In some street fighter games, you can get dragon punch to come out if you wiggle your stick between down-back, down, and down-forward as long as you end the input on down-forward you get a DP when you press punch. Which is hella strong to use, as its a crouching DP, no need to stand and tip your hand. I know it works in 4, and im sure it works in 5 and 6. Its been a thing for a million years, now.
Hell yeah! Love to hear it man! Yeah, when I figured it out, it was a total game changer for all my play in any game with a DP! Glad it worked for you as well!
That’s so weird…when I started on the original SF II back in 91, Forward, Down, Down-Forward was the only way that it was written out. The idea that people have been learning it differently since then is wild. (My rate of success on DP’s in the heat of battle is still 50/50 at best, lol. We’ll see if this helps.)
I think most people are used to the more relaxed inputs of sf4 and sf5. The sf2 games have strict inputs. Alpha series started to relax the inputs slightly and it evolved from there.
Yup! Totally agree. That’s why I wanted to find an easier input for sf2 that also worked in sfv. And this method works for both, is super easy, and because it’s a reverse hadoken, it prevents accidental fireballs. Took my gameplay to the next level.

Very nice way to explain alternative input motions which work in all SFs. Applies to SF3 as well, also if you hold down, press forward twice (fast) and press punch you can also get a DP.

I'm here because I just got yoga flame arcade1up and I'm having inconsistent dragon punches for super turbo. Hyper fighting is easier but for some reason I'm not consistent in super turbo.
Depending on what speed you play, I find I need to do the motion faster in ST.
@@OfficeArcade ah, I didn't consider my speed. I've been playing on 2 and 3 turbo speed. I'm going to do some experimenting with my hand speed and your technique. A con about the arcade1up machine is there is no training mode.
Yeah I use 30th anniversary for training.
Awesome
Does this work in other series? I hop games frequently so I'd like it consistent across games.
Yup! With a in every street fighter and vs game I have tried it in!
How do I make the dragon punch have flames?
I think you might be talking about the super in super turbo. That is double quarter circle forward punch. Or if you are talking sfv. It’s ex. Single quarter circle forward and 2 punch buttons.
How'd you get the arcade border for sf2
That’s part of the street fighter 30th anniversary compilation capcom put out. Borders and all.
does the new method work on the stock Big Blue stick?
Yes sir!
@@OfficeArcade awesome I’m gonna a jigglin all night long! It’s great you’re teaching technique on a 30 yo game!
@@splby awesome! Glad you found the video helpful and let me know how the jiggling goes!
SF3 is my favorite imo
My least favorite. So hoping I like sf6 since it borrows from 3.
yo does this work on keyboard because i got the game on pc and i play on keyboard
I'm not sure! Have never tried to play a fighter on keyboard!
What if you play on pad?
I haven’t played a fighting game on pad in years. Mechanically should be similar if you use analog stick. Or try folding forward on the dpad and then tap down while still holding forward and press punch.
I learned pushing foward than a hadouken motion will get out a DP. I have no clue why it works, but it works 100% of the time lol strangest stuff ever
I still cant do dragon shuruken on call 😂😫
At what point do I press P?
Right after you start the jiggle motion. So spam the jiggle and then P.
I can pull it off better on the 2player side(right side)
Isnt a dragon punch ... forward, down, corner, forward, punch? I think you're forgetting the last direction input.
That’s how it’s drawn in old manuals. But there are many shortcuts that make it faster to get out, easier to execute from crouch block, and more consistent. This is one of those modern methods I share here.
Secret title of the video: "how to not be a dummy with control joysticks" 😂😂😂😂
it cant work on my laptap
Should work just fine. Takes practice!
❤
dragon punch is easy ;p. Now, doing it on SF1...that's a different story.
🤣 that’s the secret boss.
Ita funny how many/most? players have a better direction! For me fireballs and dps are always easier facing left
Not working for me somehow
Are you on a fight stick or a pad?
@@OfficeArcade I am using fight stick.
@@shailendrarathaur gotcha, just go into training mode and turn on the input capture option to see what your inputs look like to refine the way you are doing the motion.
@@OfficeArcade It looks like Fwd Downfwd Neutral Forward Downfwd
@@shailendrarathaur jiggle in the corner and make sure you are on a standards square gate. The neutral means you are doing more of a circular motion.
its hard to dragon punch:(
Not an easy motion to learn at all.
↘️↘️ P, ALSO works on sf4
Sounds like youre doing f~d/f~f~d/f to me.
The motion feels more like a fluid ffd => ffd
@@OfficeArcade IDK about the motion. im talking about the switches pressed.
I play on keyboard
Was thinking about doing a hitbox tutorial.
You ain't got no shoryukens.
Just hold forward and scoop, you're making this way too damn complicated for no reason. Z is just forward then scoop Qtr circle forward. it's that easy
My way prevents accidental hadoukens as explained in the video. Also faster out of crouch block.
@@OfficeArcade all jokes aside if you're accidentally hadoukening you're doing it wrong .
हिंदी में बताओ भाई साहब केन का shoureykon moves
The Z diagram is wrong in so many ways. Who came up with that? It's never been correct.
The OG Capcom manuals.
