    I’m not native to the americas but I am part Roma which moved from northern India and Pakistan through Iran, Arabian peninsula to Europe and faced a lot of parallel forms of discrimination and genocide throughout history as American natives and First Nations. I pray our peoples and ancestors find peace and forgive for the past and look to the future that’s brighter than ever!

    High quality dancing here! You can tell these fellas have hit the Red Road for many years! Title could be a little more specific to indicate that the "special" is a Sneak Up. You can tell by the drum beat and the story being told. Good to see traditions kept alive.

    • @BLStatted
      @BLStatted 5 лет назад

      A "special" means that someone, i.e. dancer or committee, is sponsoring a particular contest. It doesn't mean which or what type of song is being sung.

    Beautiful drumming, dancing and song! I am lucky to live in the city of Chief Sealth (aka Seattle). In this lifetime I am a white female although and I know in my heart I have been here before and of a tribal nation.
    I have always loved the Native American Wisdom, Culture and Art. I’ve gone to pow-wows and seen ancient petroglyphs where the Pacific Ocean greets the Washington state coastline.
    When I hear the drumming, it is more than that, I feel it in my heart, body and soul. I have been moved to tears on occasion when I can ‘feel the spirit’ of the music and chants and it reaches to a part of me, to a place within I cannot even describe.
    Thank You for sharing this amazing video.

      @Teresa Fernandez The Spanish brought a lot of bad things to Turtle Island. They changed the names of places and the people and the language and religion instead of spirituality. But, some people are definitely waking up. They are getting involved in Aztec danza, temascal (sweat lodge), peyote ceremonies, getting their Aztec or Mayan horoscope (tonalamatl/Tzolkin). It's high time that people start finding out who they really are and where they came from and why they came to live in this planet for this lifetime. It is all knowledge that Native cultures already possessed before the arrival of the weros . .

They were the one who flattened the grass for the other dancers. There were also the rain dancers, whos dances were believed to bring on rain for the crops. There are a lot of other ones but I haven't bethered going to a pow wow since I was a kid.

Por ejemplo, los mexicas esclavizaban a las tribus que tenían alrededor, por eso los tlaxcaltecas y muchos otros pueblos en el sur se unieron a los españoles. To those Native American people who refused to let our cultures die, thank you 🙏 I'm also so thankful the internet has given us a voice that will never be silenced and it gives those of us who didn't have the opportunity to grow up with our culture present, clean and clear access to it.. I'm a great great great granddaughter of a full Native American Woman who was forced to give her son away because he was half white. I don't know the story beyond that but I know do know that my ancestors live inside of all of us no matter 1 drop or 100. Peace Everybody. ✌
