    *Whoops* at 18:14 it said 28 mpg hwy, it’s 38 as stated in the video. 👍
    What do you think of this new Civic? Is the redesign everything you wanted from Honda? I like a lot of what they did with it and a lot of the similarities from the last generation...but of course there are always things you can pick on. Overall, I think this is a great option for this class of car and it truly offers a lot for the price.
    Thank you for watching!

    When Honda first released pictures of this car, I didn’t like it at all. But it’s starting to grow on me, thanks partly to video reviews…like this one. Your photography is excellent (as usual) and you show the car at its best. I had been thinking of grabbing one of the last of the 10th gen EX sedans but now I’m considering waiting for the market to improve and get a ‘22 after a while. BTW, I agree with you on the lack of lumbar adjustment…I can’t believe they don’t offer it at least on the top trims. Nice work, Nolan, I’m looking forward to more of your reviews! 👍

    Just bought myself a 2022 Honda Civic EX and I love it. All the great futures of Honda and its simplicity, yet tied to modern futuristic style and roughness with this new front, its just amazing. Not to mention the 33-42 MPG its giving me on top of the Touring, I couldn't find anything else worth its money like this Honda Civic. Would like to add that honda civic's are like turtles, you see old Civic's running around In Mexico like it ain't nothing. Can't wait to drive it the next couple of years. Great video!!

    2022 Honda Civic Sport Touring is best in class. Yes, Mazda3 is torquer, but it short on tech, though it has nice soft touch materials. The new Civic is more like a mid-sized sedan with useable back row seats. The chassis has been redesigned entirely making the new Civic have fantastic steering, handling and performance. Independent rear suspension adds to the car's agility. Some people may decry the lack of lumbar support and the use of a CVT. I thought the seats were very comfortable and the CVT has been improved on this new model. It's pretty obvious that I'm in the market to buy the new Civic top trim.

  • @roadrailn

    Sharp car!
    My cons:
    1. Volume knob should be bigger (or even one by the shift counsel/cup holders where your hand rests)
    2. Chrome A/C vents, they look neat but on sunny days that reflection is annoying
    3. Side Blinkers (besides mirror) could be better especially on the back. They do seam fairly visible directly from the front and somewhat on the back but your brake lights look like they’d overpower your blinker light and a side view all you have to go by is the mirrors flashing
    4. And it’s got to have lumbar support

  • @daynevickers1079
    @daynevickers1079 3 года назад +7

    I know I’m very late to the game, but I’m considering a Civic Touring. Of course no one for over 500 miles has one in stock. I really wanted to know if the passenger seat headrest is as bad as the 9th gen LX’s where it pushes your head forward. I can never get comfortable in it and have to sit in the back seat for any longer trips as a result. After watching MANY reviews, you are the only person to mention this regarding the 9th gen and how this 11th is comfortable and doesn’t have that problem. Thank you! That helps me feel better about putting money down on one before I can actually sit in one.

    Let me understand this. So there is indeed a Sport trim for the 2022 Civic. That's great. But you can't get the Turbo charged engine option on the "Sport" trim. Seriously?

    • @PrimeAutotainment
      @PrimeAutotainment  3 года назад +1

      That’s correct. Same with the 2021 and older models from that generation. It’s basically just a bit of aesthetic differences. Less power and less torque for the sport lol

    I think the new Civic is very nice, and my preference over the others in the segment. More refined and improved from the previous generation..
    The Sport is racy with all the necessities, but without the extra cost items that is nice, but not needed to keep the price down, and have the adequate but more reliable N/A 2.0L engine, like the previous version. And it looks even nicer with blacked out emblems, body kit, and rear spoiler from the optional HPD appearance package.
    But if you are more mature and want the toned down subdued look with all the sportiness and all the bells and whistles, the Touring is the way to go, with the leather seats, Bose sound system, wireless charging, Apple Carplay and Android Auto, and everything else.
    But now I plan to get the Sport Touring Hatchback, color depending on availability, but I have my favorites, but the black interior. I like the more agressive front fascia and grille, rear end styling, and cargo utility, and the Sport/Sport Touring Hatchback is said to have an even more performance oriented sport tuned suspension.
    For me, it's almost perfect, except it would be nice to have the map pocket behind the driver's seat on the Sport Touring, the rear A/C vents on the back of the center console, memory driver's and ventilated front seats.
    The Si should have a dual exhaust tip version of the Sport, and it would be great if it had the detuned Type R 2.0L Turbo from the Accord Sport and Touring, since that would be the more common, practical, comfortable and affordable performance option to the full out Type R for those that want to go racing, and such.
    Great video, as always.

    I know the Civic R is coming.. but only as a 4 door hatch back, with a hokie wing, fattie wheel flares and a cow catcher front spoiler, add to that 20" ghetto wheels in that ugly 'brake dust' black color... Id love that 380HP R motor, with a DCT (Dual Clutch Transmission 8 speed) and add a exhaust cutout like the new Hyundai Elantra N.. put all that in a Civic sedan like you have there, WITHOUT BADGES... I want a sleeper...

