How Y&T did not make it bigger will always be one of the greatest mysteries in Rock n Roll! So many bands list them as major influences on their own perspective careers.
Incredible! Dave's vocals sound like they did 40 years ago! He's outlasted most of his peers who've lost their voices. Congrats on a great performance!
I hung out with these guys backstage at the Keystone Berkeley several times in the late 70s. As I recall, they were friends with the guys in the band Mistress. The Keystone was my musical classroom in those days.
Keystone , The Stone and Ruthies was where I grew up in early Eighties! ❤ I’m from Concord, same place Y&T are from. Seen them a few times. Always a class act.
Great show Have Enjoyed Yesterday and Today from the freshman dance at Arroyo high 1973. And was there for the weeks park show. Dave is one of the best in Music !!!
Totally got me beat! Mine was me and buddy at Concord pavilion Black Tiger album with Motley Crue opening , we couldn’t wait till they got off😂 been seeing Dave and company at Petaluma lately, crazy how good they he still brings it.
@@petemaloney9783yup remember it well @ HH …they were promoting the weeks park and vets hall local shows 👍 became good friends with Leonard and Phil in 80’s R.I.P. 🎸🎸🎸
Very happy to see Dave rockin it since his cancer diagnosis several years ago. I prayed for him as I went through prostate cancer also. We are survivors and warriors!
First time seeing Y&T they opened for Alice Cooper on his Special Forces tour, Concord Pavillion, early 80's. They weren't on the bill, had no idea who they were, but became an instant fan! Then tried to catch them at every club gig from Keystone Berkeley to the Oasis Ballroom in Sacramento. Their Earthshaker lp is my favorite. Seen them on Halloween circa '83, w Mötley Crüe, and the Randy Hanson Band at the Concord Pavillion. Was at the SF Civic auditorium gig that was taped for Mtv broadcast. Twisted Sister opened. Great memories of the Best NorCal hard rock band. Meniketti shreds forever on his Les Paul, awesome frontman, vocalist, guitarist. R I P Joey, Leonard, Phil❤️🔥🤘🏻🕯
I was Dave and Stef’s tech for the “10” tour, which was unfortunately cut short when Geffen pulled tour support. Great guys, and a killer live band. Thanks for posting this!
Sounding great and looking good. The drummer is channeling Leonard and the bass player is slaying. I have been a Y and T fan for years ,and I am delighted that you (John Nyman ) have become a permanent and valuable member. Backup vocals too .Well played, Good Sir.
Remember when Y&T would rock the Concord Pavillion every Halloween? Those were the days. They still sound just like they did 25 years ago. Great job Dave.
Was at the '82ish Halloween concert! The Randy Hanson Band opened, then a young n hungry Mötley Crüe played second. I wore an 'Eddie' Iron Maiden mask, f yeah! 🤘🏻😎
@@ricklemcke-vx3rr those were fun times I still play my les paul but I have dead wrist now so I can't play for about 4 months I slept on it wrong and it sucks I've never heard of that until it happened I thought I was having a stroke they're the same symptoms but watching this and reading the comments brought a smile to my face thank you and have a great day and ROCK ON my friend
Y&T's humble beginning that Dave mention in a front room in East Oakland was Steve Sampaio's house (the very first drummer for Y&T, I believe). Steve's mom took pictures of them practicing at the house. Steve showed them to me and I thought the lead guitar player looked very familiar. Steve couldn't remember Dave's last name, but just knew he formed Y&T. Lol!!!! What an amazing band that never really got big. Not sure how that happened......
Just saw Dave in Petaluma. Awesome! At 70 years old! No lie he sounds pretty close to 1983. Unreal. I catch y and t every year if I can. They bring it, not too many others can still do it.
Damn, I remember seeing Y&T at the Keystone in Palo Alto Back in the 80's, seriously one of the best and loudest bands I've ever heard in my life, the Keystone was such a small venue and they were so loud I plugged my ears with cigarette butts, glad to see they're still going strong.
Thank you, Aiki! Loved it. I like the intimate settings. The music sounds tight and crisp. Keep posting. I like going to that location. It's a lot of fun.
Agreed @markbirchette8740, and glad I was able to capture. Had a perfect spot and glad it came out well. Wish I had the new iPhone for this but alas lol

Video recording tip
Set your EQ levels to -9/-12 this makes a better live recording and is adjustable on the listeners end
@Harleyfunman, this was done from a simple iPhone, not sure on settings for iOS.
I'm surprised a bit more isn't said about the similarities between Dave and Sammy Hagar. Definitely kindred spirits.
@mhermit that's true, good point!
