    Access Virus TI is certainly one of the best synths available. It has it’s own specific characteristics and powerful sounds. No use comparing it with Some cheap VST synths. It’s the price of silver and it sounds like gold. Thank you for this nice video. Playing means never forgetting that brilliant sound ❤️

    This was really great, this synth is deep enough to be overwhelming at first...now it seems much easier to approach.
    Much appreciated!

    This is a great intro to the Virus. The when opening Virus control the first time, the temptation is great to just go "meh!, I'll stick to the presets", but this is a great little intro to make it less daunting. (And the rustic "sounds of the 70's" voice doesn't hurt either.)

    3min in and I am already sold after hearing this saw sound. So much more pleasant in sound than the usual saw. And I was actually only considering the TI because of wavetables and multitimbrality... Lets see what the rest of the video brings

    There has been some debate around on gear forums whether there will be a TI3. The TI2 still holds up well having come out in 2009 but I was reading that the DSP chips used have been discontinued and they've been working more on the Kemper amps.
    Edit:
    "Hide your grandma, because the Virus is coming." I had to edit this because I laughed pretty good there.

    Updated: Do you experience any latency while playing parts in with the TI VST? I have this installed and working with unworkable latency for any fast attack type patches using a remote keyboard and MOTU's DP as the DAW. I've read others experiencing similar latency with more DAWs. Any fixes? Love the software VST otherwise.
    Just discovered this Virus VST and it's fantastic and a great update to my TI2. Updated firmware and Access makes this available free. Created a whole new synth. This video is very helpful.

    I was craving for this synth for years lol. Used all kind of serums to heal the infection. Now i got the thing and its just so fun to play with! Spire is very close though, like almost indistinguishable. Though only for very basic sounds, ti does alot more things.
    And it has knobs, add a drumbeat and you can play songs live. Vst control on top of that. Perfect hardware synth.
    Glad to hear you beat cancer.

      Hiya buddy, Buy yourself a top of the range u.s.b cable, designed to transmit high definition digital audio, QED are good make, also make sure the usb cable is as short as possible around 1m, using a longer cable over 1m can cause loss of performance resulting in freeze's etc etc, also get yourself a really good high speed pcie usb card for you p.c and only use it for your virus, using usb hubs on your pc with many usb cable plugged into it with the virus can cause freezes and jitters to, so purchase a top quality pcie and dedicate it to your virus, also reinstall the latest virus ti firmware, if you follow these steps your virus shouldnt have anymore problems.
      Also if you have a ti snow dont bother with the multitimbral performance if you do complicated high dsp patches, and use little effects, use vst effects instead :)

    • @willmattwood
      @willmattwood 6 лет назад +1

      There is a recent discovery which was posted in the facebook psytrance producers forum... try using a soundcard with a digital/SPDIF type output, and connecting that output to the Virus TI's input. Set the TI to slave to the soundcard's word clock, and you may find the overall stability will improve.

    I have had my keyboard TI2 for some time and got it for the manual programming abilities.
    Not having read too much of manuals, I got a bit disappointed about the keyboard version not having the extra manual pots that’s been given by the extra layout space.

    I enjoy analogue synthesis and have quite a bit of modular gear but I'm looking for something I can take to gigs easily and make emulate some of my modular patches. Can the virus do this kind of "odd" sound design? Most of the demos I see for the virus are either full of basic subtractive analogue basses or big "lush" pads. These kinds of sounds don't really interest me.
    If I am to buy a Virus TI2 desktop unit to pair with my MPC for live IDM/braindance and experimental music will I regret it?

    • @snoolee7950
      @snoolee7950 3 года назад

      what are talking about. a DAW is like a tape machine. It does not support a synth or vice versa. There are some Yamaha synths that work with Cubase, but the two companies go together. I thiink Yam owns Cubase. It is more DAW control on the keyboard. Synths and DAW's do not have anything to do with each other, except some DAWs run MIDI but that applies to any MIDI synth.

    Also not mentioned was the Atomizer function, which adds a hefty amount more versatility to it all. Also routing external audio through it is great. I run a Pulse2 through mine when I want some seriously analog oscillators, but the filter on the Pulse sounds awful, and the Virus is a great way to shape the sound of that better

    Theory: the saw has a rounded contour because Access knows how people actually use saws in synthesis and for those purposes it's better to have an OSC that's not quite as bright as a real, technical saw. At least, that has been my experience.

    Mmmm as much as I think this synth is good I got the Nord Rack2 recently and it’s pretty sweet. I’m more of an actual analog synth fan so I’d have to go full on analog if I bought another poly synth. As for your lack of interest in analog I’m surprised you don’t find it enjoyable but I don’t know what you’ve played. I had a sub phatty and that was a killer analog sound. But I got a lot of love for my 0-coast and Minibrute too.

    DeadMau5 has a virus ti desktop that he says he never uses in the studio because the sound quality is bad.
    Of course his studio is set up for atmos surround sound, so there’s that.
    He mostly produces through a single analog synth, and of course all his outboard gear.
    What’s your opinion on this?

    • @Madswiberg
      @Madswiberg 6 лет назад +4

      Tomáš Holec that’s really not an answer, is it? I am inclined to agree with the one before you, wherein they stated they have a virus, however also explain the difference between the analog and the digital virus, which, to be honest, means I will look at a nord analog, or maybe an elektron 4, and put the virus on the back burner, unless I find a good deal.

    • @NeonPLotus
      @NeonPLotus 6 лет назад +1

      SUBHUMAN .COM USA thank you, as I’ve been thinking the exact same thing. If I’m going for an external synth, I want an analog sound.
      I’m thinking the virus is more like serum, or synthmaster, with better graphics, and the ability to move processing off my Mac.
      I’ll probably look at an external analog synth, but without a keyboard (I can input midi via my nektar panorama P6 - still trying to push them to redesign that thing. Hell, I’d redesign it for them)
      I would possibly get an Arturia, or a nord, or maybe that new one made by novation. I think that’s analog. I’ll have to check. If look st a mother 32, but that’s way too coarse for me.
      I’ll think about an access virus a little further down the road.

    I owned this sucking beast for 4 years and is boring like hell ..
    Pros are using this because they have quick access to some commercial sounds that will stay good in the mix and they are in a hurry .
    So the only benefit is quick access to sounds that will sound not so great but pros don't care because they are after money and not gold sound.
    If you take the TI sound out from the mix is poor and sterile .
    You can achieve those sound with plugins with ease ..
    Trance is boring and TI is famous for this trance crap ..
    With TI the analog emulations are crap .
    For example VST "the legend" beats Virus really bad in terms of analog emulation .
    Poor sound

  • @radurobert1
    @radurobert1 5 лет назад +2

    Ridiculously overpriced. Huge money waste.
    German sound means a sound without soul .
    Virus TI is a synth with a dark synthetic sterile sound which have no soul or beauty like a Moog for example and is full of bugs !!.
    So good luck integration !.
    When I hear Virus I see dark.
    I owned this sucking beast for 4 years and is boring like hell ..
    Pros are using this because they have quick access to some commercial sounds that will stay good in the mix .
    Usually they use Ti only for some sounds so you won't feel the dark because other sounds will compliment the poor tone of TI and they use external effects to make the TI tone more rich .
    Is not worth losing the money for such synth
