- A few weeks ago, mid-July, it made the rounds that Music Store, another major German online music retailer, had listed the Behringer MS-1 MK2 for pre-order. When it came, I had a major surprise!

I also got the MK1 today and it's already on the way back to Music Store. I'm curious if we ever get to know how this got screwed up.

What are the improvements with the so called MKII compared to MKI ??
I just had an email conversation with thomann. They haven't even received the mk2 yet. The mk1 is on back order
Do you know what is going on with the MS 1? On the Behringer website the red and blue ones are flagged as legacy products, only the black one is flagged as available but nowhere to find except second hand. They maybe only sold low volumes? It is a shame because I liked the red one a lot and black is impossible to use in the dark (what is their obsession with black anyhow?)
I don‘t know! I finally I bought a real SH-101. Perfectly restored as new and midified with Tubbutec by analogia.pl. So now I can wait for the MK2! 😁

That offer was suspicious from the beginning. Like you said, not at Thomann or anywhere else in the world. I really want to get MK2 but I took "the risk" and I waited for those who bought it to give a feedback, risking that it will be sold out for the next year or two.
I just wish Behringer would give an update what's going on with MK2. They teased that it's already in production and ready for shipping yet half year later and crickets. Now I doubt that MK2 is in production at all.

Same, where do all those MK1s come from a year after they have not been available, even blue and black ones. I sold my MK1 after they announced the MK2 because i thought i will buy the new one in a couple of weeks. Now i am thinking about buying a MK1 again, just watching a used one locally and also always wanted a blue one - but wait - now that musicstore removed them from the store i can't do that - wonder what they are going to do with them now. And yes i wish Behringer would clear this up, i mean if i buy a MK1 again and in a month suddenly the MK2s pop up... How hard can it be to give that information.
@@snorrevonflake Ahh that sucks. I would be pissed in a such situation. Behringer seems to not give a damn about the entire situation. Maybe if they wouldn't be surrounded by their own 'fanclub' bubble, they would be more concerned about their customers but now they seems to act like they're above all of us. It's sad because I love their products. I just bought Brains instead of MS-1 ;) and surely will buy more. But this entire fiasco with MK2 leaves me with a very bad taste. Now it looks like that news with pictures of MK2 on a production line was either fake stunt or they had some serious issue found after they started production, that they still need to fix. It wouldn't hurt if they would give an update. It just shows that they don't really care, no matter how much they pretend that they do on their social media.
too many bad experiences in the past with Behringer gear to go near their kit today, so this doesn't surprise me to be honest!
Thomann has the MS-1-RD in stock right now but it doesn't look like they're the mk2 either. I suppose Behringer still has some mk1s to get rid of before they ship the new ones.

All I can say about Music Store is that I don't want anything from that shop, not even free, from the worse customer support to garbage service, this is my experience with them. That looks like Music Store made a mistake, not Behringer. And as you mentioned, if is not on Thomann, I would say it's fake or a listing mistake.

My experience with Music Store differs a lot. Before the 2022 I ordered many things from Music Store to Russia, including a guitar, guitar pickups, two synths...never had any issues, everything was perfect

@@winesynths I'm trying to find one but only finding a few of these online at around 350. I've spent ages trying to find any mention of mkii on the product listing!
I just assumed this was American prices for left over mki's, as they were up on Thomann for 200e a few weeks ago, but on request, now gone as of this week.
So confusing.
Maybe its a matter of miscommunication. Maybe Behringer meant "2nd run" of the MS-1 because, as people reported, the MS-1 is available again. Depends on what the description at MusicStore said. If it really said "closer to the original than Mk II" then there's something terribly wrong. But if it just said "Mk II" somebody at B. might have meant "2nd run".
It‘s really strange because the units shipped were produced in 2019. According to serial numbers.

The MS-1 was out of stock everywhere I've looked for a long time. I thought it was discontinued. But now I see that it's back in stock at Thomann and Sweetwater. I guess Uli found some new old stock in the closet?

