Awesome build. I love the banter you blokes have on camera, you and the skid mark factory are some of the few channels in which the unpolished nature of the lack of comfort behind the camera adds so much (don’t ever change it). Your mechanical ability leaves me in awe each episode.
Your start up video was far less eventful than ours... Im jealous 🤣 That PDM technology is game changing stuff, and the WiFi connectivity.... broooo. So good!
Missed a washer on my 1j cressida. First start was eventful. Dad" fuck theres a strong smell of fuel" Me: yeah there is a bit hey *hears something that sounds like water on concrete*. OH FUCKKKKKKKK. was pissing fuel all over the starter and shit.
6:27 For one, brief moment, I thought you’d wired each headlight to its own output. You’re not Nick Blackhurst though. I can imagine him doing it just in case he ever wanted to make Binky wink.
You use Co2 because it’s a dry gas ie has no moisture in it ..... if you compress normal air which has water vapour in it you will rust / contaminate your control valves 👍 same reason you don’t put normal air in circuit racing car tyres ... you use nitrogen or dry air
Japanese cars are a mixed bag for us long people (6'5"). *Late model Corollas*, don't even need my seat all the way back. *Pajero*, comfy but wouldn't want to be any smaller. *Integra*, arse didn't fit in the seat. *Outback/Liberty*, couldn't sit in the back for lack of head clearance. *Land Cruiser/HiLux*, so much room for activities. *N13 Pulsar, Nissan Vanette*, ended up with broken seat mounts and a shiny spot on the ceiling above the driver.
I live pretty much exactly on the opposite side of the globe, and even here the Nexus R5 is already considered the epitome of raw drooooolage! :P How they managed to cram that much computer and relay circuitry in to such a tiny box is a mind bender in it's own right. That they managed to do it at those amperages is real wizardry. And that they managed to do it without a single burn-fuse is... otherworldly!
Usually when I'm watching your stuff (or Al's or Benny's) I just put you in a small window and open a Sudoku game in another window. Then just listen to the banter and take a quick glance every now and then in-between looking for a place to put another 5. Generally, you're just welding up another exhaust or crimping random wires so it's easy to follow and I've seen it many times before. This time I was like "Holy crap! What's this Nexis stuff???" I had to quit my game, put you full screen and start the vid from the beginning again. I guess we need more covid lockdowns to get your best work. Cheers.
We appreciate it! I like the remote control functionality, reminds me of the fun I had in the 90's when I made my first remote start and messed with many people!
They use CO2 because you can fit more gas in a smaller cylinder at a much lower pressure than compressed air, and it' not flammable so will not turn into a blowtorch in a fire. Liquid CO2 has an expansion ratio of 535:1, so a litre of liquid CO2 at 860psi gets you 535 litres of gas at atmospheric pressure (14.7psi), To get the same volume of gas with compressed air you would need 1.7 litre cylinder compressed to 4500psi, because the expansion ratio compressed air at this pressure is only 306:1. With compressed air you need a bigger and much more expensive cylinder. So the short answer is CO2 is cheaper and it works.
I think most of the guys who use compressed air have an air on board system with a small tank. Drag week type stuff, use it to pump up tyres, or actuate chassis jacks n junk.
Industrial co2 isn't compressed to a liquid, it doesn't have a liquid state, it goes straight to a soild ie dry ice. It is dry, clean, inert, cheap and readily available so it is the go to gas. Any will work some have dangers and disadvantages. Clean compressed air is not cheap or readily available, nos is expensive, but a good for weight saving if you're running a nos car.
isn't there less resistance with a crimp fitting joint aswel rather than a solder joint inst there? haha been awhile.. not a fan of wiring👨🦽🤣 who is. that head nodd on fire up 😂😂😂
You need to add a USB WiFi adapter to the laptop so you can link to the NEXUS and the Internet at the same time. That way you can watch Al and Woody (and maybe Gus) videos on the Corolla dash screen whilst cruising to Bunning's.
Think we should see Scott and Scott Haltech challenge who can do the coolest stuff with a nexus. What I really want to see is the auto tuning. The features are way cool on the nexus.
Computer tech sure has changed the way things can be done these days. Remote start and being able to operate water pumps, fans etc, check what is drawing amps, very cool. What is a system like that worth to supply and install approx?
I'll have a crack at the CO2 question. Imagine having the car on fire and a leaking or fire damaged compressed air or NOS system on board? Not sure the Nos would make much difference to the fire in atmo circumstances but the compressed air certainly would. CO2 is a much safer gas to use as it will not make the fire worse. In other words , for fire things and stuff. Industry standard things and stuff. cheers.
Watching the Hoff climb out of that KE10 is like watching a Great Dane squeeze out of a letterbox. Awesome stuff guys, that was epic as always
Do you find something comical about my appearance when I am driving my automobile?
🤣
Oooh, the green hardtop..........

