    Do you have a video or instructions making that door stand you have that you weigh a door with. Looks super useful and well made. Think I see end/center bearing plates on a torsion tube.? lol love it

      That is a garage door scale from service spring!

    at my old house my door had no balance in it, even though it was a new built house a few months old when I tried to disengage the door when it was up. it just came crashing down and it was very heavy. my mum never did anything with it and its about 6 years old now and surprisingly the motor is still working strong on it.

      The motor will work stong for 10 years, but its the extra 5 years you are losing because of it is the best way to describe it. Nothing wrong happens short term, you just have to buy something sooner

    Would love to see how you cut down springs in a video. I’m a tech on the east coast and I’m always looking for new tricks to use on the job

    Always set your up limits first then your down limit, on the 7030’s and the 8130’s, then cycle it with the wall button, if not it’ll loose limits eventually

    • @tcgaragedoor
      @tcgaragedoor  8 месяцев назад

      that’s exactly what i did! You have to set the limits up first then down on those liftmasters

      @@tcgaragedoor I’m not sure how my comment was added to this video😂 that’s an LM 8155, the video I meant to comment on was an odyssey 1000 you were setting limits on, pretty cool running into fellow Technicians🤙🏻

      Cycling it on the wall button is to set force settings, has nothing to do with the limits.

    Previous company ghosted her over something that minor? I would've found that in the first five minutes like you did, man some companies aren't worth a crap

    The Raynor trubalance drums world probably fix the balance issue, it probably isn't the springs, it's just an insulated door with glass. Those doors almost never balance good.

      I believe it’s the company that has been supplying the springs. This door was from a local distributor and i’ve also had balance issues with their springs recently, even after weighing the door. I’m going to def take a look at the trubalance drums tho, always worth considering!

      @@tcgaragedoor they are a game changer. They were made for those types of doors. Any door with glass in the top section doesn't balance perfectly usually, especially if it is insulated glass.

    Do you liaise and negotiate with companies that build commercial estates and new build housing developments to install say 100/200 doors for them at once? I would do! Infact, I could do on your behalf.
