Smash that LIKE button peeps! Would really appreciate it if we start this new journey with a bang!
Thank you for watching and I'll see you all in Part 2
Yeah boy! I love the first two but the third one rules supreme :) Can't wait for you to get into it
49:59 lothric knights are legit
\o/
I would love to see longer episodes, oh and by the way… remember when you said we don’t want to forget about the left path by the sleeping dragon… Well you forgot about it, keep up the good work love it.
@@vierus8u299 yup and some nice items :) an old friend from Dark souls 1
Damn I forgot how hard that menu theme goes, the memories just hit me like bricks
Talks, stops,…
😮 YOOOOOOOOOO!
It’s one of the most played DS themes on Spotify! 😂
After so much he talked about the soundtrack on the DS2 (where basically only Sir Alonne has a DarkSouls level theme), I knew he would already cry in the menu haha
The Zaylien remix goes hard too.
I wish Elden Ring's menu theme was this long too, it is over too soon and this just keeps going.
Seeing him talk about the bonfire so much while walking directly past it multiple times is hilarious
My eye was twitching and it made me feel uncomfortable when he walked right past it.
"im not gonna go through this here door yet, ima look for a bonfire!"
🤨
I think it was the message on the ground that did it 🤣 since he had no estus
Mati kept on making it harder on himself for quite a while there for no good reason 😂
With any metroidvania and soulsborne, and any games really with a focus on exploration, I have always subscribed to the "stick your face into every room/hallway" just in case. Maybe you'll spot a much needed bonfire, or an unguarded treasure. And it serves to remind me better to come back and explore it later if I don't immediately.
Glad someone found it funny. I just found it annoying.
I can appreciate the type of person that's also immediately enthralled by this OST. There's no shortage of absolute bangers, you're in for a good time.
Rick is that you? 🥹🙌
@@BigGaeFurryDad indeed it is lol
We must appreciate Mati's efforts and his promise that now he will explore the map more, discover secrets, look for paths. Less than 60 minutes into the clip, he already runs for his life, skipping half of the items, forgets that the tower can go up, almost skipping the second bonfire, and that he found the key to the cell with the first NPC. I love this guy
That second bonfire was right above him and that stupid message meant for the enemy he already killed got him turned away. Mati, take the messages with a grain of salt! lol
I'm more hyped for this series than I've been for entire TV Shows and movies lmao. Let's do this!
My dude just made my day, Thank you
Same I was so excited when I saw this on my notifications 📢 I couldn’t wait to get home 🏡 🧛♀️👼

A minute in and I'm already cracking up. Pretty sure this is about to just be a "Mati Reacts to DS3 OSTs" Series and I'm here for it!
The boss music tier list gonna be tough for this one if it keeps going like this 😅

I personally would LOVE seeing longer episodes, around 2hrs works nicely.
More fun for us, and you get to take your time without feeling the need to push to the end of an area to fit the entire thing into 1-2 episodes 😁
Less exhaustion from editing too, good idea 👍🏾
This here is a very important comment Mati, take your time and enjoy yourself. Don't rush yourself, the game, your editing, or even your scheduling.
True
Just a small helpful tip: hidden walls in this game are like DS1, you have to hit them to find them. Good luck Mati!
You can also roll into them
And throw thing as them

Really glad that DS3 has finally started!
Here are certain things that you might want to consider for the playthrough (no spoilers)
1) After killing each boss read through the lore of every item associated with them (you will know how you get them soon enough, I hope)
2) Having the lore of previous games in mind (especially that of Dark Souls 1's ) makes the experience especially rewarding.
3) This game has many secret areas. You might want to keep an eye out for certain gestures this time around.
4) You don't need to summon any NPC whatsoever to progress any questline unlike Dark Souls 2
5) Once you reach the end, remember that rolling the credits doesn't take you directly to NG+ just like in DS 2.
So you have the choice to decide whether to do the DLC later or not (I would personally suggest doing it after rolling credits)
This is the way
Bro I am bengali too and I m also Banerjee. 😊 Btw thanx for your comment. Really informative. DS3 is my favourite souls game.