They removed it from the store today. Sad that they don't know the products they are selling. Also very strange that after the MK1s have been sold out for over a year and the MK2 has been announced and shown as ready to ship in march now suddenly the MK1 is available again in all colours, did they find a lost container of them or what ? Behringer does not seem to want to clear this up in their Facebook group. I think they should sell them off for 200 max. now that everybody is waiting for the MK2.

Haha. I just got a mk1 from sweetwater before they are unavailable. A fellow synth you-tuber (bikegarrett) has an ms1 and it sounds great in his videos. I simply want that sound of an ms1. How close to sh01 it sounds ist mir egal. Also think about this: What synths, other than matriarch and grandmother are semi-modular keyboards? (old 2600's with external keyboard do not count)
Depends on what counts - MS20, Malevolent, Matrixbrute (Minibrute), Odyssey, MFB Dominion etc...

I don’t believe that this was made on purpose. I only have good experiences with Musicstore. For instance, I ordered an Arturia Keylab 49 MKII and a converter was missing and it was replaced instantly.

Yes they just don't know their products and obviously Behringer does not give them information either.
I've ordered a synth in August and now its November and they keep telling me its coming in their stock in 2 weeks... Really good store...
I saw the listing and assumed it meant ms1 rather than ms101, because I have always considered the ms1 rebrand a second version.
You are right! But as I understood, the Ms-101 had to be rebadged as Ms-1 for legal reasons. Earlier this year Behringer announced an MS-1 MKII with some technical improvements.
@@winesynths yes, apparently Roland own the number 101 and no one else can use it…. It causes me no end of problems at work, because I often have to count over a hundred:)
Can’t see how Behringer could improve upon the synth, my ms101 sounds perfect to my ears.
Other than adding additional cv control that is.
Wow ,what a screw up!! I'm UK based & Andertons UK is Behringer's dealer. I've seen them with BEHRINGER MS-1 MK2 on there website & would like to order one but i wouldn't want to find out they sent me the MK 1 * have to return it. I've not even seen anyone on RUclips with the MK 2 as yet.
Think i can see why there calling this as MK2....Let me remind you that Behringer did previously produced this some time ago , named as the BEHRINGER MS-101 !!! Now this model is the improved model BEHRINGER MS-1 MK1 ...Soo yes it could be the MK2 in a sense. Hope this helps . Think i might buy one regardless soon 😀

To my knowledge Behringer hasn’t officially announced a mk2 version yet. I believe it was mentioned in a Facebook group, but AFAIK every product they have sold was already on their web site.
Oh yes! They did back in march! They mentioned new chips and some details like the more accurate glide settings with a third step just like on the real SH.
@@winesynths I heard that too, but I don't think it was an official product announcement. I'm interested in the mk2 as well. I didn't like the original because I thought the portamento was too slow. Got any links?
@@winesynths OK I found it, but it's not like one of their usual official announcements. They just mentioned it on FaceBook and the synth blogs all ran it. Usually Behringer drops a RUclips video and updates their web site when any new synth starts shipping.
They posted several pics of it in the factory, in boxes ready to ship, back in March on their fb page
@@fakefirmware yup. They did the same thing with the MS-101 way before it shipped, and even the UB-Xa. That is not the format of their actual shipping announcements.

Yes, the bander is planned to be black. At the moment the illuminated white controller is the only thing stopping me from buying it. They will also add an "auto" position on the glide. I hope they do a gray version in the future, although the dark brown (bk) looks great.

I would've stopped the advice at "don't buy behringer". I know this is probably nothing to do with uli, but he has always had questionable business ethics, & when that wasn't bad enough, along he comes with 'corksniffer'.
You should distance yourself from the company and their ethos and just buy what ever you like.
Apple is no better, but they charge and arm and leg for how they make their devices, and we all know about how Foxconn's reputation for human rights is subpar.
Most companies do have questionable ethics. Devices made out of resources dig by slave children? Who gives a damn. CEO of a company did a stupid joke? Burn them!!!

I'll cede that he's brought things to people who'd otherwise be locked out by the prices, but in some ways his business is like that of spotify.
