Has anybody else smelled real orange blossom and gardenia? They smell freaking fantastic. Real Gardenia flower has a butonic (buttery) smell to it which was so unexpected and beautiful.

Our last house had gardenia bushes. They are creamy, rich and heady.

I’m crying my eye balls out. I bought my first bottle from Paris years ago. It was red color nectar. I used it for special occasions. It was a hidden gem until Rihanna thing popped out and it was everywhere. I ordered a second bottle and it was a piece of shit! Sorry my lingo that’s how upset and heart broken I am. I feel like to accommodate the demand they just watered down the formula. This is bad bad. The people who love it now, maybe never experienced the original old formula. I am going to order your recommendations because it left a gap my heart. I need to fill that gap.
I wish kilian kept the old formula, it’s definitely much lighter now and doesn’t last long .
As far as the color, I did notice that the color gets darker with time…

Great video I have compared the new versions of both LDBS and the Extreme. Personally I like Extreme better. It last longer on my skin and the rose comes through more.

One of my favourites also. I have many bottles. It does change colour but not as dark as my first one from black bottle of 12 years ago. It’s not as strong now you are right. Still love it. I spray more now as it’s weaker. I like all the versions. Even the neroli summer version which is delicious and Sundayzed by Byredo is similar to the summer kilian one 😁 …
…but maybe expose it to the light. I keep mine dark so that’s why it doesn’t turn ?? Not sure.

Anyone else notice how if you layer LDBS (or a good dupe) with Montale's Roses Musk, you pretty much get Mancera's Roses Vanille? I was so excited when I discovered that combo one day! It's like getting 3 fragrances for 2, plus the layered pair lasts better than Roses Vanille, in my experience.

Hi. I've never heard of Killian before. Nor am I familiar with niche parfum. But somehow I became aware on YT on ldbs. I became curious so a month ago I bought a sample of it. They only had the extreme version. What shall I say. Oh my gosh. I am obsessed. Since I have it, it has overshadowed all the parfums I own. The only fragrances I still use are Alien, light blue DG and For Her Narciso. I don't know the earlier version of ldbs and so I can't say if there are any differences or reformulation. But what I know is that it smells like heaven. It smells very long and strong. Extreme is more sensual cuddly and more vanilla vibes. GEORGEOUS. A dreamlike fragrance. Now i own both. Even they are incredibly expensive they are worth the money
I LOVE gourmand fragrances, but Love, Don't Be Shy just doesn't do it for me, at least on its own. On me it is very, very sweet and quite linear. I have found myself layering it so that the sweetness is toned down and it has a little more oomph and spice. May sound like a strange combo, but my favorite to layer this with is Chapel Factory Holy Stick! The incense and spice combines with the sweetness and also really amps up the sillage! Thanks for the alternatives - I really want to check out the Memo Paris Sintra!

I just tried Love don’t be shy, and the dry down is pretty delicious… Never tried it before, so I can’t compare it. Yummy though, even as it is 💕
I love everything neroli and orange blossom. I wish sintra had more florals at the dry down. Is the performance of au pays de la fleur d’oranger lasting?
There is absolutely a difference.......not near the longevity nor the sillage as before. I can’t believe some people haven’t noticed the difference in ALL fragrances, as the IFRA (International Fragrance Regulatory Agency) several years ago banned and limited the use of the main ingredients that give fragrance its longevity and projection. The industry is trying to keep this hush hush a\to continue selling their now subpar product for premium prices
I was just reorganizing my collection. You are SO RIGHT! My vintage versions are deeper, richer, more nuanced, less synthetic, better sillage (on average)

I'm not fan with kilian fragrances because I think it's not worth the money.

