      @@DrPadmakarKumar David Sinclair is a professor at Harvard Medical School, he too is following OMAD plan for a very long time. His skin doesnot look like a 50 year old man. In India as well, TEHSEEN POONAWALA (a celebritiy), following this OMAD.
      I am also on a two meals a day plan, first week was the most difficult phase..now cravings are completely dead.

      @virad3801 Thanks for sharing. I personally know about 200 people who are on one meal and doing great in terms of health and fitness. 2 meals a day is very good to start with. If the first meal is only fruits (at least ten grams of fruits per kg of your body weight) it would be best. You seem to be going good. So, keep going.

      @@DrPadmakarKumar ok doctor. In today's lifestyle where most people who work around the clock can they take such a diet. Please advise. For example people who work at sites not desk jobs can they try. If so surely I would try it once if this does not invoke any health complications it would be great. Post 40's people who are involved in jobs where they've to travel a lot everyday not just like going to office and coming from office, there are few jobs where a person has to travel to multiple locations can they try one meal with their medical conditions.
      It would be good if you can share your knowledge and experience on it.
      Thank you for sharing it is sounds genuine if many got good results and but now my concern is " is it meant for all or is it specific for any category of people." 🙏🏼

    There is a old lady, we all call her aai, from my childhood i observed that she only took one meal a day, now i am adult of 56 years old, and she is 93 years old, and she is more fit and fine in many aspects than me, she is free from BP, sugar, arthritis etc etc

    I am a South Indian coming from a DEZHISHTA MADHWA BHAHMIN FAMILY. According to our Hindu tradition widows follow the OMAD tradition. I too became a widow during Corona and slowly reduced eating icut down on many foods. If possible by the grace of God I too Must follow this rule of OMAD. Presently I am following 16 hours fasting......and two meals.... next step I should drastically bring down to OMAD. after lilistening to you and reading the comments. Hopefully by the grace of God I 🙏 I plan to do so from tomorrow. Om namo narayana

      Can u pls let me know in Yr video one meal a day can coffee be taken once in the morning with biscuit and with breakfast? no biscuit. Being a south Indian can't avoid. Can I hv breakfast, as medicines cannot be taken without eating breakfast. Then lunch only. In between fruits, can be taken or not. Iam taking medicine for BP and Sugar. In the night what should be taken if one one time meal? My sister-in-law, is a diabetic patient, her doc.had told her to fo this. She did it for almost 2 years, due to which her doc. stopped medicines. But when again she went to get her sugar checked, it was little higher so she stopped that,reason not known. Kindly pls highlight on my queries asked for ag earliest.

      @@neerajanatarajan9872 neerja when u do something half heartedly u will not only fail. U won't get the results. The coffee should be omitted . So what if ur a South Indian. The medication should be shifted to after yr meal. To get real results this will not do . A person like you then should do intermittent fasting instead. Of 15-16 hours no eat window or autophagy or self healing won't kick in.

      @syedasairah7762 OMAD (One Meal a Day) diet se constipation hona ek common issue ho sakta hai agar diet mein fiber ya paani ki kami ho. Iska solution ye hai:
      Fiber badhayein: Apne ek meal mein zyada fiber-rich foods shamil karein, jaise sabziyan, fruits (specially with skin), whole grains, aur seeds (flaxseed, chia seeds).
      Paani zyada piyein: Din bhar mein achi quantity mein paani peena zaroori hai, at least 8-10 glasses.
      Healthy fats shamil karein: Nariyal ka tel, olive oil, ya nuts aur seeds ko apne meal mein shamil karein, ye aapke digestion ko madad denge.
      Probiotics lein: Dahi ya fermented foods jaise kimchi, sauerkraut apne meal mein add karein, jo aapke gut health ko support karega.
      Agar fir bhi constipation ka issue rahe, toh apni daily diet mein moong ka bharta add kar sakte hain. Please refer 👇

    Absolutely fantastic video. Very very informative. Whatever you have said in your video is absolutely true. The ancient Upanishads and Srimad Bhagavad gita stresses on regulatory diet. There is saying in tamil ayurvedic books.
    1. One who eats 3 times a day is a rogi. (Patient)
    2. One who eats 2 times a day is a bhogi(glutton).
    3. One who eats one time a day is a Yogi.(saint).
    That is why saints, and seers , eat less and they had brilliant memory, they can recite the 4 Vedas by heart without seeing the books. Thank you very much Dr Saab for this excellent video. As you rightly said your fees is a peanut , compared to CT scan

