Hello Everyone! We just added more data to our phone and I've noticed a common threads I'd like to share: - I believe the environmental issues facing Nassau is related to industry and tourism. The sculpture garden was installed to give tour operators a new place to bring snorkelers and relieve a little pressure from the nearby reefs. At least that's the story we found, but there doesn't seem to be a lot of info about it and our internet is too slow/expensive to really dig into research mode. - The leak is coming from a small fresh air vent under the steps over our forward windows. This vent is only 2"x2". The temporary fix I came up with is using a special vinyl tape to cover the vent. I will not be able to properly repair the hole until I have time to remove all the ceiling and forward panels in the galley, it will take all day to do this task. In the meantime the tape keeps water out of the vent and our forward port cabin is now dry again. - The blow is coming our way at the end of this video, you will see us sailing to our next destination in the next video. - Groceries are expensive here, there is no secret grocery store. We are shopping where the locals shop. - I will always row facing forward so we can enjoy the beauty ahead. If we are ever in an emergency and I need to move fast I'll row facing the stern of the boat. Give me the option of looking forward at my lovely wife and the beautiful water OR the dinghy engine, I'll choose forward EVERY time. - We do know we need weights to offset our wet suits, we cannot purchase them here as they are extremely expensive. We will get properly outfitted when we return to FL this Summer. We did not purchase in advance because we thought the water would be warmer in the Bahamas than it is. I hope this clears up a few of the common questions. As always you can find a lot more detail on each place we visit on our website. Thanks for watching!
This thing was in my G+ stream, and I think it would be perfect for you guys. A solar oven makes sense for you, given the places where you hang out. Look into it. If not this model, there are others to consider, The sun is free.. and who knows maybe the people who make that thing would like to sponsor a product test on a catamaran... out at sea... it could open a whole new market for them if a pair of RUclips stars like you two test the product and make a video about it... ruclips.net/video/f3TQsfY6_P4/видео.html
SO happy you had the chance to meet Johannes and Cati, we absolutely love them and hope to join up with them in the Bahamas before they end their season. Jaws Beach looks like a beautiful spot to stay, we'll have to add it to our list now. :)
You may not the saltiest of sailors, but you make great videos. There are an abundance of cruising videos on RUclips these days, but only a handful worth watching. Thanks.
i have been watching for a long time .You two are just like my Wife and I. Two years ago We became empty nesters , our daughter moved out , so We bought a boat in Michigan and sailed it from one end of Lake Erie in Michigan to the other end in Buffalo NY. We stay on the boat all summer long . We love the freedom .
Another enjoyable video! That leak really did a job on your ceiling or overhead....those kind of things can suck the wind out of ya, but Nikki and Jason just shrugs it off and doesn't let that kind of stuff bother them. I thought that girl crouching statue was rather small....until Jason came into the picture and quickly grew. Thank you guys.....
What?!? A video on a Thursday?!? What a nice surprise. Great shots of the underwater sculpture and we totally would have done the same thing at the grocery store as you have to get the good stuff when you can.
Great video- Kevin and I jump when we get the notification of an upload from you two. We were just on Nassau, but on the other side which is the tourist trap. Counting the days when we can strike out on our own and create some memories of our own. Live for your tips!
Thank you for the awesome video. You two are so personable it is no wonder you meet and gain new friends. Blessings and safety to you both in your adventures.
the video was amazing. the water did look like a swimming pool. I find it amazing how the water can change so much in one area. from such a pristine blue to green in another spot. I bet it felt funny to be walking on land again after being on water for so long. sculptures were ok. thank you for taking me with you. it is fun to be seeing all of this and not get sea sick. so stay safe and happy sailing Joyce
*Loved* the music you used in this video! Also loved the underwater shots--hauntingly beautiful, kind of creepy (in a good way). I agree about the juxtaposition of the natural beauty and the strange plant and freighters in the background. Your videos keep getting better and better! Much love from South Carolina ❤️
i have been watching your videos from day since you guys started sailing and they are so nicely done it just makes me feel like dropping every thing and go cruising... ONE DAY FOR SURE
A sun downer, what is that? I haven't seen the sun in eleven day's and 29 inches of snow. Were getting mighty thirsty, time to buy a boat. Great videos.
oh no on the leak. That's a big day. We have those days. Chores, errands, and projects. So glad we got to meet yall at the Miami Boat Show. We are watching all your videos over and over. We do not currently have a water meter. What do you use? Oh my goodness that grocery store looks great. I want to see the prices more!!!! ~ Chris, Jolene, Carter, Chase and Caleb
Happy to have your music man, it really makes our videos so much better. As soon as I have decent internet again I'll have to see if have a new album...it's been a while :)
Great episode J+N :) Can't wait to see the beautiful Bahamas' waters next month when we are headed on vacation. Have a great one, Cheers from PEI Canada, Bryan
Jason and Nikki, it is St. Patrick's Day, and I wish you both a boat drink at this time.I really love your trips these past years. Keep up the good work you two,I do not think I could afford to live your life style in my retirement, but love to live through you both from my lap top.Have a drink on me from the tip jar.Manhattan Dave, Ohio
