About the Game:
Lies of P is an action role-playing video game developed by Neowiz Games and Round8 Studio, and published by Neowiz Games.
Inspired by Carlo Collodi's novel The Adventures of Pinocchio, Lies of P tells the story Pinocchio, a robotic "puppet". However, unlike other puppets, Pinocchio has the capability to lie, which will play a role during important story decisions.
Puppets were invented in the city of Krat thanks to the discovery of a revolutionary power source, Ergo, underneath the city. Puppets soon became ubiquitous throughout the city, performing most of the menial labor for the populace. Foremost among the puppet inventors is the legendary Geppetto, who created Pinocchio. In order to ensure that Puppets would not be a threat, all puppets were bound to the Grand Covenant, which forbids puppets from lying or attacking humans. However, despite this, one day the puppets revolt, slaughtering most of the human population of Krat.
In addition to the puppets, Krat also suffers from the mysterious Petrification Disease which blinds its victims before fully petrifying and destorying them. There currently is no known cure to the disease.

I finally got her last night! Hardest boss in the game hands down. I beat the game this morning. I didn’t stand a chance until I was able to parry the lightning.

This is the only boss ever who's second phase cutscene I have never skipped

Bro really vibes with characters like fake Alidoro and Arlecchino the serial killer, but it’s on sight with the anti-hero poor kids who don’t know how to love. Lol
Even though she has but a scant broken tablet worth of character development, Lax is a memorable souls-like boss. Absolute punishment for the uninitiated but a great sparring partner when you are ready. She is like Genichiro Ashina in that respect.
Always something to think about when you are stressing a boss. Every time you enter a boss arena the boss has to beat you every time, but you only have to beat the boss once!
This game has been surprisingly fun! I was expecting a cheap souls knock off, but they did an amazing job IMO

No but seriously, I really like how the attacks of this boss are very reminiscent of the Nameless King, it's as violent as the Orphan, gives Malenia vibes and has similar mechanics to Genichiro. I like to think that Laxasia is like a respectful and very well done tribute to the most iconic and challenging bosses of FS so far 🔥
She is definitely one of my favorite bosses from this game 😄
Laxasia is absolutely incredible as a boss fight. I would still put Sister Friede, Ludwig, and Orphan above her in terms of quality, and Malenia abover her in terms of difficulty, but my god is she amazing. The fact a company that wasn't FromSoft created a boss that is almost as good as the best of their all-time creations is mind-boggling.

This may be my favorite Mati episode since the drunk Bloodborne one in the Forbidden Woods. 🤣 Yes it’s a bad idea to talk to an ex, dude.
OMG that drunken episode was epic and I still remember how hard I laughed throughout the whole episode.

OMG YES. He said how much he loved the quest line with Venigni, and then misses a big reveal with the king of riddles. Like you said, you gotta exhaust the dialogue until they’re repeating themselves

Fun fact: those quick upward swipes she does can be easily avoided by running to the side. This is one of the fights where perfect blocking everything is NOT the optimal choice, and you have to mix up your defensive options a lot depending on what she throws out. The Dancer's parry fable art came in clutch during her second phase, for me.
I absolutely adore this fight. As well as her character design.
Edit: My go-to weapon for her was the Dancer's curved sword handle and the curved acid greatsword blade. Killer combo.

idk in my opinion parrying everything worked wonders. Made the first phase go by in a maximum of 2 minutes. Used 2 dragons sword and the parry/heavy attack helped a lot for some of the more telegraphed attacks, which let me break her shield in 2 charged hits. For the second phase, parrying her lightning projectiles was vital, cuz it sends them back and does great damage and I used the perfect parry grindstone to learn the moves

First phase she has armor so you need to use a weapon with blunt damage to really damage her. This was the coolest boss in the game imo. Her and king of puppets are my w favorites.