@@matiasgago yeah, I'd add to what he said that doing the final boss of the main game after the DLC may make the fight underwhealming, because the final boss of the final DLC is something special. So I totally agree, first finish the main game, final boss included, and then do the DLCs.
Great tips explore explore explore he missed a lot of items around firelink shrine. Take ur time in this game
For the first time in RUclips history, someone said they were going to give spoiler-free good advice, and actually did. Well played, and good list!

The music in ds3 is second to none. You know you're in for a wild ride when the menu music makes you cry
Yep...can't beat the Tokyo Philharmonic!
Your reaction to the menu music is precisely why I enjoy watching you so much :) Hope you have a blast with this one :)
12:26 you can see Oscar's (the first NPC you killed back in DS1) armor leaning against what seems to be a lord vessel.
Seems he's always got an estus handy for you, even if this time it tastes like blueberries.
Haha I pointed out the same thing too!
You know what? I've been trying to find professionals reacting to the DS3 menu music and after hours of disappointment I have found you. This is hands down the *BEST* reaction on the internet to this epic musical theme! ..so I stayed and been watching your videos since. Love from the UK. ❤
Welcome to DS3! My first game ever in the franchise, and probably my favorite on many aspects.
Let's freaking go! 💯
For me it was Bloodbourne. After Bloodbourne Dark Souls 3. After this DS 1, Sekiro and DS2.😅
@@tobitroyer9429 interesting path! All great games ;)
@@zors5188 yes I know all over the place. 😅
It's funny how your first one is almost always your favorite, eh? I started with Bloodborne and six games later it's still #1 in my heart.
Elden Ring came really, really close, though, and I have zero doubt if I'd started there it'd be my favorite instead.
Regarding the timeline. I think this is thousands of years at least after DS1. The worlds been through multiple linking of the fire.
But Andre is undead. he's immortal. And as long as he doesn't lose his purpose, he won't go hollow.
That doesn’t make entire sense as the curse fades when the fire is linked. The other theory is better given the other characters you run into and the things you see: time and space are wonky in ds3 and that’s a theme.
@@johnj4471 "That doesn’t make entire sense as the curse fades when the fire is linked."
The curse fades, and then comes back. It has happened over and over (DS2 was another cycle) and has obviously lead to the world being saturated of life.
Almost all the lore points to this direction, I don't see why you are saying it doesnt make sense.
@@johnj4471
The FIRE fades, the curse does not.
This is part of why ds3 lore just doesn’t work... timey wimey is why. A lot does not line up with already established lore. Idk why Bloodborne enemies exist in ds3, probably unused assets left over they wanted to use still. They just went for member-berries and it personally just feels hamfisted.
Dude in ds1 you can see his undead sign in hie chest
Really hope this series does as well, or even better than Bloodborne. Your reactions are so genuine and the editing is fire as well. You definitely deserve at least 100k subs.

Absolutely loved your reaction to the main menu theme. Such a beautiful ost.
The way you play these games is incredibly satisfying and fun to watch. You appreciate the little things about each area and you deserve so many more subs. I'm really excited for the rest of the series I'm gonna watch every episode!
Your enthusiasm is so communicative, what a joy to see you discover these (very habitable very cosy) lands ! Following this series is going to be a blast
Great start, I'm excited for this playthrough. Yes please for longer episodes 😊
This was my first souls game. I've yet to finish it, but the atmosphere has me coming back again and again. Love your playthroughs. Appreciate that you spend time to edit out the dead air. Have fun!
Gotta be my favourite intro cinematic of them all. The Lords of Cinder rising on its own is metal as hell. But the shot after that of the kneeling knight, paired with the music, gives me chills everytime.