Awesome video as always. Started following you when you started looking for a boat and I absolutely love the vlog. As far as the statue goes I think it's just as much "ART" as the surface of the real world is. They'll be making paintings about that for the next millenia. It's awesome that you're seeing the world for what it is today and not waiting till tomorrow. Always look forward to your content. -Gabe.
Your editing is truly exceptional!!! I've really enjoyed watching your sailing journey. It has brought peace to my mind and joy to my heart. Thank you!!!
Thank you so much for this new video, I've been waiting for it. The underwater sculpture was breathtaking and nearly brought me to tears considering the juxtaposition of the smokes stacks on the surface. (I believe someone MUST have put it there with intention.)
I thought your underwarter cinematography, color grading, and editing was excellent! I'm looking forward to more of that in the future; although surely it was a lot of work.
Great video. Keep them coming. Our water is still frozen. We took drone footage of us driving around. It turned out beautiful. Hope to be sailing again soon. Fair winds.
I am in Freeport for 3 days (hubby had business here). Would't have come all the way from SoCal except for watching your adventures. And you are so right, even the so-called high speed internet sucks. Watching your video from here is almost impossible.
I was so happy for you guys when I saw that grocery store! Even though it was a pretty penny, I'm glad you guys got to stock up on some fresh fruit and veggies. :)
Hey Wynns, Another fun episode. Nikki, what about making a small checklist that you can tape to the cover the water maker so you don't have to drag the manual out? Also what was the leak? a hatch or something else? Fair winds!
Hey there, I've been watching y'all for about a year now. I'm a gaffer ( lighting guy) in Hollywood. When we operate our generators, we have to turn them on and off with a series of switches and buttons in a specific order similar to your water maker. We label the switches with a label machine numerically 1-5 to turn them on and alphabetically A-E to turn them off. Handier, I think than your manual. Keep up the good work.
Gone with the Wynns Most buttons have two labels, a number and a letter. On procedure would be: 1 then 2 then 3 then 4 then 5. Off procedure would be A followed by B then C then D then E.
Richard Tibbetts That's exactly what I was thinking I would do in that situation. I use lots of different sewing machines and end up labeling things like that so I don't have pull out the manual for each machine every time I need to sew a different kind of fabric or use a different presser foot.
yeayyy. german boat ;-) hope you guys come to Thailand someday. Not sure what to expect? Watch our vlogs and we will happy to show you Bangkok and Thailand :-) Enjoy sailing :-)
As always, a great video and 'episode'! Thanks! One request, please? Just before the sundowners....how about 20-30 seconds of drone clips from each location? Just a thought.....I like the aerial vids!
+Bogeys 12 oh, we would love to...except our drone is on the fritz! So frustrating. We have to send it to DJI for repair. Then, we will be all about it.
You are both a great example of new sailors whom have stepped up to the challenge. You are an inspiration to any one who would like to try living aboard. Then again you do have a nice fully equipped CAT that makes it much more comfortable. Thanks so much for sharing your daily life in the Bahamas. After the Bahamas, what's next?
Gosh almighty what a blessed life. Love your videos but really I love how you portray your port-of-calls, if you will. You explain everything as we view it in detail without losing our attention. Thank you!
Jaws beach, oh yes right here there's a video on You Tube about the original filming location to where they'll show you where the original buildings are, what's still standing or not. Really neat! :-)
Another great window into your adventure. Loved the footage of the underwater sculpture park and that it makes us think and wonder. We're in Ilfracombe England 🇬🇧 now and there is a 20m tall Damien Hirst sculpture here called "Verity" that is thought provoking as well. As always, thanks for sharing! 😀😀 -Henry
Question for you I've watched you since you were driving a motorhome and now you're on the water in your sailboat it seems to me that you're more excited about where you been going in the things you've seen since you been on your sailboat I love the energy I see when you're out and about on your boat and it just seems like you're having such a great time learning how to sail seeing all these new places I love watching your videos keep having fun keep exploring and be safe
It's funny, but I can't snorkel very well, so I learned to dive, which I know you know how to do. My husband dives, way before me. And he noticed your long fins, which a lot of snorkelers use. What awesome videos you put together. I Love sailing and being on the ocean. I'm sure you will get a lot of tips from fishermen on fishing🤗. Take care and God Speed to you all
Hey guys, great video. Have a friend from the east coast of Washington state. He got a diving cert. and moved to southern California. He started out scraping the hulls of boats and now lives in the marina. Some people call a class A a land yacht, I beg to defer. Thanks for posting.
You guys make me want to sell everything and buy a boat! BTW - it's so much easier to row sitting backwards and pulling the oars and using your legs instead of sitting forward and pushing them. Looks like you guys are living the dream - good for you!
My friend a Bahamian who lives and drives the tour busses told us that all foods and dry goods are 200 to 400% more expensive. They take their vacations here in the states mostly Florida because the $20.00 jeans in Walmart here cost them up to $70 in the Bahamas. So they save all year to buy goods here. No Walmarts or Targets in the Bahamas.
At 14:32 there look to be 3 studs coming out of her back which would indicate to me that something should be attached there. Then there is that spear like object in her back. What does the spear represent?