It’s weird how some people struggle with certain bosses others find easy but I think most of us struggled with laxasia, she’s just an absolute menace! That attack where she hovers in the air then yeets herself at you at Mach 10 is just…..painful

Aw. Mati missed out on listening to Venigni's findings on who caused the Puppet Frenzy and Romeo's message after clearing the Relic of Trismigestus area.
Laxasia is the most stubborn boss I've ever encountered. If you stagger her she will keep attacking and refuse to go down, especially in the second phase. She will immediately shake off her staggered status if you keep attacking her after staggering her. The best thing to do is to back off.
He might still be able to get it. He didn’t kill the riddler yet

Also there are so many good games out there right now and ones you need to finish. If you did Demon Souls and sprinkled in some AC6/HK for a bit I'd be down. Spiderman might be best for the channel though and I'm not super interested in Lord's of the Fallen from what I've already seen, but I'll watch whatever 😂.

My favorite boss of the game, LAXATIVE lol lesgooo Matiiii
Hey Mati, I'm gonna give you a list of ALL the soulslikes that you should try
(I'm putting em in a random order, lol)
1. Dead Cells (one of the most fast paced games ever created)
2. Remnant 1 & 2 (Dark Souls WITH GUNS)
3. Thymesia (especially if you want another Sekiro + Bloodborne soulslike BUT EVEN MORE SEKIRO)
4. Code Vein (anime Dark Souls, lmao)
5. Mortal Shell (this one's very short, and too easy, although its still VERY COOL imo)
Bonus: Outer Wilds (this one is kinda soulslike... but this game is just an experience, the deepest gaming experience you'll ever get)
(You don't fight, you just explore, but the concept of dying all over again is present, and you just gotta unravel the world's mystery)
(Its lore is soo deep that it's often compared to the FromSoft's works)
And yeah, that's it i guess
PS. NO ITS NOT, U SHOULD ALSO PLAY GOD OF WAR 2018 & GOD OF WAR RAGNARÖK, lmaoo

I've not seen you use the normal R2 moveset with this weapon yet, if you tap R2 you hit and jump back, then tap again to go back in with another hit, a bit like the Bloodhound Fang ash of war. Also when spamming the light attack, moving left or right at the same time dodges around the enemy while you keep attacking. Feet using it's full mobility dude! 😊

Now I reached the end of the Episode. This has to be one of the best, my face hurts from grinning. Man this Fight is just the hardest of the Game. The Others are no pushovers, but this one is hard. I spent so much time on this Boss that in the end i could Rush through Phase one. Respect btw way how quick you climbed the Tower itself, you made it almost look easy. And all while skipping/missing the last shortcut. Hope you have an awesome vacation and already am hyped for the end of the Playthrough when you return.

I am playing Lords of the Fallen rn and i honestly think its great.
A bit of diamond in the rough but absolutely recommend for Dark Souls fans, since it is heavily inspired by these games.
The devs are patching the game pretty frequently to even out some things too.
Needless to say, Id watch you doing a LP in a heartbeat.

@@ManEaterBrainBug i cant speak for anyone here but... lotf is the only souls game/like ive ever ran past enemies in (in new areas, not on my way back to where i died). the amount of mobs in a level is so outrageous, especially with how many ranged ones there are, that it doesnt even feel like theres a reason to fight anything. the bosses are awful, and i had no clue where to go and had to look it up when i got lost or stuck.

There are _few_ Souls enemies and bosses that still give me genuine fear that will cause me to choke. Midir from DS3 and Ishin from Sekiro for sure still makes me sweat.

This was a tough one for me too. Best way I could beat her was to keep dodging forward to the right to get on her side and unleash heavy attacks. Her combos can be dodged to the left or right and she runs into the walls giving you many openings. Phase two, you can actually perfect guard her lightning bolts and send them back at her to deal damage. GL my dude.

Remember you can parry every single attack, and that includes her lightning. Both in her first phase, especially useful for the one that goes through the ground, and for her second phase when she shoots the lightning projectiles

On Lords of the Fallen: the game is flawed but good, at least imo.
The enemy placement and aggro reach can be frustrating at times, but the level design and feel overall is very good.
It would be cool seeing you jumping into Demon's Souls before that, so you have all the Fromsoft Souls games under your belt.

Lords of the Fallen has been absolutely incredible for me. I can't put it down. I've only gotten to it 3 or 4 times in the last week but each session has been 4+ hours. It's been awesome. I know there are some differing opinions on that... but I've had zero performance issues on my RTX 4070/AMD Ryzen 9 and honestly haven't had this much fun with a souls(like) since Elden Ring.
I'd ask for that OR for Demon's Souls :)

Honestly this boss is goddamn amazing. Also, that music. So good. Her second phase stumped me for a while as I was doing a no healing in major boss fights first playthrough but I got it done.