    I am cosuming 1.5 meal a day ( without any sugar or any sweet dish ) .... With 1 hr yoga ....
    And really enjoying my life
    But shuru me hadd se jyada takleef hui
    But mene khud ko 1 month diya tha ki iske baad bhi nahi hua to din bhar khayo aur jaldi uperwale ke paas jayo
    But after 10 days ..thoda control aaya...after 20 days its in habbit
    Now next and forever goal is 1 MEAL A DAY

      You should choose a time that best suits your work regime and daily routine. In general, 5 to 7 in the evening suits most people best. You may take plain water, honey water (normal temperature), vegetable juices like ash gourd juice or any other vegetable juice, coconut water in plenty and non-dairy, non-sugar herbal teas like Hunza tea during fasting hours.

    You are very much right doctor, I'm doing intermittent fasting for 5 years and OMAD for 3 years and besides losing 30kg of extra weight and coming down to exact 24.9 BMI, I'm even looking younger than my 10 year old photos! My overall health is like a teenager. Just add this in your lecture that a 3-meal eater will first have to quit snacking between his 3 meals then adapt to 16-8, then 18-6 and then to 20-4 and this is the time when he can graduate to OMAD.

      @@sridharsadagopan6103 16-8 means 16 hours of drinking only water, black tea or coffee or green tea, no sugar no sweetner no milk, no juice and eating nothing. You can start these 16 hours after dinner at night and your sleep hours will also count in these 16 hours. When 16hours are completed, start 8-hours of a mindful eating, that is, eating healthy foods like home cooked food, home made green salad with no mayonnaise no pasta and no macroni. Also, eating more protein and less carbs, for example if you eat 2 rotis with daal/grains, eating 1 and a half roti with 2 small chicken pieces or 1 big piece or 2 eggs or fish instead of grains. 8 hours are allowed for eating and tea/coffee with sweetner instead of sugar and some milk then again a 16 hour period of not eating. When this becomes manageable then progress to 18-6 routine, then to 20-4 and then to OMAD one meal a day. Don't worry it is quite manageable. You will notice a drastic change and improvement in your health, you will look younger in a few months time, you will become stronger.

    Sir, very well explained. Kya ham Coco nut water and dry fruits or fruits in between le sakte he ya kuch bhi nahi. Agar me normal hu to ye karna chahiye ya sirf rogi hi kohi karna chahiye.

      Rogi ho ya nirogi, koi bhi karega to sehat behtar hogi. Abhi aap point A par hain. Aapko point B (one meal a day) pe jaana hai jiska ideal condition hai ki 23 ghante kuchh khana nahi hai. Nariyal paani, vegetable juice, Ash gourd juice le sakte hain. Point A to point B ki journey ka duration aapko khud decide karna chahiye taaki comfort zone se zyaada bahar nahi jana pade.

    I am 84. I take all the meals ie break fast, lunch, dinner and in-between snacks; off course inmoderation. I drink tea/ coffee half a dozen times. But I avoid junk foods and soft drinks; walk 30 minutes after dinner, use staircase. I am fit and fine.

    I have White Gourd Juice in the morning. Late mornings i have a cup of tea. At 7:00pm i have a cup of milk. No dinner.
    For OMAD do i have to stop these?

You may take plain water, honey water (normal temperature), vegetable juices like ash gourd juice or any other vegetable juice, coconut water in plenty and non-dairy, non-sugar herbal teas like Hunza tea during fasting hours.

    Sir I swear on my Almighty ALLAH.
    My father is a Pediatrician and mama is Gynaecologist But I have never ever heard this thing from them...
    I totally agree with you on this because my religion and our Prophet Mohammad PBUH also taught us the same thing and even he also said that never ever eat full stomach....!

      @@MS0O1 I have cut all sources of sugar for 30 days.not even fruit juice.pehle problem hogi..kyunki body ko pasand hai dopamine jo sugar se release hota hai..uske baad normal lgne lgega..fr sugar(refined sugar) puri trh band krdo..fasting kro 16 hours (in one stretch) everyday..dont eat before completing fasting even on weekends..my fasting period is 9pm to 1pm..but sometimes I fast for whole day(once or twice a week).
      I had same problem..its called HS in medical terminology

      Start with 2 meals a day. The first meal as breakfast. Eat only fruits for breakfast. Eat at least (body weight X 10)g of fruits daily. Have a well balanced meal in the evening. Slowly, you may come to terms with one hour eating window. You may take plain water, honey water (normal temperature), vegetable juices like ash gourd juice or any other vegetable juice, coconut water in plenty and non-dairy, non-sugar herbal teas like Hunza tea during fasting hours.

