I always say that everybody's body will function differently and honestly, OMAD has help my metabolism. Before OMAD, I always had a hard time but I'm glad I chose to do it this way. I used to binge eat too but now eating one meal a day, I already feel full and can keep on going the day without feeling hungry. It wasn't easy to get out of habit of overeating but now, I feel great.

I've been mostly OMAD for 3 years now. My BMI is 22, I never got sick once since 2019, I'm 46 and my health is better now than in my 20s (I'm a blood donor, my blood gets tested 3 times a year). My energy level is consistent, no glycemic peaks therefore no cravings, no cravings therefore stable mood; I also noticed that my brain works faster; I believe that we awaken our hunter-gatherer instinct when we fast.

Just to prove the results: 2 people recently guessed I was 37, when I'm actually 47.

I don't think about food the same way i think about it when i used to eat 3 meals a day. I tend to overeat And this has been a problem to me. Ending up to a yoyo weightloss. I'm on OMAD and keto, I feel and look amazing! I eat at 4pm. Today I had two ribbeye steaks, 1 avocado, 2 eggs and spinach, some macadamian nuts, and a coffee with heavy cream. Eveything I eat is grassfed and organic. I've never felt better. I also workout in a fasted state. Once I reach my goal weight I'll switch to 20/4 because I'm weight training and would like to bulk up muscle a bit more. So I think 20/4 would let me get in enough calories to build more muscle.

Disclaimer: Changed to OMAD for 3 years now. One meal at 5PM, generally eat anything, however I also reduce sugar intakes as much as possible.. mostly same-day cooked clean food.
    1) Not eating enough calories (DISAGREE)
I strongly believe my body adapted, became more efficient. It's like saying a car that spends 22MPG should have same tank size as one spending 8MPG to manage the daily "roadtrip" of 10km. So, to make myself clear: If we both eat same apple (same calories intake), I will probably extract more calories from it , than you. Because we all know that there is not a 1:1 caloric transformation in our body, from the "internet calories table of foods" directly to our energy levels. It depends on the body to extract as much as possible. Think it as two kids, one that knows he gets only 1 meal / day .. and the other that gets 3 meals (or a meal whenever he wants). The first kid will surely eat the whole plate and lick it afterwards, while the 2nd one will leave some fries, some salad on the plate, cause he knows he will get food anytime he wants.
    2) & 3) Not eating enough protein & nutrients (PARTIALLY AGREE)
It is harder to cover all the required protein and nutrients in only 1 meal, HOWEVER, the vast majority of the people do not cover it in 3 meals combined. It comes down to personal diet ethics. Here is what OMAD actually helps, by simply making you more conscious about food intake, during your OMAD training. Because it requires strong mind and self-consciousness for months in a row, before it becomes standard and casual for your body.
4). Heavy meals at suboptimal times (DISAGREE)
From personal experience, before ever doin OMAD, every time after lunch and dinner a serious fatigue/sleepiness would kick in (it would go away after 15-30min). After OMAD, I NEVER ONCE got sleepy after my meal. Even though I theoretically eat more once , than I did before during lunch and dinner. On the contrary .. I feel energized and muscle tonus skyrockets in the next immediate hours.
I think it is wrong to apply 3-meals standards to OMAD. We clearly don;t comprehend the full picture. What OMAD did for me was clearly improve my metabolism and digestion efficiency.
On top of that OMAD is what the name says. YOU DECIDE when that meal is. You can put it at breakfast, you can puit it at lunch, you can put it at dinner. (Obviously breakfast is the worst of choices, cause body needs to fully wakeup) For me it's ~5PM, because that's when I get home from work.

My question is if eating early in the day is better for you, why do I only feel good when I am fasted throughout the day and then eat dinner as my OMAD? I've settled to 2 hour window from 1 to 3, start with a lean protein, for me a chicken vegetable soup, big pot on the go for a daily start, then prepare the rest of meal which has whatever I'm in the mood for, followed by dessert and or fruit.
I don't feel deprived, or hungry, can eat SAD as long as my calories are around 1800. Also take all my vitamins, minerals at this time. 2 weeks in, down 4kg and I've also eaten my favourite treats. No deprivation, no forbidden food and because I allow myself to enjoy, I don't always have to eat it since I can have it the next day.
It's very freeing not to be on a perpetual diet with culinary restrictions and omad has been the answer.
If there is a luncheon or dinner arrangement, I can adjust accordingly, maybe feel a bit more hungry in the extended time frame but oh so worth it. Love love, love omad.
After dieting all my life, keto or low carb generally having been the main default eating style (love my carbs too much to go longer than a year) and losing and gaining the same weight plus adding extra, omad may become my way of life.
Oh by the way, I have a sedentary, walk the dog lifestyle, at an obese 66 years old, with wrecked thyroid and an inability to generally keep weight off.
Only 2 weeks in but so promising.

