couldn't stop smelling my arm, it's oddly moreish. Still not something I'd buy a full bottle of, but I'm glad I didn't write it off entirely so prematurely. I'm currently having a wild love affair with Ella K (the fragrance house, not my local barista) 😉so something would have to be really special to distract and wow me. Oriana is not that proposition but a really charming fragrance once you see the entire 'play' through. Thank you for this video, always love to hear your thoughts and learn from you.
I know it's important to be up-to-date, but I think it is still relevant to review regardless of being in time. I only just started my niche parfums journey, so to me all these parfums are new, and I do want to see reviews on what I might buy. I would suggest to keep reviewing for archieving purposes. Perdizione by Nobile 1942 is also said to be a Love Don't Be Shy alternative which to my nose performs really well.

I have a decant of this one and I absolutely love it! I don't like Delina at all. Or Esclusif, but Oriana and Cassili, those are my jam!

I remember the gorgeous Katie Pukrick saying that sweet scent molecules are smaller and lighter than other scent molecules and they float away faster than most other scents. It makes sense to me, as I’m yet to find a sweet frag that has lasting power.

The dish you are describing sounds close to a creamsicle we ate as kids, its vanilla ice cream surrounded in orange sherbet and creamsicle was exactly what I got on first whiff. Your description of this is 100% on point.

Thank you for the review. I may buy this fragrance closer to spring but I'm not that excited due to the consistent review of the not so great fragrance strength. I have Love Don't be Shy, is there even a need for Oriana?? Which one smells better and which one lasts longer on the skin??
I bought it. I almost exclusively wear Gourmands, but this was a fun fragrance to add to my collection that is different than my typical.
I agree it is a fun fragrance and I really like it.

I have Oriana and on my dry skin, it lasts 12+ hours. It is beast mode on me. I enjoy the fragrance, but it isn’t something I will wear too often, nor do I feel I will repurchase.
I still wish I could get a black bottle of Love don’t be shy. I have two of the white bottles because I love the scent so much but I wish I could experience the black bottle. I think I’ll wait for a dupe house to create their version of Oriana
Oriana is perfect for me. I love it. Classy, soft yet mildly vibrant, beautiful, joyful, bright, pleasant, inviting(positive way), FEMININE and so forth.
It is not irritating to my nostrils. unlike, Delina which is a thumbs down for me.
Sebastián, I can relate to your issues with your Oriana delivery! I am going crazy with the damn post office in NJ. They have 2 fragrance packages of mine since Sept 24 with no movement and the worst part is that the brands themselves are not helping even though they could easily claim insurances to recoup the cost of lost products. These are companies I have brought full bottles from 8 times in the last year with zero issues.

I wanted to really love this one but it's weak on me. I think this is better suited for warm days. I bling bought it and now will have to wait til spring to pull it out and wear it.
I agree. Oriana is very week for the price tag. It smells good but I prefer Love Don’t be Shy.

It lasts all day on clothes on me, and i get wisps of it hours after spraying it. It reminds me og Z&V Girls can do anything, but more sophisticated and descrete

I’ve read some comments of people saying it’s overly sweet … I still haven’t try it but it seems from the notes they mixed a lot of sweet ingredients like in cake 🍰 and I don’t like too sweet fragrance.

Ansaam Gold from Lataffa is a really nice copy of Oriana, but it lasts. Not middle eastern at all, soft yet lasting🥰❤️.
I don’t like the opening of this fragrance. It smells sweet, but sweet in a distinct way. Not overwhelming or overly fruity. I expected more intensity as well. It’s not bad, but it’s not my favorite. Thanks for this review. New subscriber

The opening is very similar to ASQ white incense, however with white incense that beautiful opening last very long unlike Oriana.
I own white incense and I am confident to say it is much better and cheaper that Oriana.
On my skin, I get more Byron’s The Chronic from Oriana. But yes it does smell like LDBS
I love Oriana , i find very similar with 540 but stronger
I tried it from a sample I bought. It had weak sillage and weak projection unfortunately.
I definitely prefer this one to my love.. I absolutely have to overspray though 🤦♀️
If you tired it in the last 2 weeks, when it’s very dry, in California, I wonder if it will smell differently when it’s more humid? I have some perfumes I retire in the fall, because of the dryness, wind, and dried foliage cause too much competition. I wear my spicer perfumes at this time. An update would be great. 😊 I miss the old Love as well. Strangely, it wasn’t as sweet on me and had a bit of a more resinous dry down. I’m also looking for an alternative. I need a sample of Sintra!

I had high hopes for this but it's real weak. Why do these companies that release fragrance that cost so much money keep releasing weak juice?
I also don't get it.. I tried so many niche fragrances today and after 20 min they became like shower gel, soapy smell.
Ok I got my sample. It's nice I like it. The performance/longevity is lacking on me though so I won't be investing in a large bottle.
?. How do you get fragrances from overseas? I’m trying to get one from the United Kingdom for the past couple years they tell me they can’t ship to Canada
Like you, I love the notes in this one. I did have a chance to get my nose on it it smells very good. However, performance is important to me. Not willing to purchase something at this price point that offers poor performance.

Hi Sebastian, I have the full collection of perfumes the Marly but this one is definitely not coming home. The most I sample it the most I dislike it. The marshmallow is not welcome in my nose. 😩😩
I have not tried any of these, looks like three more to add to my sample wish list.

Chantilly cream is just sweetened whipped cream, with vanilla and sugar :-) that’s their big secret!
I don´t find LDBS to be weak. I tested it yesterday and it projected like crazy and also lasted until the next morning. :)

Have you tried “Istanbul” by Unique’e Luxury? It smells exactly like “Love Don’t Be Shy” with strong projection and longevity. I could also say the same about Fellah Paris - Velvet III (this one has an added coconut note that’s not available on LDBS).
I just smelled from a sample. Maybe a bottle soon! :)

Istanbul is almost exactly the same, I agree. I noticed more intensity in istanbul. There are some rumors running around that it was also reformulated. Old juice was red, now its pale. Perfumer, Jorge Lee though. 😉

Haha mine still isn’t with me yet, I ordered it from selfridges when it was first released and it arrived in Australia pretty quickly but has now been lost in the post twice and passed through different carriers 🙄
I hear quite a few people such as yourself say that Love is weak now, I have never smelt the original bottle however I have a lot of problems with a lot of fragrances projecting and lasting on myself but my white bottle of Love is one of my most intense and longest lasting fragrances 🤷🏼♀️ My bottle of Sintra is probably slightly weaker than Love to me. It’s funny how things work differently on different people!

how does Oriana compare to angel nova? to me they sound similar
On my skin, this smells very similar to LDBS just a bit fresher. However the performance was very disappointing for the price. I can barely smell it after about an hour. I thought maybe I was going noseblind, but I asked my husband and he could also not smell it at all. LDBS (new formulation) lasts longer and projects better than Oriana on my skin.

The smell stays to me. It smells the same way straight out the bottle. When I wear Killian’s “Love…” the smell is different once it dries on me.