    I get the feeling maybe Honda wants to capture more of the female audience and not young females, but I’d say the 30-50 range. Then Honda can sell the Si and R to guys of all ages who want to. But this was made more luxurious and soft and smoothed out to attract woman again. And I think it will take sales from Mazda’s 3 and Toyota’s Corolla. I would bet my bank account that woman will flock to this new Civic, they will get so much and save cash versus the Honda Accord. I think this car is going to outsell even the Accord!!! Smart on Honda’s part to create a Civic that’s mature and cast a wider net to all kinds of people and young families who may want better gas mileage than a crossover would get. I might be wrong on some of this but I bet the car sells like hot cakes so maybe there won’t be many deals other than low interest financing. We shall see. I believe Honda has a new winner on their hands here. Good job! Thanks for bringing it to us Nolan!

      Bingo! You’re the first person commenting on that (that I’ve seen) and you’re exactly right. I’m in that female demographic and just bought a brand new 2023 Civic Touring a couple of weeks ago. I like the more toned-down, mature look and the gorgeous interior. I had a 2002 Civic LX I’d been driving for 18 years, so it was WAY past time for an upgrade! This new Civic is beautiful and the less flashy, more modest lines give it a more classic look/feel. It will still look good in 20 years and I love that!

      @Michael Thanks! I’m rather suspicious I WON’T get 18 years out of this new one. Ha! 😉 Actually, I needed to upgrade from my ‘02 LX for some time before. But I don’t drive a lot since I work from home and was laid up for some time with my third hip dislocation. But if I get 10-15 years out of it, I’ll be happy. (Preferably at least 12 years.) I see absolutely no reason to buy a car if the current car is running and safe to drive. I’ll never be one to get a car every 2-5 years. Absolute waste of money I could be doing something else with. But that’s also why I justify buying the top trim level. 😉 Fortunately, I was able to pay cash for this car. No car payments! Yay! 🥳

      1000000% can confirm this as a woman. A few of my friends can also vouch. I haven’t liked the civic in over a decade since they were boxier! Always preferred the Accords. But the 22 is 🔥 classy, clean, & sophisticated looking! I’m trying to decide between a civic touring & the accord exl 2.0. I just almost like the civic over the accord, but I like that the accord is more spacious w more features and faster

    Did Honda fix the oil dilution with the 1.5l turbo? You never addressed that white elephant.

    • @PrimeAutotainment
      @PrimeAutotainment  3 года назад +1

      Honda PR said they “fixed” it a year or two ago with these 1.5 engines, mainly addressing concerns with the CR-V. Specs are a little different with tuning for their engines. I’ve heard mixed reviews from owners before and after the “fix”. Even if there isn’t “excessive” dilution like there was, there is still going to be some regardless. As for long term reliability, not sure how it will be

    I think the styling is rather bland compared to the previous generation. I love the the way the coupe was different and stood out from the competition. I've driven Hondas for over thirty years but since
    the Accord and Civic coupes have been dropped . I know the coupe market was not as profitable as in the past but re-introducing the Prelude or S2000 would have been a nice option. Looks like an 86 or BRZ when my lease is up

      Hello. Please share why you dislike the CVT transmission.

    • @2004cyrus
      @2004cyrus 3 года назад +3

      @@Ryan-yw8iz in short- a CVT takes gears out of a car. We all grew up on car transmissions shifting planetary gears. You feel in control of a cars REV’s. Driving is more enjoyable that way, and it’s familiar. Without gears you have a car that just feel like a soul less appliance that you aren’t operating. You gain a little MPG with a CVT and that’s it. A CVT is automotive trickery that had to be created to fulfill the Obama EPA’s cafe standards. Automakers had to act fast to get much higher mpg averages and hence the elimination of the majority of V6’s and V8’s and the much more urgent push for hybrids and EV’s. It’s kind of like the slow death of driving and a move towards automation. People still like driving.

      @@Ryan-yw8iz honestly if I wasn’t tired and having a headache today I would be able to give you a much more technical explanation but I did my best for not being able to think. There are as many cars as their are personalities. If you are a guy who likes cars and modifications or fast cars you would likely say heck no to a CVT. There there are guys who could care less about cars and they just like art or video games or think Toyota Corollas are all anyone could ever want, then thinking about a CVT or a transmission had probably never hit your radar.

    • @2004cyrus
      @2004cyrus 3 года назад

      @@Ryan-yw8iz to break things down a little more, Honda had been known among mechanics and the auto industry at large to have one of the best feeling and most reliable CVT’s. I drove a new Civic recently and although it confirmed it’s not for me, it’s a good car and a reliable machine. So if reliability is your main metric over passion for cars and driving dynamics, you can’t go wrong with another civic or accord from Honda.