@@theraptureisnearbelieveinj448no, I'm doing an anti inflammatory mediterranean diet these days because my body was so stressed and painful, I could barely walk 200 metres. I'm finding that the seed oils compounded my inflammation so have to use only olive oil and animal fats.
My genome nutrition study and microbiome showed a list of food I should be eating genetically and what to avoid. I'm on a heap of powders and pills to get balance in my body so that it can lose weight properly. While I liked omad I'm now doing 3 meals a day with keto snacks if I want sweets. Fruit and vegetables are a joy and I actually have to up my protein according to the paperwork.
I'm happier, less stressed, less pain these days so something is kicking in. All up I've lost 11 kilos since April, some on omad, some on keto but now I'm feeling better with the Mediterranean. These are valuable insights for people thinking about it. I heard another doctor mention that there is the direct statement in several articles that people can 'eat anything they want' in the short time period allowed, but that is not correct. Most people do understand that they still need to eat healthy food. Some do not and it's a good reminder for them.

I've lost 3 kg, slow but steady, and I don't think I'll change anything until I reach my goal (2 kg left to lose). I don't know if I'll keep doing omad after I lose all the weight. I know there are some people who do OMAD for years and one person who grew up with this diet because of poverty and they don't experience any adverse problems.

It can be really hard to lose weight in a society where high calorie food is everywhere. I found that one meal a day or even sometimes every two days curbs my appetite and cravings, so it's not as hard as it seems. And as long as my meals are healthy I feel good and lose weight.

You won't overeat or undereat if you eliminate the Carbs. The body is meant to run on Ketones Carbs are not a neccesarry macronutrient. Hi protein high fat meal the body will eat on instinct no calorie counting needed. Cook with olive oil and throw in a salad with avocado and oil. My sample meal a couple pieces of Salmon with sourkrout and a side salad with some avacado and for dessert some asparagus dipped in almond butter it's actually quite tasty. The sourkrout provides a ton of electrolytes vitamin c and fiber

If I eat OMAD I’m really just eating 2 meals between 4 pm and 9pm that’s my eating window so I’ll eat and 4 and eat throughout until 9 pm . I eat plenty get all of my nutrients then wait again till the next day and I can feel my brain and my body start to desire food again and be hungry ! I love it absolutely. 3 meals a day is a complete myth. Do not have to do 3 meals a day in my opinion! As humans we just start these ideas and stick to them like ideaologies just like religions! Yes eating 3 meals a day will make you feel good , but you don’t want to feel good all the time it’s just for your brain and body to let your self suffer through that “hunger” for 16-20 hours

Well it’s well known you shouldn’t break your fast by eating breakfast following the lengthy period of time sleeping at night..to continue fasting until at least noon. So no I don’t agree with eating a big meal for breakfast like a King for weight loss. Second by eating later in the afternoon or early eve you have greater time fasting to reap the benefits. If people are fasting they most certainly shouldn’t be eating processed food for their only meal , and likely would be eating plenty of micronutrients through whole foods. I have also read the body doesn’t need huge amounts of micronutrients daily if it is fat burning and using that for fuel. OMAD has worked for plenty of people to get them off medication, improved their blood work, helped them lose weight etc. so I really can’t agree with any part of this video.

1.) Body will long term adapt to your caloric intake, and reduce it if need be. It is a sad sad thing when a doctor giving advice on nutrition didn't do his homework of researching it out before talking the talk. That is why caloric reduction has a short term effect on weight loss.
2.) As a muscular man, I can testify that YOU can EAT and I do EAT more protein than I actually NEED to maintain my muscle mass, in just one meal, protein needs are not that big if your blood stream if saturated with GROWTH HORMONE because your insulin is low the whole day you didn't eat.
It is nothing special, some meat and few eggs cover it very well. In fact, all the excess is converted into glucose, so the purpose of overstuffing your self with protein is counter productive.
3.) If you are eating JUNK food ALL day long, you aren't getting any micro nutrients, but you do get a destroyed hormonal system with obesity as a result. Learning about what you eat is not exclusive OMAD problem. So, NO it's not a problem to get enough nutrients if you eat quality food.
4.) Eating big breakfast... and in general trying to comply with 3-5 meals a day ideology ALMOST KILLED ME. And it probably would, if I didn't stop it.
If you eat 3 times a day, your body will BURN FOOD, and not burn STORED RESERVES. When it burns it all, it'll just make you hungry to get more of it from you. You'll give it again, and lock yourself into ONE WAY metabolic disease where your body is never ever recycling anything, you can even be thin, but your body will be sick.

#2 the body only needs 65g of protein a day and it shouldnt be that hard to get in one huge meal like a whole meat lovers pizza.you can add a protein shake to add more protein.
#3 with my one huge meal a day i always take a multi vitamin every day thats the whole point of multi vitamins to make up for those macronutrients you arnt getting.
#4 those studies are bs all they do is suggest no other evidence then that.the real question is do you want to be hungry during the day or during the night during the day you can keep busy with work to get through any hunger you feel its harder to go to sleep hungry imo.
i personally do omad long term eat my big 2000 calorie meal around 6pm and im not hungry at night at all before bed.id rather do things during the day to keep busy.