I have seen so many people doing Let’s Plays that are so salty towards the Black Cat for calling them a dumbass, once. Alidoro calls you bait, multiple times and everyone loves him. And yes, Black Cat was telling the truth about the fact he is going blind. You get completely different conversations if you give them gold fruit coins. And it’s not like gold fruit coins are precious in this game. They grow on a tree in real time and, by the end of the game, you have more than enough. I don’t know. I guess it’s true what they say. Don’t let people tell you who they are. Know them by their actions.
People tend to hate cats and love dogs it’s a weird phenomenon that I can’t stand and that’s my theory why they love “Alidoro” and hate black cat lol

The stalkers are actually victims and just trying to survive the puppet frenzy and petrification disease.

If you use the acid grindstone, couple good charge attacks breaks her shield in phase one.
I think you should take a long look at your build and weapons. By now you could have 4 amulet slots and 10 health cells. Your weapons seem to be doing very little damage as well. There’s even some new helpful weapon grinders you can buy at the hotel. Maybe even look at some legion arms. Some awesome ones that do way more than fire. Play how you want but it doesn’t have to be as torturous. :)
We need the shura ending for Sekiro but I would definitely recommend lords of the fallen
You've beaten Malenia, Friede and Maria. I believe you've got this too. Don't forget to go back to the hotel and upgrade some weapons, you've picked up a lot of moonstones. You also skipped some shovel robots in the early game so you can go back now and hunt them down, all of them drop some good items. You can even go respec if you think your stats could be better, like exchange some motivity for technique or get more hp. But most of all, have fun on your trip bro and get some rest. You can worry about Laxasia's old milkers in the monday, lol. As for game options, i really recommend giving Remnant games a try, it's a dark souls with guns and i think you would like it. Peace. ✌

Mati is awesome but he really gets locked into what’s comfortable for him. Seems like sometimes he’s not aware of all the options he has at his disposal.
You should use some throwables! Will help a bunch
Good. You are almost done. Also you probably defeated her already but you should max upgrade whatever weapon you plan to use.
OTHER ADVICES:
Her weakness in acid. (Puppets are weak to electricity, carcass to fire and humans to acid.)
You can keep attacking her on the back until you break the shield. You will stagger her and will be able to attack her on the back.
On phase 2 if you perfect ward the bolts you will reflect them, dealing good damage a lot of stagger.
Yes please do a play through of Lords of the Fallen! It has some issues but is up there with Lies of P as the best Souls-likes we’ve gotten.

Definitely the hardest boss in the game and it's not close lol. One of the most satisfying to learn though because it's so fast paste and parrys you can get in a row feel great
FAST PASTE
I finished Lords of the Fallen the other day and started NG+. So I think its pretty dang good. I have had it crash on me (PS5), but it generally runs well. The bosses are fairly easy. Some areas are pretty populated, but taking your time and being diligent about your surroundings alleviates a lot of that. I think that the two worlds system is cool. A lot of people that are complaining are greatly exaggerating the issues, unless (from what I've heard/seen) they're playing on XBOX and before some of the PC patches. I think if you play it on PS5, you'd really enjoy it, despite some of its shortcomings. I think its pretty dang good.
That all being said, if you're super worried on it right now, then maybe give the developers some more time for patches. Go on to Demon's Souls Remake next. I'd also love to see you play Blasphemous 1 and 2. Then get to LotF. I know that you've said before that you've thought about doing another Elden Ring playthrough, so maybe after all those games, you do another playthrough in preparation for the DLC, (which is speculated to release around February 2024). Could do those as more long form videos until the DLC is released.

1:32:58 - Can't believe you did that! So awesome & satisfying. After beating Laxasia, the only thing more hurting than my fingers was my jaw, because of all the angry teeth gnashing. I'm definitely one of those guys dodging & running all over the place with this boss fight - that's the only thing possible for us that don't have the parry gene in us. Oat Milkers? Really?