I still haven't played the dark souls series but it's been so incredibly fun to see the games through your perspective! When I was very young my favorite thing in the world was to watch my older brother play Zelda (N64) and watching your videos gives that same "this is the best" feeling
Nah man, first video i've watched of you and i already liked you first 5 minutes i've watched. The moment you started apreciating the menu theme i just plugged my headphones and started listening to it with you and man, you've reminded me the banger that theme is! So up for this! It’s such a good game. Hyped you’re finally playing this one! One of my favourites after bloodborne
Yes finally, very excited for this!
This take my slice of cake for the best "Part 1" of any Fromsoft game played by any youtuber... This was so nostalgic and exciting to watch having seen all of your other playthroughs. Priceless reactions!
Love your positive energy and enthusiasm, liked and subscribed.
I'm so excited to see you start this! I've been looking forward to this one the most I must admit.
Right off the bat, some things to check on in that first area before pressing forward.
1. You got the key for the NPC in the Cage, under the 2nd bonfire
2. You Missed a staircase right next to the first dead dragon by the 1st bonfire.
3. Its worth grabbing the last 2 items in front of the fire breathing dragon.
4. check around the left side of Firelink shrine, Outside the building.
5. In the room with the firebomb enemies, and dogs there is a chest in the rafters.
Thanks so much again for making these vids, I already know I'm gonna watch every one of these as soon as you post them.
Yes, gotta get the dude sprung from his cage!
1:24:16 roll through the barrels and drop down.
Hype episode! Happy to see you enjoying ds3.
A couple small things you missed that you might wanna check out: theres actually actually a small path to the left (you only went right) of Firelink shrine as well with something a little interesting, though you're quite strong by now; also, you missed a small staircase going up, left of the one you go down after the high wall of lothric bonfire by the dead dragon, it leads to the binoculars, thought you might wanna use them at the place where you raised the banner for a nice view :).
About the random flask, you fill up a hidden gauge when you kill enemies and when it's full you get a flask.
Ha. 2 playthroughs and I didn't know that lol.
@@Dale-sj6ru Me neither! I always assumed it filled based on other players defeating the area boss like in DS1.
never knew that, just knew when it happened and it made me happy
Dude, pure joy to watch you enjoy DS3 for a first time and in the way how it should be enjoyed, with knowledge of all that was before. Thanks! :)
Hey yo Mati, I'm really happy that you made this video and playing dark souls 3. It was my first Souls Game and does therefore have a special place in my heart. I always wish that I could experience DS 3 as if it were my first time but sadly this isn't possible. But you playing it for the first time and me seeing you experiencing everything that I loved in this game, everything I laughed, cried or was in complete awe about is really close to that. I didn't even really start the video but I already know that it will be great. I really thank you and love you for that because it fills me not only with nostalgia but also with happiness to see someone who is as cool and awesome as you play dark souls 3. I hope that you will enjoy the game because I did. It's not perfect but I'd say it's close to being that as it really teached me to carry on and to not give up, for one who doesn't give up and stays true in his good intentions will never fail. Thank you man and a great day to you and everyone who read my *short* comment.
Edit: So after some sleep and finally finishing the video I have to say some things.
First of all, f* yeah BABY that's what I've been waiting for, that's what it's all about, Wooooooo!
It just makes me so damn happy that you enjoy dark souls 3 this much from the beginning! I mean the way you just jammed to the dark souls theme at the the beginning as well as to vordts theme at the end shows that, but these ost's just hit different because they're all so damn good. Your reactions to the beginning, the hub area, the music and everything else was just great and genuinely believe that you are already very good, man. You use your shield well, use your fire bombs extensively and have even beaten a dark snake monster on your own. At the end you even killed the lothric knights like they were nothing and even killed the red eyed blue knight first frickin time, i mean c'mon that's really impressive because this dude killed me very often in my first play through. Which means the experience you acquired through the other games really shows, especially when you second try the first to bosses.