      You may take plain water, honey water (normal temperature), vegetable juices like ash gourd juice or any other vegetable juice, coconut water in plenty and non-dairy, non-sugar herbal teas like Hunza tea during fasting hours. You might experience acidity or constipation if you’re just starting with One Meal A Day or OMAD. But, be assured that these would be temporary.

    Very informative and inspiring!👍
    We associate food with energy, hence tend to eat frequently.
    Other mindset is to have lots of fruits, nuts and smoothies.
    Hence my eating starts at 8am with nuts smoothie, followed by lots of seasonal fruits, lunch around 12 noon and snacks and tea around 5.30pm.
    So my eating window is from 8am to 6pm.
    My only doubt is how to squeeze all foods into one hour?
    Or delete fruits, nuts smoothie etc from my diet.

      @Gauri Malaviya ji, thank you. One meal a day requires immense psychological strength. Physiologically, the body adjusts to this discipline in 3 days. Squeezing 10 hours into one hour might be difficult instantly but if you give yourself 21 days time in squeezing it, it will not be tough. Afterall, "When going gets tough, the tough gets going".

      You may choose any time for one meal a day, but just make sure to eat at the same time everyday. In general, 5 to 7 in the evening suits most people best. You may take plain water, honey water (normal temperature), vegetable juices like ash gourd juice or any other vegetable juice, coconut water in plenty and non-dairy, non-sugar herbal teas like Hunza tea during fasting hours.

      Shaam ke time 150mL chukandar ka juice sip by sip dheere dheere lena chahiye. Isse reverse ho jayega. Kam se kam 1 mahina lagatar beetroot juice peene se difference pata chalega. Dinner aur agle din ke breakfast ke beech 16 ghante ka gap rakhna theek rahega. Breakfast mein kewal bhar pet fruits khana aur bhi achchha rahega.

      Pravin ji, you should not stop medication abruptly because on regular usage, the body gets used to the chemical drugs, especially medicines like sleeping pills. Based on the benefits you get, you should gradually taper down medication.     I am so happy to know that doctors like are vouching for intermittent fasting and only one meal a day. However two years when the lockdown had just started I went on natural diet healing system which was a combination of fasting and natural food diet consisting of fruits and stewed vegetables and some dry fruits. This I followed for 6 months i eventually had started looking like unwell skinny individual. Under my family and society pressure I had to conform to the norms. But I have stopped enjoying all the benefits that you have mentioned in the video. Now I need some kind of assistance and hand holding to follow the unconventional way of life. Please provide some guidance and a plan of natural food diet. I followed the book written hundred years back by Professor Arnold Ehret.

      You can follow onetime diet without any problems. I started fasting on my own. I ate nothing during the day and ate something after 5o clock. Then I had dinner in the night and slept. I kept this diet for more than a year. After that I again changed and started eating only once. In my opinion you shouldn't do it as a torture to the body. Allow body to adjust to the diet. I had diabetes 15 years back. And my diabetes disappeared after following this diet for 2 years. I tested my sugar levels on three consecutive days. The reading were near 85.

    Logically sound video. I have a couple of questions
    1. When you say muscle mass will increase - is "one meal a day" applicable for underweight, skinny people too? Don't underweight people need to have more food intake (that is well digested) to increase weight?
    2. Are there any guidelines on what should be had in this one meal? How many fruits, vegetables, pulses, grains etc?

      (1) OMAD is for 30+ people. On one meal a day, a skinny person will start putting on weight, because of the effects of intermittent fasting like autophagy, and better metabolism. A person is skinny not because he's eating less. That's because of poor nutrient absorption by the body. People on OMAD have a very strong and healthy gut and efficient food absorption.
      (2) Balanced diet. Just for an example, consume 500g fruits at 04:00 PM. After 45 minutes, eat a balanced diet containing roti / Rice with vegetables and daal, some green chutney and some salads. Complete eating by 05:00 PM. Little bit of dessert can also be taken at 05:00 PM.