Gone with the Wynns here in Nassau, I live here. it is expensive with groceries. the fresh market is the place you should have visited.
Never knew I wanted to go to the Bahamas until I started watching your videos. Thanks for all the effort you put into your videos, they're wonderful!
SO happy you had the chance to meet Johannes and Cati, we absolutely love them and hope to join up with them in the Bahamas before they end their season. Jaws Beach looks like a beautiful spot to stay, we'll have to add it to our list now. :)

Nearly everything is edible down there. Another stunning episode.
WOW the water is amazing, so clear and blue. Very enjoyable video. Thank you
The water and Nikki was looking beautiful in this video

You guys are so lucky to live this kind of life.........Keep on doing this and never go back to the city. Your videos are awesome.

Entertaining and educational, really enjoy following your travels and watching your great videos.
Another excellent video! I love seeing all these islands from the non-touristy/non-cruise ship point of view!
Nice footage of underwater sculpture.
A sun downer, what is that? I haven't seen the sun in eleven day's and 29 inches of snow. Were getting mighty thirsty, time to buy a boat. Great videos.
Oh wow she is huge (the underwater girl that is) - from the photo you had posted I thought she was a table top statue :) very cool!
oh no on the leak. That's a big day. We have those days. Chores, errands, and projects. So glad we got to meet yall at the Miami Boat Show. We are watching all your videos over and over. We do not currently have a water meter. What do you use?

Nice to see something of Cati and Johannes again.
Give them my greetings if you see them again.
Love your videos. Been watching for a couple years now. Glad you decided to sail. Much more entertaining videos!
Nassau looks amazing! The sculptures were intriguing. They kind of remind me of Atlantis :) Thanks for sharing.

Great video as always! You two are making me rethink my retirement plans! Thanks for sharing your adventures.
I thought your underwarter cinematography, color grading, and editing was excellent! I'm looking forward to more of that in the future; although surely it was a lot of work.
Always is a lot of work to put together a vid, but we enjoy sharing! :) Thanks for the kind comments.
Beautiful episode, thanks! You seem so friendly :)
Great video
Great video as usual. Thank you. 😀
That was nice. Thank you for the little tour. : )

Outstanding Nikki. You would be surprised at the number that dont read the manuals until its too late.
Wow, you all didn't need the leak. But the beautiful scenery was awesome through the lens.

Greetings from Austin, Texas. Gotta love HEB and Whole Foods.

Back to FL for a last bit of service then SOUTH!!! We only know that we have to get out of the hurricane belt.
Gosh almighty what a blessed life.
Love your videos but really I love how you portray your port-of-calls, if you will. You explain everything as we view it in detail without losing our attention. Thank you!
Looks like such a fun lifestyle just getting to cruise around and meet fellow sailers! So jealous 😆
Another outstanding submission :)

DH is always provocative. thanks for sharing!
Great vid guys! You know I just realized your at 122k subs now 😱 I remember when you hit 5k! Crazy!! Keep up the great work, stay safe! 🤗
I got the same vibe from the placement of the statute. It's very beautiful though and really does make you think.

You need a red filter for the lens of your camera. It will make the corals underwater look more clear.Great Video!
Great video, please tell us how you fixed the leak.
It's good to have friends! Right? :D I can't imagine a more perfect day! Thank you again for sharing your life with us - hugz
ha ha
i like that - woman head down, butt up in an engine bay... (well water treatment anyway)
Good stuff Nikki.
It's funny, but I can't snorkel very well, so I learned to dive, which I know you know how to do. My husband dives, way before me. And he noticed your long fins, which a lot of snorkelers use. So pretty there

No Walmarts or Targets in the Bahamas.
Does the outboard motor have a manual choke or is it automatic? The water looked crystal clear!
Those Sumo Tangerines are delicious. I work at a grocery store in Minnesota, and they are $3.99 a pound here. Expensive, but so good.
At 14:32 there look to be 3 studs coming out of her back which would indicate to me that something should be attached there. Then there is that spear like object in her back. What does the spear represent?
14:25 that mermaid put things in perspective.
You guys should scuba certs. and a bauer junior air compressor. I just feel you are missing so meny great diving experiences :-)
What is the reflectix for under the bed? I wondered if you find it has some sound deadening qualities to insulate you from the water maker?
+John Lockhart it helps with heat from the engines and sound as well.