But light criticism or better, tips for you when you play dark souls 3 and if you even want them. So, you already alloted your flasks which was great because you were right, you didn't need the blue flasks and also good that you took the broad sword and leveled it up instead because of its better stats. But firstly take a little bit more time to explore, there's always something to find so don't be afraid to take a closer look around the area. Also some tips, Alt button is for slow walking with which you can can sneak up on enemies. Left Ctrl allows you to use the the weapon arts which you already found out by using the parry. But when you press f to double wield you can unleash mighty attacks or special abilities which use the blue FP. Okay i think this was all from my side. You already did very well on your own and I'm so happy to see you enjoying DS 3. I really love this game, but you playing it makes it even better, be prepared for little nostalgia trips and also hard beatings which I am certain that you will arise victorious from. The boss fights will "mostly" get better and better every time and so will their Ost's. I'm really looking forward to it.
Lastly a fun fact: The theme at the beginning of dark souls 3, the title screen music was meant to be the boss theme for the final boss of the game so it is no wonder that it goes so hard. You will encounter the boss later in the game but he isn't the final boss anymore.
If want to know which boss, spoiler warning ahead. But yeah this was all, have a great day!
Spoiler warning ⚠️
It was Pontiff Sullivan's theme
Hurt the Fire Keeper and I'll invade you! 😂

At 26:15, there is actually a way to get on the roof earlier than intended by using the tree as a ramp and jumping. Some simple trial and error will be enough as it allows access to some goodies that will be extremely helpful to your playthrough.
Yeah but i think this would kill the purpose of really playing the Game the way it was intended, although youre kinda right the tree jump is like already a Feature rather than a glitch lol😂
Super stoked for this, have fun. Down for longer eps, cheers
This is gonna be awesome! This is my favorite souls game without a doubt, I have easily more than 3000 hours in this game lol, in the beggining of the game is best to put all of your points in health, that's the easiest start, and use deep or simple weapons that you find which don't scale with anything, they just have high base damage at the beggining of the game, then you can decide which build you wanna go with, dark builds are the most fun because you can use almost everything, magic, miracles, dark magic, strength weapons, dexterity weapons etc, dark is basically levelling up both magic and faith at the same time, but you'll have to use gems to change the weapon properties so they can scale with those stats, dark builds are way more advanced tho, the easiest and most simple builds are always gonna be strenght or dexterity
If you are still curious where DS3 fits, it definitely takes place after DS1 and 2. There are a couple of areas and items and npcs that reference this. Really hope you enjoy playing the entire game.
Finally got watch the start of this amazing series! So excited to see your first run, Mati!
We here baby. Hella hyped for this series
DS2 has its periodic ganks, and DS3 has its periodic enemies with nearly infinite stamina, like the knight you had trouble defeating after the dragon.
Pontiff knight full combo is unreal
The only time i see that as an problem, is the Corvian Knights in the Ariandel DLC, those bastards never stop attacking and are pretty tanky.
Btw Ds3 takes place after the events of DS2 and ds1 but it takes place closer to lordran than it does to drangleic
I really loved the long episode! Glad to have so much content!
Love your enthusiam. These are great games and I'm glad they're bringing as much joy to you as they did for me!
SO excited for 3! You're a blast to watch. Just a reminder that you need to attack or roll for secret walls in this one. It looked like you walked up to some like you thought they we're illusory, so just wanted to make sure you knew.
You forgot the cell with a thief in it. Also there's a stairs at the dead dragon with a common tool you might appreciate up them. The First Flame got moved 2+ times. When you get frostbite, your stamina recovery gets slower and you get damage from the proc. A lot of DS2 story things make it into DS3 and effects a lot if you're paying attention.
Found your channel through the Bloodborne playthrough. That was the first souls game i played through and beat and i loved it. Been watching your souls series ever since. This one is super exciting. Lolol.
broooo finally an entertaining youtuber that does full play through of soul games 🙏🏽🔥 you’ve got my sub bro
finally someone that says bro....so refreshing
If you didnt know: the giant tree is actually from ds2 and the handmaid in firelinkshrine aswell
Just a heads up, vitality is a new stat that determines you equip load.