7:46 got that remote closing boot lid
Could change the Comfort Access boot to manual and there's that extra output for the water pump 😂
That clip with the crimping tool is priceless.
And your car is awesome too.
How can you not wield a hammer around and not smile? 🤣
That could be the next t-shirt for they're merch.
Jokes aside i reckon Scott is a wiring genius
As usual the troll game is strong. you may notice what he’s crimping for that clip....
Your start up video was far less eventful than ours... Im jealous 🤣 That PDM technology is game changing stuff, and the WiFi connectivity.... broooo. So good!

project blinky!
Don't give him ideas, Binky has taken long enough without becoming project Blinky.
i really don't mind you doing stuff off camera. progress 👍
seriously one of my top 5 favourite yt channels

The look on Scott's face when he was using the hammer crimp tool was priceless! Good job guys!
Think the hammer was industry standard.
Wow, This is by far my favourite car built on RUclips atm. That Nexus is nuts!
2:06 how good is that terminal crimper!!
good to see you use "3 points of contact" to get into & out of the KE10
Large men in tiny cars. Must be like playing Mario Kart
Large men in what department? And how do you know this?
I'm >185cm (height) and fitted pretty comfortably in my KE10 and KE26. They're small cars but the doors/seats/roof lining are thin...
Would that make The Hoff Bowser then?

I've been waiting all day for this
Kid in a candy shop
Look at the Smiles going on 😂
Bring the 3rz Corolla over to Drag / Race week next year, that'd be awesome to see!
You can compress co2 alot more than air, till it turns into a liquid. So you fit heaps more in the bottle
The Hof looks like thew "cat that ate the canary", using the laptop to start the KE10. Thanks for another great video, cheers
Love the Nexus information! Such a great unit! What an epic little Corolla! Can't wait to see what it can do!
It looks like an Aeroflow catalog threw up in there XD, love your work!
Aeroflow?!? You wash your mouth out. That's quality Australian made Speedflow right there! Pay it the respect it deserves 🤣
Although it is the wrong colour, and should be black, It is most certainly Speedflow, nothing but the best for these jobs
Aerofail? .. that signature speed flow colours every day of the week.
Wow that Nexus is next level!
Last week you looked beaten. This week you look like Al after his first drive of the patrol. You do good work and quickly , you should be proud!
We appreciate it! I like the remote control functionality, reminds me of the fun I had in the 90's when I made my first remote start and messed with many people!
Pretty clever Haltech especially starting it. Well done
That water pump shouldn’t be that noisy. My Davies Craig pump is pretty quiet.
Must have shares in Speedflow with all those adapters in there @ around 1:15 !!
how about the auto boot closer on engine start up that nexus is smart ..... like the ute ....
I love this little toymota its ace. Great video as always, love seeing the progress 👌🏼👍🏼🤣
A happy man is a hammering man
The wiring you did last week was good.... The stitches in my wrists are coming out soon🤐 glad you've got the wiring almost sewn up.... Like me!
Bad earth on that rear light that's why the indica tor and reversing light are on, its earthing through the bulb
Why don't people do 3rz turbo builds more often?
I wanna see a 3RZ powered widebody BRZ on Weld Alphas 😍😍😍
I want to do one in my KE55
Nice work mate and the ecu is fricken awesome
Love the hockey stick tape around the wires. Should be puck proof!,,!
Damn that Nexus is neat! Thanks for showing us some of the cool features!
Cant wait for the tune
Never seen anything like it, so interesting mate! Fantastic work!
That Nexus is sick! I want one. Loving this build this car is awesome, can't wait to see it make huge power and run 7s
What a mad little beast...... sounds so good. Man I miss my Turbo 5K KE20. Cant wait to see it hit the track.
I'm always amazed that you two fit in these little cars lol 🤣 big fellas
Im very impressed with that remote set up coolest thing I've seen in years 👍
Scott’s mood is like he broke his virginity, hahaha never seen him so excited like that!!
is it me or does that bottom pulley look like it's moving off axis a little
neat. I like the trick if using 3.5mm stereo jacks.
Nice work. That Nexus gear is pretty neat.
More tech crammed into that little car than all the moon landers ever had!!
Mad skills, impressive motivation and pace.
I really want a Haltech Nexus.
Hi Noel....
I fucking love this channel. You guys are hilarious, and the stuff you work on is always super interesting.

Loving the KE10! Almost as much as Hoffman.👍
Best show on u tube
That Nexus is a serious piece of kit Scott, really impressive stuff and the way that you have it wired and configured is amazing 👌🏻
Only issue with compressed air is moisture in the compressor and lines, but besides that no difference at all.
Much appreciated!
Cheers for sharing boy's...
CO2 is used because it is a liquid in the bottle and lasts a long time, compressed air is still a gas and needs recharging often

Please do a decent loop of the Hoff hammering the crimping tool
The water pump seems excessively loud. Might be worth checking the suction side isn't restricted causing cavitation noise.
Awesome overview of Nexus, A++ would bang
I can't wait to see this at the 3rz challenge. Game on bruz

I guess you removed the 1200 and put in the 1600 , with twin su's cam and extractors? )))
And i really enjoy your videos as well.
Hi noel
Co2 is used because it’s stored as a liquid, thus you can hold more in the bottle (last longer)
Also CO2 is drier than compressed air, so your bits last longer.
Christine the Corolla.