I just want to say LDBS has been reformulated, its not as strong or last as long as the original version so you are correct BUT I have been buying LDBS since it first came out and it always was light and then would turn blood orange, so the color of the white bottle did not give it away it was the lasting power and strength. All I can say is thank God i have a full bottle unused from the original and the large 8.4 oz .
Thank you for this video Sebastian. Borea is one of my favourite fragrances from my collection is sweet, fresh, clean and so femenine. It lasts on my skin until the next day. I also own Rouge Malachite and Ylang in Gold and they are stunning.

Haven't seen a reaction on Micheal kors for men... Man that smells amazing spicy and Woody in a way that pulls compliments out of peaples mouths it's freakin amazing. I also understand that it's been discontinued but when and if you come across it please grab it and make a review video of the fragrance because it deserves it.
I’ve never tried the original Lobe and recently purchased one from Sephora. I cannot compare but it smells like it is missing something and very very light. Interested in the original

Great video, completely agree with you. Had the older version, and also bought the white bottle. The juice is way thinner, doesn't last that long and the color is lighter. But it goes on more.. I also recently bought a refill because there was a rumor spreading from some channels that for 5 more months the existing refills are still the older version of the perfume. Completely false! The refill is even lighter than the white bottle. This perfume has become such a disappointment
I must admit that I haven't tried yet Love don't be shy; I only know Back to black, Angels' share, Black phantom, Good girl gone bad and Straight to heaven. Instead I've sampled Battito d'ali and Sintra and they weren't bad, but honestly I prefer other fragrances. Since I have all kind of trees in my garden: orange, mandarin, lemon, I know well the smell of the flowers and I really enjoy it, but it's different in perfumes and I am not a fan. I have Intense Cafe and love it, especially when it's cold outside and I also have Ylang in gold, but that one is just overly sweet for me ( I'll probably gift it to my mother ). From all the fragrances mentioned, I am curious about Hundred silent ways, so maybe I'll go to sample it.

PS. Have you heard about Morph fragrances? I got some samples today of their fragrances and they are not bad. They are a small brand and have only about 20 fragrances, but maybe you'll like to try them out.
I tested LDBS 14 years ago and was appalled. Headache inducingly sweet, sticky and cloying. Now I just bought it and love the reformulation.

What about Etat libre d oranger Divin Enfant? Its the first orange blossom marshmellow ive smelled and i think it was to first of all these released. It has an oily animalic and smoky tabacco component added. Very nice
I own the oud version, its more expensive but it is really worth it, the best from Kilian, available in the middle east

Cashmere by Chopard is a bit more unique than Ylang in Gold, I think it's mellower

ahhhh it's the video I am working on too! have a couple of others but Guimauve De Noel is very close. I got a bottle of a new Love and the color is different. It's not salmon but clear. The scent is a bit different too

I've had my new bottle of LDBS since last Summer and it's still salmon colored, haha! I don't mind the difference. I use my old bottle on colder days and the new bottle plays better on my skin on warmer days. I can see why people are upset, though!

In my opinion, Love don't be shy original smells very close to Baklawa Armenian cakes. I have a similar feeling with Reve d'Anthala by Evody. It is not the same fragrance yet it reminds me also of Syrian deserts. Thank you for your videos 😌
I recently tried Lattafa Ansaam Gold. Amazon has 20 ml samples for $9. It’s not the same as LDBS. It’s not as tart. But it is sort of along the same lines. I’ve been layering the two since Asaam has better longevity.

I know you don’t do dupes, but Zara’s Rose Marshmallow Candy and also Rose Gourmand are outstanding. I’m a government employee on a budget, and I’ve received lots of compliments on them.

@@ThePerfumeGuy Arrrgh. It’s too popular. I also enjoy my Elie Saab Le Parfum (a Francis Kurkdjian creation). Similar DNA with orange blossom and jasmine and rose, but it has honey instead of marshmallow.
I find Zara’s rose gourmand really weak, I was totally disappointed, I use it just as air freshener to be honest.

I really wanted to like Sintra but just can’t stand the green note. Have you tried Roja Reckless- I think it’s a much better version of love don’t be shy and it really close to how it smells.