Also:
If you want to do a melee/magic hybrid build, its normally best to pick two of the offensive stats to focus on. Examples being a Strength/Intelligence build, or Dexterity/Intelligence build. This helps you not waste any stat points. Normally for hybrid builds you want your weapon in the right hand and a catalyst (staff) in the left hand.
Later on you will be able to add infusions to your weapons to make them scale better with different stats. Just make sure to pay attention to the stat screens of weapons and look at the letters to see how they scale with different stats.
Nah this isn't really correct. On an honest NG playthrough you are meant to pick one damage stat, if he wants magic he should do pure Int or Faith build and his melee options will still be fine. Maxing out 2 damage stats is inefficient and unnecessary. He can simply infuse any regular melee weapon with Int/Faith scaling, before he unlocks that base damage is more than fine. Splitting focus with str/dex past whats needed for requirements will simply make his spellcasting much weaker without any added damage benefit to his melee damage.
Until you get to an extremely high level (130+), hybrid builds are a noob trap. My guess is he's going to do some type of hybrid build like you said, then complain why it feels weak, because he doesn't understand leveling/scaling fully.
@@yeahr1ghty I agree that focusing on one stat is the superior way to go, I was more recommending if he wants to go hybrid, keep it at two stats maximum, no more than that.
@Yeah Right I guess a better way to say what I meant is, to get minimum requirement for either the weapon or spell you want to use, then focus primarily on the other.
@@yeahr1ghty honestly it doesn’t matter on the first playthrough, they made the game easier and more accessible so even if you waste stats you still excel. This is why you can dodge 7 times from the start in a row, this only increases as you level up your stamina pool so you basically outscale enemies unless you intentionally throw away souls. In a regular casual playthough, you get more than enough souls and levels to just romp through the game. This is also why it is the most popular souls game because of the ease you can feel “badass” by dodging that hit or taking down that big enemy. Ds1 and DS2 are still kings in comparison to ds3 in many many aspects from lore to builds to pvp
Oh yeah weapon scaling on infused weapons isn’t a thing in ds3 anymore.
LETS GO!! So hype for this! YOURE GOING TO F LOVE IT!! Has been an amazing ride thus far brother!
I'm so stoked for you to start DS3. Been a fan since the beginning of your souls venture. You seem really chill and down to earth.
Same as Dark Souls 1 If the chains facing towards you it's a mimic if its facing away from you it's a chest. Also if I'm not mistaken on the tower you cant go all the way up where you kill your first abyss enemy or what you say alien dudes theres wood planks on the same level you can smash and jump down there.

This was my second game after my intro of Bloodborne. I'm so hype for Mati to play this too!!
Feels like forever ago bro thank you lots for being here
Excited to watch the whole series!
It will be fun to relive this through you. This was my first Dark souls game in the trilogy, and I was hella confused. 😆 but watching it now, it makes more sense.
Fog gates in Firelink Shrine are normal. I have no idea why they appear, but they always disappear in a few minutes.
If I remember right they’re just there since the outside area loads a little slower than the inside of Firelink. It’s another “instance” or something like that.
Super excited for this. Be careful about spreading yourself too thin in your stats. I know you want to try a bit of everything, but the game is just not built that way. At most, pick one or two main offense stats and focus on levelling those up to 40ish by endgame. If you want to try different builds, that's what NG+ and additional playthroughs are for! Good luck Ashen One!
Been excited for this series so much!
Sooo cool finally seeing you play this game!!!
The music in firelink shrine can be changed in the future by giving a certian item to the firekeeper. The firekeeper also has reactions to gestures you do
I absolutely love when the firelink music changes. I don't know that much about music technically, but I do wonder if it switches to a minor key.
Now that you've started DS3 something you should know is that it has FOUR different endings compared to the previous two games. The first ending is easy to get, the next two require the firekeepers story quest, and the last requires following a very convoluted and long story quest that's very easy to mess up so its not a bad thing to miss it tbh.
And when a certain item is given to the Firekeeper toward one of the alternate endings, the music in Firelink changes, becomes darker, richer.
I've been looking forward to this play through since you started the dark souls series. So hyped!