    What exactly OMAD mean?
    Taking all the below items at a time
    Grains (cooked?),
    vegetables (cooked?),
    fruits,
    Dryfruits,
    salads,
    Snacks,
    Dairy products,
    ....
    Water?
    Many common foods that don’t complement each other
    Fruits after meal, ...
    Melons and milk, ...
    Ghee and honey, ...
    ....
    Not complemented foods how we can take in single meal?
    If taken before/after some time is it in line with OMAD?
    Eg., If fruits (or any other items) taken after/before 1st meal, can it be called OMAD?
    lly water can’t be taken immediate after/before meal
    and even during meal. So water is an exception?
    Seasonal fruits?
    Medicines?
    ....
    Is it practically realistic? Or only Theoretical?
    Kindly answer.

    Dr. i too heard many times one meal a day is very good . sir if i divide one meal day into two parts for lunch and dinner what will happen? The only one fear is if don't get sleep in night because of only one meal a day. in the beginning may give trouble but slowly our may accept and stabilize.

    I'm practicing OMAD since 3 months and already lost 7kg. OMAD made me feel much lighter, focused and most importantly no craving. It has to become your lifestyle more than a way to weight loss. You can eat your one meal anytime of the day only criteria is keep the same time everyday. Also you should have a watch on what is on your plate. it should have no or very less carb, higher protein and fibre. You may face constipation but it will slowly disappear. I also slowly introduced 10000 steps a day and 3-4 black tea with cinnamon to fill in the day. I am feeling fantastic. This costs you nothing but your discipline.

      @@NajmulIslam-qn7dy No i dont. You can start slowly. First you can skip your breakfast and eat by 11 am. Slowly increase this time frame to 18:6 means 18 hours you fast and 6 hours window you can eat. Later you can do OMAD, means 23 hours fasting. I have tried a lot of weight loss diets over so many years. Always I had craving and in no period I would gain weight. One thing you can understand, by promoting OMAD, nobody but you benefit out of your action and its free of cost. You dont have to spend anything for any special food. This method is for serious people who really want a transformation.

    I saw your video and it is most valueable for every one. I take a 2 meals in a day. 1. in the morning and and 2nd one is around 5:30 to 6:00 PM from last one month. Can I take a one meal now or continue with 2 meals.

      You can continue two meals for some more time, like a month or so and then switch to one meal. It would be good to take only fruits for breakfast and a balanced meal in the evening.

    Even 2 meals a day is not bad as long as you take them on time… 1st meal can be around 12 noon and 2nd meal can be around 5-6pm, don’t eat anything after 6pm and you will automatically be in intermittent fasting mode !!

    I eat a one meal a day! I am 72 years old! I eat on Saturday and Sunday eat two meals a day

Additionally, staying hydrated is crucial, and incorporating light physical activity, such as walking or stretching, can support overall health and longevity. If you’re feeling good and your energy levels are stable, it’s a great sign, but regular check-ups with your doctor to ensure you're maintaining good health are also important.

      You may take plain water, honey water (normal temperature), lemon water, vegetable juices like ash gourd juice or any other vegetable juice, coconut water in plenty and non-dairy, non-sugar herbal teas like Hunza tea during fasting hours.

You might experience acidity or constipation if you’re just starting with One Meal A Day or OMAD. But, be assured that these would be temporary.

    Excellent video Dr. Saab. Knowledge enhancing content. Though I follow what the Army has taught me. Eat as many times as you want (avoiding junk food), but just burn it Baby. Burn it with a daily 5 km run & one 21 KM run every Sunday morning. By pushing your body to rigours of intense workouts, body will keep functioning fine😊

      You have rightly said that eat as many times but make sure you burn the calories consumed in a day. Calories should not be stored in the body because storing calories will increase weight and one will have other health related problems.

      One meal a day is not recommended for you. Do this instead. Have 3 meals a day. First meal only fruits as breakfast. Eat lots of fruits. Second meal should be a balanced meal for lunch. The third meal as dinner should be only salads without salt. Lots of salads. Do this for a month and most of your health issues shall vanish.

    I am on one meal a day and it really melts fat like magic. Hormonal imbalance is solved and periods are normal. Feeling active and happy. Mood remains good.
    Sharing some of my experiences
    I started with 12 hours a day fasting 9 to 9 gradually started postponing first meal by 15 to 30 min and taking last meal liytle earlier. Gradually started with 2 meals a day and now omad.
    For those who are confused.. just go for ut start slowly body will lead u to omad gradually on its own.
